Overall the experience was awful and I'm not sure we will ever go back. We started with the honey butter bread, which is a flatbread, but is usually soft and fluffy and just drizzled with honey. This was thin & crispy and swimming in honey. Not a great start. Our guests both ordered salads and both salads ($18 each) were disappointing. Just plain lettuce with a protein on top & a couple slices of avocado. No mix of greens, nothing but lettuce. My husband got the filet, which had very little flavor, needed seasoning. The included sides were pitiful green beans that didn't seem fresh & a tiny tomato salad. Thankfully he isn't picky, but it was very disappointing. I got the burger with the bacon jam, which I've had before. It was nothing like what I've had before. The burger was tiny and instead of an interesting mix of toppings, it was just tons of bacon jam - nothing to offset or balance it out, like it used to. The meat itself wasn't very flavorful. Now I can fault our guests for ordering salads instead of meals. Their soups and sandwiches always used to be top notch and since we didn't get any of those this time, I really cannot say how those have changed. But with as bad as the burger was, I've lost faith in them. Even the service was lacking. The waitress was pleasant enough, but didn't write anything down and definitely screwed up our order. Once we had our food, she disappeared. On top of all that, there was a group of 8 right behind us that were extremely loud and obnoxious. This certainly isn't the fault of Stone Soup, but it did mean that even the ambiance couldn't redeem the visit. We are a couple that eat out OFTEN. And we are happy to pay for food quality and experience. But when the bill for a party of 4 is $150 and EVERY aspect of the visit disappoints, then we have a problem with the prices.

And while customers told us happy anniversary, not once did any of the 3 staff serving us say happy anniversary. That about sums it up. They were acting friendly, but not top notch. Definitely, not to the level needed for a place like this. Food and drinks: We had coffee drinks and both were lukewarm to cool. I couldn't even finish my cappuccino because it was not at all hot. For food, I had shrimp and grits and it was pretty good. My wife, chicken cacciatore and the chicken tasted leftover and one piece had a bone. The pasta was lukewarm and tasted reheated. When we told them, they said they would take off that dish, but no apologies. Instead they asked if we wanted dessert because of the entree issue. Assuming they were being nice, we said yes only to find out they charged us for the dessert. You can't make this stuff up. Attention to detail: While the setting is nice, there is a clear lack of attention to detail everywhere you look. Not telling us happy anniversary, not noticing I barely touched my cappuccino, no hand towels in the women's restroom to dry hands, no one at the hotel front desk or the restaurant front desk, doors to the beautiful patio locked so we had to walk around the building outside to get to this space (which is not a welcoming approach), and the manager brought out our dessert and never apologized. And as mentioned previously, the staff is adequate for an average chain, but not for a boutique hotel and restaurant. Overall, very disappointing, and no surprise it was empty. Much better ways to spend this kind of money with the expectation of excellence and receiving mediocre. During our meal, an adjacent four top was seated and while they were not disturbing us, the tiny waitress was bumping into me as she took their order or delivered food, enough so that I had to be aware of it so as to not accidentally wave an arm and knock a drink or plate from her hand. Our service was attentive. Pricing is reasonable for food, but I did think $14 for an 8 ounce hot sake was steep. I tried the Larb Gai level 6 and the presentation and arrangement of the dish made it easy to eat as lettuce wraps with crisp iceberg and the fresh flavors. It was well balanced and the right heat but slightly dry. A side container of a couple of additional tablespoons of the Thai dressing would be a good idea. My Tom Yum Soup entree size was ample enough for leftovers. It is very flavorful but on the sweet side comparatively to many other TY soups I've had. My protein choice was chicken and heat level 6 of 10. It seemed that everyone's dishes were slightly hotter than expected, even our friends who regularly order the same dishes felt that way. My 6 was more like an 8 and I'm a hot head eater. This often happens as variance in pepper heat in stir fry or in chef to chef variance in spice profile. I would suggest order lower and adjust up to your taste. We arrived early, 5:15 and left 7:15 and were not rushed. The restaurant was moderately busy as it was a Friday.
