Probably the best Thai soup I've ever had. I got the chicken coconut soup, the Tom Kha Gai. It was phenomenal. Perfect balance of flavors. Nothing left in my bowl. Also, nothing to complain about with the entire visit. Friendly staff. Prompt service. Food came out in less than 10 minutes. Ka-Tip is such a welcomed addition to the Dallas Farmers Market area, and I'm excited to come visit once they are settled in with a full menu and fully decorated dining area. For now, they have a soft opening menu with unique and authentic dishes. I usually like to order fried rice when I get Thai food, but instead, Ka-Tip offers a dish with ground chicken, white rice, egg, vegetables and garlic that I opted for. As one reviewer pointed out, the dish looked bland upon arrival, but once you bite into it, it's surprisingly full of flavor and textures that all compliment one another. The sweet girl at the register even mentioned that this dish and others can be made vegan upon request! If you want a starter or something extra on the side, I recommend trying either the dumplings or vegetable egg rolls which are both delicious choices. The decor is welcoming and not overwhelming, and I love the illustrations on the wall that shine light on the culture and inspiration behind Ka-Tip. Great, authentic Thai food. Ka-Tip has some really delicious dishes, many of which you will not find elsewhere in Dallas. The place is really cute inside, with a huge piece of "chalk art" on a long wall. Staff is super nice and helpful. It's not a huge place, and the word is getting out, so snag a table soon. I really like their grilled meats, but everything we had was good. The dumplings and basil chicken were really good, too. I'm not a huge fan of egg rolls, so I will skip them next time...but if you like them, go for it. Now I'm getting hungry talking about Ka-Tip.... read more

Tried this place while out in Dallas Farmers Market and it didn't disappoint. Very very good Thai food and friendly staff. Had two apps, dumplings and fried wontons with quail eggs and some of the most generous portion sizes I've ever had. Dumplings were superb. Wife and I sit the Tom Yum Moo Sub soup and that was so.e of the most flavorful thai soup I've had. Lemon spicy broth was delicious. No pic because it was too good didnt even think to take. Beautiful location and very cute inside. I got the Tom Yum Goong soup, which was good but tiny. Added a side of steamed multigrain rice and put it in the soup to hold me over more. It says it has shrimp and oysters but the bowl is small I got one oyster and 3 shrimp. The shrimp were pretty good sized though! My friend got the spicy basil chicken, which she said was good but it did not look very appetizing. For the price, I would have expected a bigger bowl and a more protein. read more

Started off with the pork dumplings and veggie spring rolls. The dumplings were some of the best I've had. The spring rolls were super crispy but wish they had more veggies and less noodles. Ordered the pad Thai and spicy pork salad. The pad Thai had good flavor and chewy noodles but not the best I've had. My favorite was the spicy pork salad. Their menu selection isn't that big. They didn't have a lot to choose from. So because of that, I gave this place a 3 star. The location was around the building, which we got confused where to park, especially since we are from out of town. We ordered their papaya salad, Tom yum noodle-soup, and their beef salad. First time here. Cane here for lunch on a Saturday. It's located inside the farmer's market (or very very near). Parking can be found in the parking garage and the restaurant is a short walk from there. Cashier/Server was nice and gave recommendations. Seating is self sit, but they will bring food to you. Thai tea is really good. Purple lemonade drink is interesting and unique. Dishes are served on what looks to be recycle compressed bamboo plates with an interesting pattern and texture. Knam Jeep - very flavorful and savory. Pad Thai - rice noodles have a very bouncy texture. Served with dried chili flakes and chopped peanuts on the side, the dish has quite a kick if you mix all the chili in. Shrimp is cooked well, and also has a bouncy crisp texture. The pad Thai has an overall strong seafood flavor. Fried Chicken - extremely crispy outside and moist meat. Flavorful, and served with sweet chili sauce on the side. Server came by to refill water and take dirty dishes away. Overall, would recommend. Dishes seem more authentic and have good flavor. read more

This place is my new favorite Thai place! There menu doesn't have as many items as some other places but there's nothing missing really. Each of my dishes (chicken wings, papaya salad, pad thai) were each the best that I've had on his side of Bangkok. So glad to have a new place near downtown and the farmers market. Heads up: it's a little hard to find from the address alone but it's right across the street from The Shed where the farmers market is on weekends. read more

I have never eaten at a Thai restaurant like this. To start off, the cashier was worried about the phone ringing than the customers in front of her. Food wise? Worst after worst. The pad Thai could not be any worse. Once again, I have gone through multiple Thai restaurants in multiple cities in the US. This one is by far the worst. Crab fried rice? Signature dish of Thai cuisine? I was eating sticky rice instead. Terrible service. Terrible foods. Pricing? Off the roof. One appetizer. 2 entrees. $67. I agree this is not an outrageous amount for a small restaurant in Dallas but with the quality of foods and service? Save your wallet and go find dining. The curry was too spicy and beyond that not very flavorful. The fried veggie rolls tasted like they were cooked in oil that had become rancid - either that or the dough tasted old/stale. The food was way overpriced - it cost $30 for 3 egg rolls and a bowl of green curry - yikes, and it took them an hour from the time my food was ready to deliver it 100ft away - even the lady on the phone lied and said someone was walking it over to me "rt now". When I walked over myself they only had one table occupied. Too bad because they're super close to me, but that experience made Ka-Tip simply not worth it. read more

The place is nice and clean and the staff is friendly. They have outside seating also. The food is fantastic. The vegetable rolls are frozen which is unfortunate but they're still good. This is a fairly new Thai Street Food place. It is not a full service restaurant. You order your food, pay and they will bring the food to you. There are plenty of Thai Street Food restaurants in Dallas, but this one had some unique dishes. It was a very limited menu but two dishes really stood out. The first dish is the papaya salad. It was very fresh but what made it unique was the dried shrimp and fish sauce. The fried shrimp added a salt unique taste that I have never had in a papaya salad. I keep digging through the salad looking for more of the dried shrimps. The other dish that I thought was unique was the grilled pork salad. This is the first time I have ever tried this dish. The pork was super tender and the fish sauce or dressing was very very flavorful. There is a powder on top that I thought was peanut it was not. It tasted like ground sesame seed. They only thing I didn't like was the wait for the food. We ordered take out and probably waited almost 35 mins for our food. Hope they can work out the speed soon. read more

Delicious, super-flavorful food. Everything came out of the kitchen piping hot. And the owners are the sweetest people. They are genuinely passionate about bringing authentic Thai food to Dallas - they even said if they can't find real Thai ingredients here they'll have family in Thailand send it over. The environment is super laid-back. In the Dallas Farmers Market but this isn't a food stall; they're open during the week (parking in the garage off Harwood is free and they've added more street parking around there). Fresh, delicious Thai food in a great new space adjacent to the Farmers Market. We were warmly greeted and because it was our first visit, the darling girl working in the front asked us several questions and then helped us to find things off the menu we would enjoy. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. We had the Shrimp Pad Thai (Amazing!) and the very delicious dumplings. Let me start out by saying that it's my fault that I did not look at pricing. Me and my friend was charged $16 for my entrée and $18 for his entrée plus 2 tap waters at lunch time . I've been to a lot of Thai restaurants in Dallas and I lived here my whole life so I didn't think for one second that my entrée for lunch would've been $16 for some green curry and tofu . After we sit down we looked at our receipt and I was just in shock and thought to myself wow this must be some really good green curry with tofu. Well let's just say it was the worst curry that I've ever had, so water down and tasted like tapwater. I believe he ordered some kind of dish with an egg and chicken but it wasn't really chicken it was tofu like we weren't gonna notice. Next time I'll just stick with my usual place that I love so much. read more
