I discovered recently this little strip center...it's the first driveway east of the In & Out on Temecula Pkwy....there's a Wings and Things there and a few other independent spots that all pretty much look promising. They close at 9PM and at 8:30 PM I asked my wife about dinner....and mentioned this Kabob place I'd seen the other day. At 8:55 I called and they said yes....we'll take your pick up order and this to their credit . I like when a place acts like they appreciate my business. I'd ordered the Kafta plate for my wife, with rice and Greek salad as the two sides, and I ordered a gyros sandwich with fries, an order of grape leaves, a piece of Baklava for dessert. I'd SO much like to say that the food was amazing but I can't. I wish I could call it good, even. I can't. I have to give it a notch under even average. The grape leaves were very good. My wife's are better and she's a tough critic with stuffed grape or cabbage leaves...but she liked them. The Kafta was dry. We both agreed that the Kafta wrap at Pacific Pita is better. The fries are the thinnest you can get....they make In & Out's fries look like steak fries. They were hard and cold by the time I got them home.....6 minutes from when I left the restaurant. Don't order fries to go. The Baklava plain sucked. Most disappointing was the gyros. One expects a gyros sandwich to be meat-heavy...and the meat moist and satisfying. I HATE to have to review the gyros as harshly as I do but the meat was pedestrian.....it was not as good as basically any drive-thru that sells gyros, but the kicker was I've NEVER seen a gyros with such little meat. I literally had to take two large bites to get to where the next bite contained any meat. By any standard of measure....weight.....sight.........feel.....this gyros had a noteworthy small amount of meat. I'd been jonesing for a gyros for 6 months and it's pretty gloomy when you finally eat one and it doesn't satisfy your jones for a gyros. And it did not seem like the gyros meat we all know and love from the spit...this seemed less-than quality-wise....and much MUCH less than any typical gyros you've ever likely seen quantity-wise. The prices are much too high for this very pedestrian fare. I don't mind spending $42 on a takeout meal for two but I choke on it when I know I could have been happier spending $10-$12 for both of us at The Habit......or Carl's for that matter. Temecula seems to be rich in Mediterranean food options and you'd think that before throwing their hat into this ring that they'd be sure they had reason to believe that their food would really hold its own......but no. New place, very clean, great staff, but food can be improved. Yelp recommend this place to me because its new. I thought I would give it a try. I went there with my family and cousins, we were a big group. I called them ahead to make sure about space. The lady I spoke with was really nice and helpful. They have a good selection of food. they have family style dishes as well as individual if you would like. So we ended up ordering family style which they have depending on how many people you want it for. it comes with 2 kinds of meat, rice, salad (Cezar or Greek), hummus, bread. Really big portions. Also ordered a vegetation plate which comes with 4 different sides ( baba ghanouj, hummus, tabouleh and falafel) there was another one but I chose these four. Also ordered 3 salmon plates. I did not try the meat so I cant say much whether I liked it or not. I had vegetarian skewers which is basically veggies, I tried their tabouleh and I liked it. Their hummus and baba kanouj def lacked some flavor. I liked the salad. I would give them another try to see if anything changes/improves. Customer service and cleanliness of the place was 5/5. Really enjoyed the chicken shawarma - lots of flavor, juicy, tender chicken and very well seasoned. Legit! The Greek salad was also delicious. I did not care too much for the falafel but it was not bad. The garlic dip that came with the chicken is really good. Idk what to think about the Hummus while it's creamy it's kind of bland by itself. So I wouldn't want it with just pita bread. But was good on the chicken. I ordered the falafel sandwich and it was really disappointing. The falafel itself wasn't well cooked- like the fryer is too hot, because it was crispy on the outside, but inside it was doughy, dense, and almost cold. The wrap was obviously a Mexican flour tortilla from a restaurant supply (instead of a proper Middle Eastern flatbread), and the sand which lacked anything interesting inside. It looked like a skinny burrito, not a proper Falafel sandwich. The hot sauce was also something from the restaurant supply (an Asian-style hot sauce), not something made in house, which was disappointing. Given my disappointing experience, I'm surprised by the other good reviews... maybe people in Temecula haven't had proper Middle Eastern food, so they don't have any idea?? But once we got to the register we realized the two cashiers knew nothing about the food, hardly knew how to work the register and in the end gave us the wrong order. We payed for $60 in food and added a tip to be sent home with two sandwiches and some hummus. Completely dissatisfied. There wasn't enough food for 3 of us and we asked for chicken, got gyro meat. Super disaster. Also, tried to call to see if we could resolve and maybe pick up our correct order and the line is busy. Surprisingly delicious. We ordered three kabob plates: lamb, beef, & chicken, with rice, hummus, and salad for sides. The food was fresh and tasty. Well-seasoned, well-portioned, and served quickly enough. We were alone in the restaurant for most of our meal, but plenty of people came and went with take out orders. I had my first visit here a couple weeks ago, the lady that took my order was very helpful and nice. We ordered the beef kabob plate and attempted a kids plate but she made me aware that a kids order is essentially just ordering one kabob. The beef was well cooked and had a nice char on it, the veggies were nice as well. The sauces that accompanied were tasty. We got the rice and it was very meh, the texture was as if it was frozen. Have gotten several dishes, overall pleased though the shrimp kabobs I got earlier- the shrimp was really dry. BUT, got a salad tonight would not get again. Described as chopped tomatoes, red onions, cucumber... lettuce & herbs, with pita chips on the side. The chips were the greasiest I've had of any kind of chips- ever. I ate here on Thursday and will NEVER go back. The old man (owner or manager) was yelling at the staff and acting like they were savage beasts. This place used to be our go to spot. During the pandemic we made it a point to support local businesses. For some reason as the community continues to open and business is working towards being healthier this place has decreased their commitment to provide proper costumer service and quality food. Oh and they all of a sudden do not take orders from grubhub. They claim they can't access their app and so they don't take orders from them even though money is exchanged and confirmations are sent. Needless to say we won't be supporting this establishment anymore. Thank you for ruining our early Mother's Day get together. We should know better than to trust poor quality establishments and include them in important family events. read more

Knowing this, one might presume I've made more than just a few attempts at finding my next reliably flavorful, and ,hopefully, local Mediterranean spot. I'm not a trained critic in the culinary world, but my mouth is no stranger to food, and with probably more than 100,000 meals consumed in my lifetime, I think that's suffice to say the food hear tastes AMAZING! Give it a go for yourselves :) If you're a party of two, I recommend the Gyro platter (sides of rice and hummus) and then an order of falafel. That's a pretty hefty serving and I'm willing to bet it'll satisfy that sorry empty stomach. read more

I wish I could give it less stars. My husband and I walked in at 6:15pm tonight and was told they can only do take out. Granted they close at 7p but seriously...we can't eat inside? He has been wanting to try it so we said ok. I was a bit taken back that the cook wasn't wearing a hair net, that's never a good sign. Then sure enough we get home, I open our take out boxes, take a bite of rice, go to take a bite of the gyro meat and see a little hair sticking out of my gyro. Disgusting. I couldn't eat anything after that. My husband was grossed out and didn't finish his plate either. Waste of money and I called to demand a refund. Was immediately told they were closed for the night. I'll be in tomorrow when they open to get a refund. Horrible service, unedible food. ***update, I have tried calling multiple times to get ahold of the manager or owner and never can. Found my go to spot for Mediterranean food! Before Kabob House, it was Skewers which is good, but the service is slow and most of their plates comes with 1 skewer which is way under portioned. Kabob house has 2 skewers and 2 sides of your choice. It's definitely filling and their garlic butter is on point. Skewers does not have any garlic butter but they have decent sauces on the side. My usuals are chicken or gyro plates, both are good. I don't think it's 5 stars as my favorite place is Open Sesame in Long Beach which is definitely 5 stars. read more

UPDATE: this is overdue but since it's quite different than my previous review, it needs this update. Several months ago we arrived for lunch and the interior had changed... so we waited near the door for a moment to see what we needed to do to order lunch. Previously the order counter was to the rear of the restaurant where you would order and pay. Someone would bring you the food when it was ready. As we were starting to walk to the rear to order, a person approached us & asked us if we were there to dine in & could she seat us. We said we were but we wanted to sit outside. Another restaurant staff joined the first and they said they could seat us outside. The reason for this detail is because up to then, we'd always just sat ourselves after ordering & paying at the counter and we were a bit confused with the seating "service". So I asked if we could just go outside -- and they said yes, they would bring us menus. After seating ourselves outside, we waited for quite a few minutes but no one came with the menus. My husband & I were chatting about what we'd order, so when one of the ladies finally came out without menus (to take a drink order?) We said we were ready to order & gave her our order then. I mentioned to her that the restaurant set-up was quite different & she confirmed that & said the restaurant was under new management and they were now a "full service" restaurant. Once we ordered, we waited probably twice as long to get our food as we had before the new owner. Once the food came out, there was a noticeable difference in the preparation & the smaller portions. Not in a favorable way. The service for this new "full service" restaurant was slow, forgetful - did not bring the pita with the humus, and almost non-existent - we had to ask for utensils after the food was served & they didn't return to see if everything was okay, refill water, etc. When the check was given to us we were surprised by the amount. This prices have gone up significantly. And so for all these reasons, we have not gone back and sadly we would not highly recommend. read more

Love the Kabob House food but tonight we were very disappointed in the counter service. Went in for take out, ordered our usual and when it was rung up it was noticeably more than other times at $22.28. It has always been $19.58 for our take out meals. Asked the server why it was about $3 more and he went off about prices going up first of year and we can understand that but then Hubby noticed there was a $2.70 tip added in. He spoke up and counter person asked if we wanted him to ring up a new one. Of course we said yes and he did and our new corrected bill was exactly the same as it had been each time we got take out at $19.58. So people, be alert to your final bill. If we want to tip it our choice NOT to be done without our knowing or agreeing and certainly not being lied to about it. Still love the food! read more

I came in today, I am a regular customer. Today was different I was not treated correctly. The cashier gave me my bag tied up in four different knots, it was very hard to open the bag I assume this is because they didn't want me to look at the order. I came back to ask for a correction and the cashier told me it was my fault, he then started to shout to himself in Arabic, he doesn't know I am fluent in Arabic but I look Caucasian and he was asking god for help to deal with me and this problem.
