The Good: Very cute new coffee shop in redondo beach. The inside was clean and nicely decorated with comfortable seating. The staff was very friendly. The not so good: My sister and I got 2 drinks: the aloha coffee and a strawberry matcha. My strawberry matcha tasted very watered down and I was even questioning if there was any strawberry in it ( there was a tiny hint). On top of all that, my drink was not even filled up to the top. The aloha coffee was.... Interesting. My sister couldn't say that she liked, we really just didn't know how we felt about it. I wouldn't write it off, but it's probably an acquired taste. read more

He was so friendly and explained the great menu items to us and made the experience so special. Unlike all the other coffee shops, this one made the transaction personable and that great neighborhood vibe we all strive for in the South Bay. Unfortunately, the positives stop there as the various lattes we purchased were not good. We didn't even want to finish them and eventually tossed them. My first time here and I got the mokka drink which was delicious. If you are wondering if it has a high caffeine content, I don't think so. It seems normal but then again, I can drink two cups of Death Wish coffee and it doesn't really wake me up. The flavor I think is perfect. It's not overly bold or watered down. Also if you like drinks to be burning hot, you need to ask them to make it hotter. They make the drinks at a temperature that you can drink right away without burning your mouth. I shared the iberico sandwich and ham and cheese croissant with my fiancee because I wanted to sample it. We liked both. I don't think they were made there though I think I know where they came from and the place is local and it's homemade there. :) But it's okay though. I love supporting small local businesses in the area and this place has awesome coffee. The service is great and the staff is very nice. Second, your meat and cheese sandwiches were left unrefrigerated on the countertop, which can promote the growth of harmful bacteria like listeria. Third, your bathroom was unclean, the tables and countertops were dirty, and the employee preparing drinks smelled strongly of cigarettes. You failed to address any of these issues in your response to me. Ham and cheese sandwich, especially if it's been heated to melt the cheese, shouldn't be sitting out unrefrigerated for long. The USDA says perishable foods like meat and cheese should stay out of the "danger zone" - between forty and one hundred forty degrees Fahrenheit - for no more than two hours, or one hour if the room's over ninety degrees. After that, bacteria like Salmonella or Listeria can start growing, which can make you sick. A plastic lid helps with dust or bugs but doesn't stop bacterial growth. It really should be refrigerated or kept in a proper hot-holding unit if it's meant to stay warm. Original review: I went to the establishment today for the first time, I knew it was a new place and I wanted to check it out. It was not very clean, especially the bathroom where the toilet paper was sitting on the ground. There were sandwiches with meat in them, on the counter under a plastic lid without refrigeration. There was a guy there making drinks that smelled like cigarettes so bad it was stomach turning. Every time he spoke the fumes of cigarette smoke would come into my face. After driving all the way there because I heard of the new place, I did buy a drink, but had to turn around and take it back and get a refund because it actually was so bad. I got a hot almond milk latte and a pink matcha tonic. The latte was for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved it! As for mine, the ceremonial grade matcha paired perfectly with the sweet bubbly grapefruit tonic. My sister got the strawberry matcha too. There are a lot of coffee shops in the south Bay, so you really need to have a good product to get a returning customer. Kaffeine has BY FAR the best coffee. No special syrups, anything crazy, just a regular café menu. And they do it well. Better than well. The espresso is seriously the richest, creamiest and most luxurious experience. I always get a latte with almond milk and it would be a disservice to add any other flavors to it. It is such a heavenly, Rich cup. The owner is from Hungary and incredibly nice!
