Dannggg Kahlo Coffee is cute! The drinks and food were so delish! It's gotta be a part of the Frida's fam since they share the same parking lot and Kahlo is her last name. Everything was tasty. Service was amazing. Cute single bathroom inside. Instagrammable moments. This is in the Eastside neighborhood and worth the stop.

I finally got to check out this amazing Latina owned coffee shop. The staff is super friendly and answered all of my questions regarding the menu. I ordered a mango matcha latte and a Morenita Mia. The matcha was delicious. My husband said he really enjoyed the Morenita Mia as well. I also ordered a cinnamon roll and a tres leches cake. The cinnamon roll was 10/10. I would definitely order again. The tres leches cake was good as well. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other items on their amazing menu! Love the decor!

I loved the decor, and even better, the coffee. I ordered a tres leches latte (Amorcito Corazón) and a matcha tres leches pastry. Both items were delicious, and the service was fast. I went with family, so we had four drinks and some food items. I like the variety, while not large, I feel the selections there offer something for every day of the week mood. One lady in particular was so kind to us and chatted about a game night. It gave really good neighborhood friend vibes. The inside area is limited, but there are a few seats outside as well. I would definitely recommend!

I recently discovered this hidden gem of a coffee shop in Oceanside California and just had to tell others about it. The Kahlo Café is a small, Latina-owned Mexican coffee shop that's located near the downtown area, off Mission Ave, in an unassuming shopping center. This Mexican-themed café takes its inspiration from the famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. As such, the interior decor is very simple, yet cute, quaint and vibrantly colored, lending many notes to the Mexican culture. Their menu is also filled with many Mexican-inspired flavors such as : tres leches, horchata, mango & flan. There's also notes taken from trendy flavors such as matcha, cinnamon & banana. What I can really appreciate is the vibrant energy from the owner, Kelly, who is very active and attentive. From a friendly greeting, to patiently answering my inquiries and a hearty farewell, this place really knows how to make me feel welcomed! I can also appreciate that they make some of their pastries and desserts in-house. This means that there will be fresh banana purée for your banana latte and real chunks of mango too. Although the interior is relatively small, it's good enough for customers to sit and enjoy inside, and there's a little bit of patio seating as well. Along with a clean bathroom, this place is well-kept, and I know that it will do great in the future! I highly recommend Kahlo Café as a small business that is offering delicious Mexican coffee & snacks!

It was my husband's and my first time going, and we absolutely loved it! Both employees were so sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The decorations are beautiful, everything is very clean, and our drinks and pastry were delicious. We will definitely be coming back!

Stopped by this adorable new hidden gem in our own hometown. Got to enjoy some delicious cafecito with the owner Kelly, we got to try a slice of tres leches cake and a freshly baked banana bread! What a wonderful experience. If you're in the area, this place is a must! Thank you Kelly for hosting us. Blessings always. - The Cafecito Couple

I've heard so much about this spot and so many people talking about supporting this small business so I decided to finally come and see what all of the hype was about. It looks like a little hole in the wall spot, next to a laundromat and Mexican market. Plenty of parking... upon entering, the space is very nice. It's decorated beautifully. Definitely lots of aesthetic and makes for some really cute Instagram pics. Plenty of seating as well. They have food options, lots of different drink options, and a good selection of pastries. The purpose of my visit was to solely try their mango matcha. I have been craving this drink so bad and I really couldn't find anywhere else in north county that offers it so granted I was super excited to come and satisfy my craving. When I walked in with my boyfriend and our daughter, we weren't greeted. It didn't give much of a welcoming vibe... I walked over to the counter to order and there was just one girl in front of me who was finishing up paying. The girl working proceeded to make the drink but I stood at the register for maybe 5 minutes without even being acknowledged and it just felt really awkward. When I got my drink it looked good. The matcha color seemed solid. I personally thought there was wayyy too much of the mango added, and it took away from the matcha flavor. Every other sip was just chunks of super ripe mango. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE mango... but when added with matcha I feel like there shouldn't be a whole lot because it's overpowering. Price was $7 something... which is average for a cup of matcha. All in all, I would like to come back and try their coffee or other things on their menu. Maybe the girl working was having an off day? Just makes it a way better experience when you're greeted with a smile or ANY type of acknowledgment honestly.

Such a cute coffee shop/cafe! Service was really nice and the place was pretty clean. It's a bit tight in there but we managed. Ordered cafe de olla and horchata latte for drinks. To eat we ordered: a veggie sandwich, lox bagel, breakfast bagel sandwich and a pb&j...I have to say those sandwiches were amazing! I really enjoyed the veggie sandwich that was phenomenal! The coffee was so delicious as well! I am a sucker for cafe de olla and they made it perfectly!! Will come back if I'm in the area.

Very cute spot! The signage isn't super obvious so it wasn't the easiest to find but maybe that's just me. I got the salted caramel macchiato iced and turkey sandwich. Both were great. The server was very nice and helpful. It's kind of an odd location for a higher end coffee shop but it's close to me so hoping they make it!

The quality is there. I had the pleasure of having my morning coffee with Lox Bagel at this beautiful establishment. I ordered their Cafe De Olla that was perfectly sweetened and had lots of cinnamon, my favorite. When the lox and bagel came out I was happy. The presentation was great and there was a good portion of salmon. The quality of the salmon was great, topped with fresh dill and capers. alongside some slices of lemon. The Bagel was perfectly toasted and plenty of cream cheese. I enjoyed my Cafe De Olla and lox and bagel outside on their small patio area. This place is dog friendly. I was greeted with a friendly smile and very warm welcomes I will definitely be back.

Kahlo Cafe was beyond amazing. Food portions were perfect, food was delicious and savory. The drinks were incredible especially the banana matcha. We ordered an avocado toast, Pesto mots and tomato toast (Customers have an option to make it a toast or bagel.) for food, but we also got the opportunity to try their brownies and cookies. For drinks we got a banana matcha, strawberry matcha and a mango passion fruit refresher. The avocado toast was just right. Kahlo's cafe toast was the perfectly toast, not too toasted to the point where it's hard as a rock like some places and not too soft or soggy to the point where it's just a raw sandwich, it was just rich with the perfect crunch. The toppings were delicious, and the spread was just the right consistency. Everything just fit perfectly together. The P,M & T was just as delicious. The right amount of balsamic and toppings. And once again toast was perfectly toasted. Sweet and savory. Both Matcha drinks were incredible, u have an option to substitute the milk u want and add more toppings like cold foam on it (Yes they do have almond and oat milk). The Matcha by itself is the right amount of sweet. The bananas or the strawberries were not too over powering to the point where u cannot taste the matcha, Kahlo's cafe definitely made sure to be able to taste both the matcha and berries or bananas. The refresher was just as good, definitely recommend more than a pink drink from starbucks, it's incredibly refreshing. Overall we in fact did want to get the whole menu, everything just looked amazing and service was beyond amazing. We got the pleasure to meet the owner Kelly who was very welcoming, she made sure she greeted every customer to came in with the biggest smile. The place was beautiful, it included a swing which you're able to sit on for pictures! Perfect amount of tables to study and music was just relaxing. We do recommend going to Kahlo's Cafe! I know we will for-sure be back. Thank you.

It's a great spot to meet up with friends or bring my mom when she arrives at the Oside train station from Grover Beach. It's a wonderful place to grab a flavored latte, seasonal drink, a glass of wine and a lunch bite, or all of the above! I also look forward to wandering through their gift area every time, where they stock unique jewelry, candles, fragrance rollerballs and 'clean' nail polish, plants and pots, kids' merchandise, t-shirts, and other cute stuff. I always buy something extra (and special) when I come. Their coffee bar is open, as is the general space, and there is plenty of seating outside in front and in back. You can watch the baristas make your drink and peep the beautiful Italian espresso machine and lovely bouquet of dried flowers by the bar while doing so. They bring their food out to you and when your espresso drink is ready they set it on the bar for you to pick up. Definitely a place to hang vs. grabbing a quick drink and rushing off about your day. I always want to stay and catch up with friends or bring my laptop to do some work, and they never make me feel rushed. Truly one of my favorite coffee shops in North County and in SD in general. (There is another high quality coffee shop in Oceanside that has incredible coffee and pastries--I won't mention the name--but I sometimes sense an attitude from the staff there, and that is a bit of a turnoff.) Go to Communal...you will not regret it!

Overall, it's a little pricey as I paid around $17 for bagel and chai but both tasted worth it and I'll for sure be back to order the same thing again!

This afternoon ago around 3 PM, I sat outside just enjoying my plane on a cold windy day. While siting and just having my coffee minding my own business, i heard a loud scream. It turns out these loud rowdy middle school girls walked past by this coffee place laughing, they saw me for the way I look, of course, I was wearing all black, had eyeliner and black nail polish. I got called "hey emo!" which is a very very demeaning. I have not ever heard anyone call someone that name since high school in a long time since before early 2010s I don't care what anyone else thinks of me, I was not bothered at all. But just in case, i was so nervous but I had very little bit of strength to tell the store manager what happened and had the audacity to shrug it off, " if there's anything else I can do for you." Well, you know what then, since I was harassed and degraded, I will never come back here again. Calling someone "emo" is really degrading, it's derogatory, it's hurtful. it's the same thing to call someone a f@g, it's not OK to call anyone that. Jason was never helpful nor apologetic towards me! I never let any name-calling get to me, but I don't deserve to get hurled out while I was simply sitting outside at the tables alone just having my coffee. Jason can go fuck himself! Fuck you jason! Asshole!!!!!

On our way home from our mini vacation today was the perfect day to stop by as it's a weekday and there wasn't much/ hardly any traffic we around just past 1030am and found metered parking near by immediately. When we arrived there were no other customers we got to take pictures of and with the house and motorcycle. I'm not much of a pie person the only pie I usually eat is pumpkin but I was open to any other pastries they offered. My husband wanted to try the pies and I ended up ordering my sister some to take back home. We ordered 2 sets of the 3pack. One order all apple pie the other was cherry, apple and a blueberry. I also added a dark chocolate brownie and lemon bar. As my order was ready and called the kind lady said she labeled everything and added some extra. We walked on the boardwalk for a few minutes then walked back to eat our pies at their outside cover patio. Saw that she gave us an extra 4pies!! That was so generous. I decided to give them all a try and oh my... they were all delicious. It was warm, the crust was alittle flakey it had a nice little crunch yet also soft and the crust flavor was SO delicious. Loved that the flavors were not overwhelming sweet! The dark chocolate brownie and the lemon bar were cold and didn't think anything special about it a bit in the sweeter side.
