    kimbab

We ordered kimbab (tuna, tonkatsu, sausage, bulgogi), which was enough to feed two adults and a toddler and baby. The presentation was immaculate, and I was in awe at how big the pieces were and nothing falling apart. The kimbab tasted good and homemade. Took about 20 min to make, which isn't bad.

This spot is really nice and cozy; but, the food is amazing hands down the best kimchi fried rice/ cold noodles Ive had. Not to even mentioning the service;like the food, amazing as well. The people that work here are very sweet and quick didn't have to wait long before getting our food. 10/10 would recommend

The food was fantastic! The stone pot rice was crispy and perfectly seasoned. The nori added even more flavor. The kimchi fried rice was cheesy and also super tasty. Both came sizzling and super hot. Service was great!

Every one of the 6-8 tables were filled so there was a bit of a wait (10 minutes max) at noon on a Friday. Only two banchan were given - kimchi and pickled radishes. We ordered: 1. Kimchi cheese fried rice with bacon ($19): - The food was fairly hot but I was expecting it to sizzle to the point of getting crispy rice after reading the reviews. I suppose it's safer if it's not that way. - It had only a hint of spiciness but was seasoned well otherwise - Not much bacon in there - mostly just rice 2. Bulgogi rice plate ($23) - A lot of rice and not as much meat considering the price - Meat was unexpectedly sweet Overall the flavors were good but I genuinely feel like "okay" is an appropriate rating for this place.

I've been trying to look for a place that makes sujebi near me and came across this super cute, quiet, and homey place c: The workers are very kind and attentive. I've been here twice now and here's what I've tried: ~Kimchi sujebi: Spicy and flavorful! Sujebi texture is great. Very enjoyable and the portion is great for sharing ~Ddeokbokki (spicy rice cake) with ramen: Delicious and very well made :) no complaints here ~Sesame sujebi: A little bland and not as flavorful as I was hoping :c maybe I was supposed to eat it with something but I won't be getting this one again I love the hospitality and coziness here, and I can't wait to be back to try the rest of their tang & guksu menu!

Traditional K-restaurant set up; nice and refreshing on a hot summer day.

For some reason because the plaza is hopping with so many hyped and trendy restaurants, I thought this place was a modern street food concept and hadn't tried it despite living 5 min away. Come to find out they specialize in very humble handmade nuders and hand torn dough, homey classic soups like sujebi, soybean noods, and kalguksu. The stocks are traditional and clean. The restaurant is clean and the service is welcoming. It feels homey, unassuming, no nonsense, and delivers on home style flavors. They have a case of banchan selections to buy and the street food, though yet un-sampled, is definitely classic with rich vibrant rabokki and ttukbokki, ramen soup, gim mari, jeon. A nice and low key place to chat with friends or family alike and definitely an authentic vibe that isn't trying to be fusion or up-charged. My awesome self went as a loner and felt completely comfortable. But I would like to go with a larger party to sample more of the BYO casserole dishes.

The interior has been changed to a more hip and happening bunshik restaurant. It's been painted a light green and they have a banchan store set up at the front where the register is. We came on. Wednesday and it appears that their hours vary day to day. The schedule said they close at 3pm on Wednesdays so please note the schedule before visiting. Their kimbap always hits the spot. The pieces aren't too big and just the right size to pop into your mouth. Their fish cake soup comes in a cute bronze pot. This is so so, not really worth ordering. Their jjolmyun however is so delicious. Sweet and tangy with lots of veggies like cabbage! Will come back again to have their spicy rice cakes again.

I came across this small, hole in the wall, mom and pop shop while I was searching for kalguksu in the area. The owner isn't completely fluent in english but is very sweet and always makes sure my side dishes are filled. I recently returned from a trip to korea and have been searching for a place that serves authentic knife cut and hand torn noodles and was lucky enough to find Kami. Normally, I order either their spicy kalguksu (knife cut noodles) or their kimchi sujebi (hand torn noodles). I love the texture of both their noodles and flavor of their broth. Their soups are light while still being very filling because of their large portions. Their house kimchi is also very delicious but is definitely on the spicer end. This place has become one of my regular spots to return to for warming noodles soups. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a smaller more homey feeling in a restraunt and you're craving korean food.

Due to COVID, my office would cater lunch from this local small business once a week (sometimes multiple times a week!). The employees in our office clearly loved it since we would continuously order from here often. Their food always has an amazing variety and it tastes like home-cooked Korean food. We always ordered the bento boxes, which typically come with a side of soup and seaweed sheets. The bentos are like a surprise every time! The chef always chooses something different for us each week. The banchan, soup, and side dishes always vary. My favorites have been the jjolmyun, cuttlefish kimchi, yeobochubap, kimbap, bossam, and the shrimp tempura! The mackerel here is SO GOOD and definitely my favorite item in the bento. They cook it perfectly and they have minimal bones. I will note... there have been times that there are hairs inside of my bento or soups. I normally am not grossed out by this, but I do feel the need to state this since it has happened a few times now.

The wait is always not too bad (usually max 30 mins) which goes to show how fast the service is. The menu is pretty simple but always really good. Banchan - 10/10. Refillable banchan is always amazing but it's even better when it's all my favorites. I love the radish, kimchi and cucumber banchans the most and this is exactly what they have. It is so refreshing and adds a lot of flavor. Bibim naengmyeon - 10/10. The noodles are chewy and refreshing. They do not skimp out on the toppings. AND the spice is totally doable. My personal favorite part is always the combination of the banchan and the noodles. SO GOOD. Seolleongtang - 10/10. I love how hearty this meal is and how it never fails to warm me up from the inside out. This is the perfect comfort meal. The meat is also so tender and the noodles really soak up that broth. The broth is the best part, you can season it to your own taste but the base itself is already pretty great! Very savory. And the plus is that they give free yakult at the end when you pay so it's a cute lil free sweet treat to enjoy!

The service is really prompt, and there's a button to ask for help when you're ready to order or want a refill on banchan, for the check, etc. The interior is nice, modern and slightly upscale. They asked us if we preferred a bbq table and we said we didn't and were led to a bench table. I got the galbitang (the special magnum galbitang was already sold out for the day), and my friend got the chef's special rice cake and dumpling soup. Both came out perfectly hot but not burning, and were the comforting, rich, savory and flavorful stews that we were craving. The galbitang had a generous amount of rib meat that was tender but not falling apart, and the perfect amount of glass noodle. The broth was clean and savory, and I really enjoyed the bits of jujube. I tried a bit of the rice cake and dumpling soup as well, and the dumplings were super large with a soft tofu? filling that was really enjoyable with the creamy soup. Special shoutout to the banchan - one of which was raw marinated crab which was super sweet and tasty with the rice. I also really appreciated the barley tea and the sweet pumpkin soup at the end for dessert, which really round out the experience. There's also a pumpkin porridge in the beginning as an appetizer, but I didn't love it because it had a bit of a raw rice flour type flavor to it. Overall, Chungdam is a classic that serves great, flavorful and comforting food, with excellent service and is a great, well rounded experience!

We had high hopes, but the meat was very disappointing. We came early when it wasn't busy at all (we were basically the second table), so it wasn't a rush issue. On the positive side, the ambiance is nice and I really liked their unique banchan selection. Because of the meat quality and the high prices for what we got, I won't be coming back. The bossam took a while to come out, and by then we were already pretty full off of the pancake, soup and bibimbap. Service sizes are generous, and this definitely would've been enough for 4+ people to share. There was a great assortment of different banchan - my favorite is the jelly! The pancake was nice and crispy, with a good amount of seafood, the bibimbap had a great amount of crispy rice at the bottom and the tofu soup was comforting and exactly what we were looking for. The bossam had a lot of meat - I kind of wished there was more radish and napa to go with the meat, but it was tender, not too fatty, and satisfying. We had plenty of leftovers to take home.
