Had the chicken bibimbap and it was really good. Loaded with veggies including spinach, cucumber, broccoli, bean sprouts, carrots, and more. The rice got nice and crispy on the hot plate, and they give you gochujang to mix in which really brought it together. Portion was huge. Around $27 which is on the higher side, but fair enough for how much food you get. Banchan was solid too. Kimchi, pickled radish, and glass noodles were all good. Staff is super friendly and there's plenty of seating, though weekends get busy. Despite being quite packed it wasn't terribly loud and could still have a conversation over the meal.

We had the veggie tofu ramen and I'll admit, I was a little unsure at first but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The flavors were balanced and satisfying. They let you choose your spice level and my husband went all in with a 10/10 and that was so good! What truly stood out was the generous spread of sides like black rice, boiled potatoes, glass noodles, fermented beans, bean sprouts, kimchi and an egg. It made the meal feel abundant yet thoughtfully put together. This is a cozy spot that's definitely worth a visit!

This is a fantastic and wholesome authentic Korean restaurant. There is a lot of warmth and welcomeness from the staff. We were seated immediately for a party of 4 on a Saturday evening (6:45 pm). The restaurant is clean, but tables are a little close to each other. The food is top notch. We had an order of BBQ beef that we loved by our daughters. The free kid's tofu soup was perfect for children learning to eat the dish. The raw soft shelled crab was heavenly, cold, and tasty. The serving size for the set menu was large and could easily feed 2 people. Parking is free, but limited due to sharing it with other businesses. My family left happy and full, had delicious leftovers the next day, too.

Words cannot describe the amazing experience I had here. It's a very unassuming restaurant on the outside but it's filled with love and comfort. My friend and I came for cold noodles on a hot day and the staff immediately started helping us. They pulled us two extra chairs just so we had a place to put our purses. When our food came out, they helped show us the best way to eat it and how they like to do it. They added cold soup broth into it and told us Korean people usually drink hot tea/water with this so they gave us some. They even put bibs on for us so we wouldn't get our clothes dirty! They showed us that they really care about their customers and the food they serve.

Nice restaurant specializing in Korean tofu soups. I got mild spicy which wasn't spicy so that's great. The bowls are a bit small and I wish I came for lunch instead of dinner because the prices then would be more reasonable. Small side dishes were not refillable and shared between 2 people. We also only got water refilled once even though restaurant wasn't busy.

Highly recommend the BBQ Beef & Octopus tofu soup! Really flavorful seafood flavor with the added benefit of marinated beef--absolutely fire. My sister got the standard beef soup, which I thought was significantly less delicious. Not as much flavor ): Banchan was delicious--esp the potato and japchae. Super friendly and attentive staff. Spacious restaurant space. Clean women's restroom. Decent pricing and good portion size--good amount of protein in the soup. Overall, had a nice experience here (:

The ambiance and service here is rushed, fast, and casual. Great, if you're looking for that. Plenty of vegetarian options here- tofu soups and bibimbap. Few vegetarian banchan options, but thats expected and always tasting fresh. The food could have used more flavor and spice but it came piping hot and fresh. Location is convenient with a parking lot around.

This location has spicy raw marinated crab!! I believe the other sgd locations don't have that. Located in a plaza and next to a teaspoon, parking is a blessing here when we got there at 6. The place was empty on a weekday, and people slowly started to fill the restaurant at 7-8. I ordered soybean paste tofu soup cuz I was feeling not too spicy today, the soy bean flavor is really strong, and I didn't like it as much compared to the normal one. But let me recommend this "weird" tofu soup combo that my friends ordered: ham and cheese. That's the name, and it tastes amazing. It is spam in regular tofu soup with a slice of cheese on top, to my surprise, they go really well together! That will be my go to order next time. The service is also very nice and friendly, the side dishes come quick and all taste amazing.

I came in before a crazy time at work, and I'm so glad because the amazing food provided me the energy to get through the night. I ordered the set meal which comes with spicy raw marinated crab and tofu soup. I loved that the crab wasn't heavily salted so that I could keep eating it no problem! The service was fantastic. I actually walked in during the servers having their lunch, but they were so welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was empty inside save for one other table of guests and people coming for takeout orders. The interior is very old school and dated, but I'd absolutely come back for the set meal again.

The best SGD house! 3 top favorites here: kimchi pancake, tofu soup, raw marinated crab. Kimchi pancake: I was taken back by the pricey kimchi pancake. But trust me this is the crispiest pancake you will ever have. This is not a soggy, flappy pancake. It's fried to perfection every time. Tofu soup: good hearty soup base. Always piping hot. Raw marinated crab: one of the few places to have raw marinated crab in the Bay Area. Nicely marinated, not spicy. Service is standard, place is clean.

Amazing food and great service with just one man working the tables. I rarely see burdock in bibimbap with beef bibimbap so this was such a treat. Also neat to see it served on a sizzle stone plate instead of the bowl. The banchans were great and fresh, the kimchi was our favorite. Unlimited refills as with any Korean restaurant for dine-in. We chose white/non-spicy for the seafood/beef combo tofu stew and it was flavorful and had the signature anchovy taste.

Solid tofu soup that really hit the spot. God selection of banchan as well. Very casual place to grab food.

First time coming here with my family and had a positive experience. I ordered soondubu seafood soup and it was really delicious. I also liked how many options there were for the spice level. They definitely didn't skimp out on the clams, shrimp, and other seafood. My family also enjoyed the banchan and I especially liked the braised potatoes. The staff there are really sweet and when I was leaving they gave me a lot of candy even at my big old age . I'm glad we tried a new spot out!

She goes above and beyond to make sure every visit is enjoyable and always checks on our table to make sure everything is perfect. Service was good. food was delicious! the bulgogi was generous portions given the $$. The kal bi was delicious. We got the lettuce wrap (aka leaves) glad we got it because it made it feel healthier. banchan: came with: square little rice paper wraps (not as healthy as lettuce but something), kim chee, sprouts, marinated onions with peppers (spicy! but I'm a wimp, any spice is too much for me), jap chae I didn't like the self-order on tablet. (at least it wasn't order off phone, I really hate that) at other restaurants if you order enough, they "service you" free steamed egg. Here I had to buy it myself. negative, there was a dripping pipe on the floor, and we had to point it out for them to wipe it, but then it dripped more. was that water? or grease? who knows. we had to suggest they put a towel so I didn't have to stare at it creeping towards me all night. fun korean pop music in background. cheaper feeling ambiance. definitely coming again for the food and minimal line. didn't like that tip defaulted to 20% minimum (then 23%, 28%) but at least they calculate that pre-tax.

It was actually the perfect group to test it. One of us had marinated crab in Boston and loved it, another tried it in Busan and wasn't a fan, and I was a complete first timer. We ordered the Soy Sauce Marinated Raw Crab, Beef Short Rib Soup, and the summer special Hwe Naengmyeon (Spicy Cold Raw Fish Mixed Noodle). The restaurant is spacious, and seeing that most of the customers were Korean definitely gave us high expectations. Service was friendly and our food came out in about 10-15 minutes. The raw crab came with a bowl of rice, quail egg, fish roe, roasted seaweed, seaweed salad, and pickled daikon. My friend mixed everything together for us like a pro. Soy marinade was well balanced, the crab had a soft, jelly-like texture and tasted really fresh, not gimmicky at all. My friend who didn't enjoy this dish in Korea actually ended up liking this version, and my other friend even said it was better than the one she had in Boston. As for me, I really enjoyed trying it for the first time. That said, it's definitely an acquired taste and probably not for everyone. If you're not ready to eat raw crab, I'd actually recommend trying the soy marinade with soft tofu or boiled eggs first because the sauce itself is delicious. The Beef Short Rib Soup came with tender meat, but the broth was just okay. Not bad, just not something I'd order again. The Hwe Naengmyeon, on the other hand, was really refreshing. It definitely had a spicy kick, the noodles were soft yet chewy, and the raw fish had such a unique texture that I honestly don't know how to describe it. Served cold with fresh veggies and half a boiled egg, it was perfect for a hot day. Also, banchan were delicious and free refill, our favorite was the Konjac noodle mayo salad and Gyeran Mari (Korean Egg Roll). Overall, I'm glad I finally got to try soy marinated raw crab, and I can definitely see myself ordering it again. Such a fun first experience, and I'll be back to explore more of the menu.

The bossam took a while to come out, and by then we were already pretty full off of the pancake, soup and bibimbap. Service sizes are generous, and this definitely would've been enough for 4+ people to share. There was a great assortment of different banchan - my favorite is the jelly! The pancake was nice and crispy, with a good amount of seafood, the bibimbap had a great amount of crispy rice at the bottom and the tofu soup was comforting and exactly what we were looking for. The bossam had a lot of meat - I kind of wished there was more radish and napa to go with the meat, but it was tender, not too fatty, and satisfying. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. Jang su jang is still a classic staple, and has a delicious offering for almost any korean craving you could want. It's a little pricey, but comparable to other options in the area with consistent quality that makes it worth it in my opinion.
