    Fish egg soft tofu
    Shirley Q.

Visiting for the weekend and I wish we had fish egg tofu soup in socal! Service was prompt and ban chan was fresh especially the kimchi. We walked over so can't say anything about the parking. There was no wait at 2pm.

We had the veggie tofu ramen and I'll admit, I was a little unsure at first but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The flavors were balanced and satisfying. They let you choose your spice level and my husband went all in with a 10/10 and that was so good! What truly stood out was the generous spread of sides like black rice, boiled potatoes, glass noodles, fermented beans, bean sprouts, kimchi and an egg. It made the meal feel abundant yet thoughtfully put together. This is a cozy spot that's definitely worth a visit!

Had the chicken bibimbap and it was really good. Loaded with veggies including spinach, cucumber, broccoli, bean sprouts, carrots, and more. The rice got nice and crispy on the hot plate, and they give you gochujang to mix in which really brought it together. Portion was huge. Around $27 which is on the higher side, but fair enough for how much food you get. Banchan was solid too. Kimchi, pickled radish, and glass noodles were all good. Staff is super friendly and there's plenty of seating, though weekends get busy. Despite being quite packed it wasn't terribly loud and could still have a conversation over the meal.

Words cannot describe the amazing experience I had here. It's a very unassuming restaurant on the outside but it's filled with love and comfort. My friend and I came for cold noodles on a hot day and the staff immediately started helping us. They pulled us two extra chairs just so we had a place to put our purses. When our food came out, they helped show us the best way to eat it and how they like to do it. They added cold soup broth into it and told us Korean people usually drink hot tea/water with this so they gave us some. They even put bibs on for us so we wouldn't get our clothes dirty! They showed us that they really care about their customers and the food they serve.

Highly recommend the BBQ Beef & Octopus tofu soup! Really flavorful seafood flavor with the added benefit of marinated beef--absolutely fire. My sister got the standard beef soup, which I thought was significantly less delicious. Not as much flavor ): Banchan was delicious--esp the potato and japchae. Super friendly and attentive staff. Spacious restaurant space. Clean women's restroom. Decent pricing and good portion size--good amount of protein in the soup. Overall, had a nice experience here (:

This is a fantastic and wholesome authentic Korean restaurant. There is a lot of warmth and welcomeness from the staff. We were seated immediately for a party of 4 on a Saturday evening (6:45 pm). The restaurant is clean, but tables are a little close to each other. The food is top notch. We had an order of BBQ beef that we loved by our daughters. The free kid's tofu soup was perfect for children learning to eat the dish. The raw soft shelled crab was heavenly, cold, and tasty. The serving size for the set menu was large and could easily feed 2 people. Parking is free, but limited due to sharing it with other businesses. My family left happy and full, had delicious leftovers the next day, too.

Squid (?) banchan !!! MY FAVE OUT OF ALL THE BANCHANS

Wow ?! How havent I been to this SGD Tofu House before ?! A friend recommended since it's one of her favorite Korean spots in South Bay so of course I had to check it out. I like that their menu has photos, makes perusing that much easier & accessible. I also noticed their prices are cheaper than other Korean restaurants, which is a plus in this economy ! Of course I had to get the beef soondubu ($21.08) and wow did it HIT -- just what I needed. I think I got mild/medium spicy, but will get spicy next time for that extra kick ;) The spicy beef stew ($23.14) was also flavorful and filling. The banchan also stood out to me which was a surprise since most places' banchans are good, but not AMAZING. Less banchans than some other places but that's okies! Idk if it was squid or what but the banchan that doesnt look the most appealing that's attached to this review was my favorite. The kimchi wasnt too overpoweringly vinegar-y or sweet either. Seems like there's plenty of food options here -- cant wait to come back and try their seafood pancake, cold noodle, or even their set menu which includes raw marinated crab ?? I can see parking being difficult in this small strip plaza during peak hours, but still lots of potential spots. Cant wait to come back to get my soondubu fix, which I crave often :)

Nice restaurant specializing in Korean tofu soups. I got mild spicy which wasn't spicy so that's great. The bowls are a bit small and I wish I came for lunch instead of dinner because the prices then would be more reasonable. Small side dishes were not refillable and shared between 2 people. We also only got water refilled once even though restaurant wasn't busy.

The ambiance and service here is rushed, fast, and casual. Great, if you're looking for that. Plenty of vegetarian options here- tofu soups and bibimbap. Few vegetarian banchan options, but thats expected and always tasting fresh. The food could have used more flavor and spice but it came piping hot and fresh. Location is convenient with a parking lot around.

This location has spicy raw marinated crab!! I believe the other sgd locations don't have that. Located in a plaza and next to a teaspoon, parking is a blessing here when we got there at 6. The place was empty on a weekday, and people slowly started to fill the restaurant at 7-8. I ordered soybean paste tofu soup cuz I was feeling not too spicy today, the soy bean flavor is really strong, and I didn't like it as much compared to the normal one. But let me recommend this "weird" tofu soup combo that my friends ordered: ham and cheese. That's the name, and it tastes amazing. It is spam in regular tofu soup with a slice of cheese on top, to my surprise, they go really well together! That will be my go to order next time. The service is also very nice and friendly, the side dishes come quick and all taste amazing.

The best SGD house! 3 top favorites here: kimchi pancake, tofu soup, raw marinated crab. Kimchi pancake: I was taken back by the pricey kimchi pancake. But trust me this is the crispiest pancake you will ever have. This is not a soggy, flappy pancake. It's fried to perfection every time. Tofu soup: good hearty soup base. Always piping hot. Raw marinated crab: one of the few places to have raw marinated crab in the Bay Area. Nicely marinated, not spicy. Service is standard, place is clean.

Amazing food and great service with just one man working the tables. I rarely see burdock in bibimbap with beef bibimbap so this was such a treat. Also neat to see it served on a sizzle stone plate instead of the bowl. The banchans were great and fresh, the kimchi was our favorite. Unlimited refills as with any Korean restaurant for dine-in. We chose white/non-spicy for the seafood/beef combo tofu stew and it was flavorful and had the signature anchovy taste.

I came in before a crazy time at work, and I'm so glad because the amazing food provided me the energy to get through the night. I ordered the set meal which comes with spicy raw marinated crab and tofu soup. I loved that the crab wasn't heavily salted so that I could keep eating it no problem! The service was fantastic. I actually walked in during the servers having their lunch, but they were so welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was empty inside save for one other table of guests and people coming for takeout orders. The interior is very old school and dated, but I'd absolutely come back for the set meal again.

One of the most popular K-food restaurants in the Bay Area, and their food is always a 10/10!…read more I've come back here so many times because all of their soups are so comforting, especially the galbitang - my absolute favorite. It feels just like a warm hug in a bowl! Their cold noodles, both spicy and non-spicy versions, are refreshing and perfect for cooling down summer heat. We also almost always order the mo deum soo yook for extra protein. It's a combination plate with boiled beef brisket, tail, and tendons. You will have to season them yourself with salt and pepper, but beef is always so soft and tender. I highly recommend ordering this only if you're dining with a group of 3 or more because the portion is huge! After finishing your meal, they'll serve you a yakult, super yummy and great for digestion (super thoughtful of them) They're busy and almost always have a waitlist, especially during peak dinner hours. From my experience, the longest I've waited was about 45 minutes, but normally it's only around 20-30 minutes. There's a boba shop nearby where you can grab a drink while waiting. Overall, I have nothing to complain about with this place. Try it once and you'll understand why everyone loves it!

I am really surprised at the portion we received being way smaller compared to what i typically get when i doordash or order for take-out... and i order take-out from here every week or two! my friend got hounded for a tip in the parking lot after paying which was really off putting. at first they said they couldnt read what he wrote. then, when he clarified- she took about 5 minutes begging for a tip in the hot sun... the thing is- he didn't want to tip as we didn't receive any service at all. all they did was just take our order and give us our food. no check-ins during our meal. they took away our water before they even took our card to pay.... it all felt super rushed near the end. out of all the times I've had take-out from here, this dine-in experience missed the mark for us. debating on if it is worth it to come back. very disappointing as this was my friend's first time trying this place and he drove all the way from east bay!

Service was good. food was delicious! the bulgogi was generous portions given the $$. The kal bi was delicious. We got the lettuce wrap (aka leaves) glad we got it because it made it feel healthier. banchan: came with: square little rice paper wraps (not as healthy as lettuce but something), kim chee, sprouts, marinated onions with peppers (spicy! but I'm a wimp, any spice is too much for me), jap chae I didn't like the self-order on tablet. Honestly, it was a pleasant surprise. What makes this place stand out from most Korean restaurants is that you can enjoy so many classic Korean dishes in one meal--soy sauce marinated crab, fresh handmade cold noodles, stews, seafood hot pot, grilled intestines, stone pot bibimbap, and more--without having to visit multiple restaurants. Here are a few signature dishes we tried based on our server's recommendations: Bibim Naengmyeon (Handmade Spicy Cold Noodles) These noodles took a little longer to come out, and our server explained why--they don't start making the noodles until you place your order. The dough is pressed fresh in the kitchen before being served, giving the noodles a wonderfully chewy texture. Served with crushed ice, beef, cucumber, egg, and Korean pear, it was incredibly refreshing on a hot day. It's actually pretty rare to find restaurants in the Bay Area still making cold noodles fresh to order. Soy Sauce Marinated Crab I'd always heard that Korean soy sauce marinated crab is one of the country's most beloved seafood dishes and had seen it countless times in K-dramas, so I was excited to finally try it. The crab was well-marinated, with sweet, tender meat that was full of flavor, and even included quail eggs. If you love seafood, this is definitely worth ordering. Stone Bowl Bibimbap The stone bowl arrived still sizzling at the table. Mixed with beef, spinach, carrots, bean sprouts, fernbrake, and a sunny-side-up egg, every bite was delicious. My favorite part was the crispy golden rice that slowly formed at the bottom of the bowl. Gal Nak (Spicy Braised Beef Short Ribs with Octopus) (Mild Spice) This was perfect for sharing. The pot was filled with tender braised beef short ribs, octopus, tofu, rice cakes, enoki mushrooms, and vegetables. As everything simmered together, the rich broth soaked into every ingredient, making each bite even more flavorful. Every table receives a generous selection of Korean side dishes, including kimchi, japchae, fish cake, cucumber, pickled radish, seaweed, and more. Our server even came by to ask if we wanted free refills before we had to ask, which made the whole dining experience feel very welcoming. Besides the food, I also loved the atmosphere. Right at the entrance is a row of traditional Korean fermentation jars, and the restaurant is decorated with Korean-style ornaments throughout the space. The owner also stopped by to chat with guests and mentioned that he personally shops for fresh ingredients every morning to keep the food consistent in quality. I love their fresh, sweet kimchi banchan. The place is nice and clean and the service is friendly. It's nice that they also have private rooms available. I liked it enough but if someone asked me a Korean place to eat, this isn't one that would come to the forefront of my mind. It's good but not mind blowing.

The decor is a little dated. Service was efficient and met expectations. We ordered Wang Mandoo, LA Galbi, and a Cold Noodle Combo. The Wang Mandoo were described as king size boiled dumplings with beef, pork, and kimchi, and the sizes did not disappoint -- indeed very huge, even larger than the mandoo I've had in Korea. The meat was tender and overall very tasty. The LA Galbi came out as large slices of BBQ short ribs and were tender, juicy, and flavorful. The cold noodle combo came with cold noodles in broth plus bulgogi. You can pick other protein but that's what we chose. The cold noodles were refreshing and the noodles were chewy and bouncy. The portions were fairly large. The bulgogi was probably the most disappointing of all the dishes we had. It was tender beef but lacked some bbq flavor. I appreciated the wide variety of Banchans that were brought out to our table. They also gladly refilled the banchans as needed.
