Lunette is in the Ferry Building so other than parking in SF it's an easy place to get to. Order at the cash register on the way in, pick a table and food is delivered. Tables are simple with metal seats for each person, just like you might find at the night market in Cambodia or Lao. We started with a self created tasting flight of Asian soft drinks. Lychee, Passion Fruit, Guava and Soursop, a tropical fruit you don't see every day. Soursop was the winner with the lychee and guava as runners up. Our table ordered one vege curry with fried chicken (oxymoron we know but the banger of the evening- you can add meat to the vege dishes), one noodle dish and a seafood soup. The curry sauce had just the right balance of curry, coconut and spices. Broth with the noodles was outstanding, it must be one of those 24 hour creations of love -- layering umami with savory deliciousness. This is a great find recommended by my daughter and now I'm recommending Lunette to you. The owner literally brought the recipes back from her Granny in Cambodia with all of the secret ingredients you would find eating at Granny's home. It's perfect for vegetarians and gluten free people as nearly everything can be made to accommodate. Meat eaters can add fried chicken to just about any thing and it is all super tasty. Highly recommended. Get there early, they don't take reservations.

We got there before the big line and maybe waited 10 minutes for food! The staff were very patient and kind. It was hot and crispy! The friend chicken was really yummy! The sauce was very tangy but refreshing. The Cha Spey was okay! It was tasty but was sitting in SO much liquid. I can see that being a takeaway issue. I'd go back again and try a noodle dish. They looked really comforting.

I really loved the interior design. Everything was clean and well put together. The restaurant had a smaller, cozy feeling but still felt spacious enough to sit down and enjoy a meal. My favorite parts were the cultural decorations and paintings throughout the restaurant. Little details like that made the experience feel more authentic. Even the cashier area was beautifully designed and added to the overall atmosphere. Customer Service - 5/5 The service was very good. The server was extremely welcoming and friendly -- I believe she might have been the owner. She greeted us with a beautiful smile and created a warm environment that made the whole dining experience even better. Small interactions like that make a restaurant feel more personal and memorable. Food - 5/5 Dish Ordered: Trei Chlaing Chein Kroeung (Pan Fried Catfish) 5/5 My first time trying Cambodian food, and honestly this was an amazing introduction to the cuisine. This was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. The fish was cooked perfectly -- crispy golden skin on the outside while staying incredibly tender and flavorful on the inside. The sauce was what brought everything together. It was light with the perfect consistency, not too thick and not too heavy. You could taste the lemon coming through, adding the right amount of freshness and kick. There was a little spice, but not the kind that takes over the dish. It created a wonderful balance where every flavor complemented each other. The combination of the fish, sauce, citrus, and seasoning was simple but executed perfectly. Every bite made me want to keep eating. It was honestly delicious. Would I Order Again: 100% Yes. This is easily a dish I would come back for. No surprise this restaurant was previously Michelin recommended -- you can taste the quality and care behind the cooking. Additional Comment: I've always struggled with the idea that eating healthy means sacrificing flavor. A lot of healthier foods like salads can sometimes feel unsatisfying, but this dish reminded me that food can be both healthy and incredibly delicious when done right. I have passed by this restaurant ever since I was young, and it's amazing to see that it's still here after all these years. Seeing a restaurant with food this good not filled with customers honestly feels like a shame. Great food deserves to be discovered, shared, and supported. From the welcoming service, beautiful cultural atmosphere, and unforgettable food, this was an incredible first experience with Cambodian cuisine. I will definitely be back. This is the kind of restaurant you hope stays around for many more years.

We ordered a meat curry‑style dip with fresh vegetables, stuffed wings, beef skewers, soup, and fried rice. Each bite instantly reminded me of my mom's cooking--it was incredibly comforting and truly authentic. Everything was packed with rich, savory flavors except for the fried rice, which was a bit bland for my taste. That said, every other dish completely delivered and exceeded my expectations. I would definitely come back anytime I'm craving comfort food. I highly recommend this place--it's a total gem and such a great find for traditional Cambodian cuisine.

I confirmed with the server that they used to have a location in Oakland Chinatown, but moved in 2013 or so to this location and one in Alameda. This spot does not have a dedicated parking lot, only street parking. Make sure to read the street signs. My group and I ordered the Slaap Moarn Borg (boneless chicken wings like angel wings), Spicy Tofu with Lemongrass, Cha Kathiw (like Pad Thai), and the Sachkor Ang (beef skewers). The food came out relatively quickly one at a time. Everything tasted good, but the ones I enjoyed most were the Cha Kathiw and Sachkor Ang. I liked it so much I came back a second time within the week for take out! The noodles were a perfect chewiness and had delicious flavor that wasn't overpowered by peanuts and tanginess, which was nice. The beef skewers has a lot of lemongrass bits and it comes with a nice red-orangey dipping sauce. It was very flavorful, which is why I can see it's staple here! The wings lacked some flavor, but it was soft enough and not dry. The tofu dish had a good balance of tofu with mushrooms; I'd order this again in person! There is plenty of seating inside with a men/women's restroom in the back. The interior is painted in orange and yellow hues and has pictures of Cambodia all around. The service was very friendly, attentive, and quick. They made sure our water was filled often, which is a plus in my book! This is a great spot to come with friends, family, or just yourself. Between the four of us, we shared a variety of dishes, including their Champa Wings, Nam Kaow, Lao Sausages, Yum Nom Tok, Champa's Fried Rice and Pad Thai. Of these dishes, my favorite was easily the Nam Kaow. This dish had so many layers of flavors and textures. I could honestly eat a whole plate of this myself and be satisfied. Every grain of crispy rice was fried to perfection and there was a wonderful sour and spicy tang throughout each bite. The other dish I really enjoyed was the Lao sausages. These sausages are packed with so many different herbs and spices. The lemongrass flavor was especially prominent. Like the Nam Kaow, this dish also went really well with the fresh mint and lettuce that's provided on the table. There's a good reason why this unassuming Thai and Lao neighborhood restaurant has a line out the door: the food is absolutely delicious. Definitely one of my favorite meals I've had in 2026 -- I can't wait to stop by again.

Do you like the funk?…read more Our server explained to us the Lao version is more funky and fermented, while the Thai version is more mellow. We went with the Lao version. The Thai iced coffee was delicious and strong! As it should be. It did give me the jitters though because I'm a weak sauce. We were a party of ten and I was able to make rezzies via phone for a Friday evening at 6:30pm no problem about a week beforehand. The kiddos ordered à la carte, and five of us adults had the following: - BMV ultimate papaya platter with Lao sausage, angel wings and crispy pork. Crispy pork was legit, papaya salad definitely had that extra funk. The angel wings were crispy and meaty and my friends loved the Lao sausage. One even said "it's like tom yum soup in a sausage". It was very lemongrass forward which is not my thing, but that's my problem. I feel we could have ordered à la carte and that would have been a better deal than $75 for the platter. Some of it was fluff like the cabbage, rice and pork rinds. - Khao soy soup: Fiancé thought it would be creamy and coconut-y like the Thai version but it wasn't. I did enjoy the flat noodles but they were all stuck together. - Pia pla ka pow (fish with basil): Good one. The fish was moist and flavorful. The veggies were al dente and delicious too. - Sakoo: Unique! I enjoyed the chewy mochi exterior and the savory ground pork filling. It needed a sauce. I just used the chili sauce that was on the party platter. - Laab Gai: This fell flat for me. I'm not a huge fan of organs though. - Nam khao fried rice: One of our favorites! The crispy pieces really made this dish. Would definitely order this again. - Mango sticky rice: Served warm. Very sweet mango! - Purple rice with egg custard: Also served warm. This was ok. - Side of rice: HUGE serving! Unfortunately it was clumpy and hard, which means old. Street parking only. Get the nam khao and mango sticky rice!

So Let me know if you guys need help in this area, I specialize in catering and time management. (The most important) The customer service was amazing. The young lady Laila who is the cashier was very sweet and respectful and still kept it professional when I was "in my feelings" about the wait time. So I appreciate you Laila for understanding my feelings and not taking it personal after I was told food would take 45 minutes. Unfortunately, We received our order at 2:05pm. Never in my life have I ever waited this long for food unless I was cooking it. This is why I can't rate it a 5. They did apologize for the long wait time which i appreciate for acknowledging that it did take hella long. The ambiance of the area was nice. It is a food truck and they have a nice area to sit and eat. It is four picnic tables but you have to claim them before others do. If you are with a group, and want to sit and eat, I suggest one person claim a table and the other person(s) orders the food.
