I've hired Kathy's House Cleaning Services two times in the past. The cleaners do a decent job, but scheduling is a disaster. These people are unprofessional and have no concept of time. They tend to show up 10-15 minutes late, which was never a big deal. Today, however, things didn't go so smoothly. I had scheduled a 10:30am cleaning for today, Thursday October 11th 2018. The owner texted me on Wednesday evening asking if they could reschedule to 2:00pm. As a courtesy, I moved my schedule around to make it work. At 1:39pm, they texted me saying that the cleaners would arrive at 2:50pm because the prior appointment ran longer than expected. A few minutes later, they pushed the ETA to 3:15pm, blaming traffic. What kind of dimwit schedules back-to-back appointments in the Sunset and Financial District without accounting for traffic? I totally understand that unexpected things happen, and people run late. However, the owner was extremely rude and unapologetic in her communication. I would have happily accommodated if she had shown a modicum of professionalism. Keep in mind that I reconfigured my work schedule so that she could take on an additional appointment. The least she could do was be prompt. After I expressed discontent, she cancelled the appointment, sent the cleaners home and said she didn't need "rude" clients like myself. I texted a week ahead and scheduled an appointment (for 10 am) for deep cleaning kitchen (including microwave, refrigerator, window), bathroom and living room. At 8am, they texted me and said they would arrive at 11am. But they arrived at 10:35 am. They cleaned the bathroom and living room very well. They could have done better with the kitchen. I think they were in a hurry to leave. I ended up cleaning the freezer section, and some parts of the kitchen floor. read more

While I was eight months pregnant with my second child, I finally decided to hire help to clean my house since I couldn't move any longer. This review is for the owner's communication with me and for the price of the service. I would like to start with the positive. Hugo, the business owner, was very prompt in responding through Yelp and the cleaning itself was fine. The actual cleaners who cleaned my unit were very nice. However, there was a miscommunication regarding the price. I contacted many cleaners on Yelp with the same rating for quotes and was always given a flat rate. Hugo gave me a per hour rate; but, because of the way it was written, it wasn't the most clear. Because of this miscommunication, I ended up paying the most out of all the quotes I received! I would've just gone with the cleaner who did my rental unit's move out cleaning last year who gave me a flat quote that ended up being $65 less!! Or I could've chosen any of the other cleaners I contacted because they had better rates and the same ratings. I strongly recommend contacting other companies who can do the same level of work for less. UPDATE: The owner called me to rectify the mistake, so I change my review from 2 to 4 stars. read more
