Receipt of extra charge for disposable files

They add at the end a disposable file charge. They make it seem like is a gift and add it to the total. I have gone 3 times to which they have added it. The last time I said I didn't want the disposable files the lady in the front gave me attitude said it was part of the charge, to which I stated that I did not ask for it nor needed

SCAM! I've been here about 3 times and every single time i've left feeling robbed. I asked for a fill on my gel x set and had her cut them down and asked for a design... ok but what was repaired??? BS! I'm also pregnant so i decided to spoil myself with a VIP pedicure, first of all i get charged for her to remove my old color.. that i got with them lol but second of all come to find out the lady added acrylic to my big toe without my permission which is the reason for the "repair" fee on the pedi. RIDICULOUS AF! and the cherry on top that disposable file they give you at the end you assume is free? NOPE! they charge you for it. In my case they charge me 2x because they used one for my pedi and one for my mani, not only are we paying for an expensive ass service but we're also paying for the products they use on us without knowledge. and then if you look at the bottom they still charged me AGAIN for the files as a "product fee" this place is ridiculous. THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU SN ITEMIZED RECIEPT UNTIL YOU PAY! The lady at the front desk will purposely have a huge language barrier so that if you confront her about it she'll have no clue what you're talking about. I will never come here again and the nails are mediocre asf for the price. Heavenly nails spa in santa ana is 10x better if you want more bang for your buck, so is Top3DNails! ladies please steer clear

i told her to cut the nail shorter and said they'll be shorter when she files them. also wanted french tip not so thick and she just said "oh not too thick? ok" but proceeded to do the same. she left a hair trapped in the middle finger nail and also cut my pointer finger. i did tell her i wanted silver chrome and said that WAS chrome and at that point i just gave up. idk if i would be back, maybe not with the same person had them done yesterday but already want to take them off

My sisters, mom, and I have been coming to Kathy's Nails since we were kids in high school and now in my 40's this is still the only place I trust to regularly do an amazing job on my claws. They've always treated me as a valued guest and welcomed me like family. If you're looking for fun art and designs ask for Miss Lisa or Miss Kat, and Miss Cindy will make sure you're taken care of. Any of these talented ladies can do wonderful work to help you leave looking fierce!

I've been wanting to try gel x and I found this place on IG. I did not check Yelp but nevertheless it was a pretty good experience. I got gel-x and a gel pedicure and was literally in and out in an hour! Lisa did my gel-x and Daisy did my pedicure and they're both really sweet. All of the ladies here seem nice and speak English fairly well. I'm not sure how I feel the gel x quite yet or how long it's going to last but I believe I was overcharged...$15 alone for just designs and $50 alone for gel-x when I was told it starts at $30? Overall, their prices are expensive. It was $32 for a pedicure + $10 for gel + $5 for gel take off.... One thing I thought was really weird is they give you a file/buffer set to keep, and also will charge you $1 for it...and it's advised you bring it back or else you'll be charge $1... Maybe I'll come back.

So I usually come to Kathy's to get my pedicure, but I don't know if they hired someone new but the woman that helped me cut the skin next to my toe nail and it's been bleeding non stop! I told the woman it hurt and she proceeded to apply acetone to it, making it burn !! I told her it hurt but she kept trying to stop the bleeding and well now I'm home 30 mins after and it's still bleeding

This is my first time coming in so this was already nerve wracking for me. I was already having a bad day and I had to get rid of my old nails that I got done with my personal nail lady (home based). The reason why I couldn't go to her was because she was booked and lives an hour away. Anywho, I come in and I did get greeted nicely, cool you earn a star. And not only that but I only needed to wait a good 10-15 mins as a walk in, you earned another star. Once I sat in the chair to get my nails done, no conversation whatsoever. Never asked how I am, never asked why did I come in, never even asked if the sky was green today. It was so so awkward! The drilling on my nails hurt so badly to the point I wanted to leave. I didn't care if they were bare. What set me off the most was that since these were gel-x nails, the lady took off everything except for the glue! And she was ready to put on nail polish WHILE THERES STILL GLUE ON MY NAIL-- I legit had to tell her that's there's still glue on my nail and she looked pissed as if that's not her job? She still nail polished my nails with glue on top of it and sent me away. Btw they're very sneaky on pricing. I paid 51 bucks for a half-assed nails. 20 for mani, 10 for take off, so where did the other 21 come from? 10 gel and 10 for cat eye... what a joke. Still don't know where that 1 dollar came from but I guess that's her tip. Never coming here again and I should have listened to everyone. Thanks for making my day worse. read more

Would highly recommend giving this place a chance. I came here a day after getting a full set acrylic elsewhere, however, Kat was able to reshape them and redo my french! What can be done? How about following basic health code procedures and stop cutting corners. 1. The filter was not cleaned after each use, in fact it had orange slim. (2) the foot bath was not sanitized in between customers, I watched as it was cleaned with a paper towel, water and the towel used to dry my feet (3) emery board should not be reused. (4) tools should be disinfected in between customers. Then to add insult you ask that I pay in cash or be charged a fee for using my ATM. Because the $110 I just paid was not enough? My advice to the owner and management, stop cutting corners. Your desire to make money is being put ahead of the safety and health of your customers and employees. SHAME on you. read more

I've come here and my family has come here. Also, my friends have come here. My recent visit wasn't for me though. A friend of mine needed a ride to get her gel removed and get a manicure with regular polish. I was there for about an hour and a half. The staff is always so friendly and sweet. Cindy was the one at the counter asking us to sign in and then called us up when one of her employees was open for the next client. Walk-ins are welcomed & you can do appointments too. It does get really busy, but you're not waiting too long to get your name called; also it makes sense that it's busy, that's when you know this nail salon does your nails the way you ask them to. The pricing is reasonable and can't wait for the next mani-pedi. From my point of view, you can go alone, unless you have kids. The reason I say this is because, there aren't too many seats available, but like I said it moves along, but I feel like the less people crowding the better. read more

Love Kathy's nails.. I travel all the way from Lake Elsinore just to get my nails done by the awesome Lisa. She is amazing and very talented nail artist , I'm never disappointed with her work. I've been going to Kathy's Nails on and off for 20 years, and I can confidently say they have the best nail art in Santa Ana, hands down. It is on the expensive side, but anything worth something usually is. Kathy and Lina's work is chef's kiss. You will definitely get what you came for here. read more

Well how do I begin. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would!!! I went for a manicure and pedicure simple Gel x for my nails no acrylic and paid $188 dollars for a simple job. I have uploaded pictures and honestly I'm just looking at reviews 3 star place! Go figure I will never come back to this place. I pay $120 for both my daughter and I. It was a mistake coming here unfortunately I was around the area and this is what I get for not going to my original place. Not to mention they were rude. read more

I like this place but recently I went to get my gel tips removed and they pushed my whole hand down into a bowl of acetone. I didn't realize it was acetone until the end. My hands were so dried out and my left arm got a rash. read more

Don't do it girl! Went in for a gel x take off and a mani.... But she was so careless, cut me several times and did not fully take off the gel x. I was so upset at the several times she cut me then wanted me to soak my cut fingers in acetone so I decided to not get the mani. I just wanted to get out of there. Expensive for a take off and I am here at home finishing the job. read more

Free hand my nails did amazing work! Second time coming here, I use to go to Art Nails in the same shopping plaza but they changed owners and all new nail techs. Love it here will be back l. I went to do full set, I showed the lady what I wanted and she told that she was able to do it. She was doing my acrylic nails first and I realized she was almost done because she was putting oil in my hands I looked at my hands and it was nothing I wanted, I asked for some crystals and she forgot, made me wash my hands and put some weird glitters then the other lady started to do my pedicure I ask for something similar and she told me she wasn't able to do it, giving me choices. I understand that sometimes they are tired, ready to go home which is completely understandable but if they can't do the services just denied. I will leave a picture. No acrylic or dip powder was added to my nails, just a natural nail with regular polish. read more

Went in on 12/1/19. Waiting 20min with no appointment which was normal. I asked for an overlay fill with gel. She was very nice and started placing the powder on my nails and she took her time and everything looked even. She then painted then black per my request and then my nails started looking lumpy. I asked her to fIx the one finger i pointed out and because I had black nails it was so hard to tell if all my nails were even. I leave the salon and OMG MY NAILS WERE HORRIBLE. LUMPY, BUMPY, UNEVEN! This was my first and LAST TIME COMING HERE. NOT WORTH IT LADIES!!!! I'm going back to my normal salon to take all this crap off the nails tomorrow :( read more

First time I came I got pedi & acrylic set I only was going to come back because the Matte has been chipping off, no biggie whatever I was going to get that fixed today. What shocked me was the lady said there's "no strollers allowed, no kids allowed". This is a first anyways just posting this so other moms can be aware. The reason why I gave this place 2 stars is because of the service. Do not come here if you are looking for nails that will last. Come here if your are in a rush. They are very VERY quick. The dip only lasted a day before it started chipping off. Vi did my dip. I paid $67 for my dip that included my cuticle cut and French tip on my natural nails. Be aware that they will charge you for the file they use on you and give it to you without saying anything! read more

I always came and there was a wait -which is not their fault but my own since I never made an appointment. The nails always complimented my engagement ring. read more

Linda & Laila was amazing. They advised me on how to take better care of my nails. I was treated like a Queen for my manicure and my pedicure. We talked and really had a good time. Overall a great experience. Lots of colors to choose from. The place looks clean. Chairs and tools look new. The massage chair was nice. Like everything prices range and there are cheaper places but I can tell why they're still busy. Techs were very meticulous. My gel manicure was $30 ($20 reg Mani +$10 gel) and the pedicure was $35 with callous removal and sea scrub. +$1 transaction fee (I paid cash) +$2 for the chanclas. read more

I LOVE this place! I have been coming here for just under a year. I ended up moving to Colorado a few months ago...and I can't find anyone else who takes care of me the way they do here. I come back once a month to get all my services done and i make sure to make an appt at least a week ahead of time cuz they are that busy! Hannah does me hands and Daisy does my toes! They both make sure I get exactly what i want! I have never left here unhappy with my nails...and we all know it's hard to find a great nail place!! read more

went on friday for a gel manicure ($42), it chipped the next day went back to get it fixed today and Daisy just painted over the chipped part and didnt even clean up so that the glitter looked right and chipped right after because she dodnt go in and fix it the right way. NOT A GOOD PLACE read more

I come in and nobody is available and they didn't know what I wanted (even though I said it over the phone) AND THEN I get told that I will actually need to wait a little longer for what I wanted because they're busy....What's the point of calling to make an appointment? Then after all that, they tell me my nails were too short and couldn't do French tip... and then filed my nails unevenly... They take their time with gel and gel x application, but if they're going to take their time on services they need to learn to manage their schedule to accommodate and stop giving inaccurate appointment slots just to get people in... It seems really disorganized

I usually have to get them done because how much they grew out, never had any chipping or lifting. Lin knows how to shape my toenails just how I love them. If you prefer a gentle massage she's your gal. Cash only Parking is limited but next building over has parking. Not the Chinese food place. I'm simple so $90 will get my gel pedi and gel builder nails. You can't beat the price especially for the quality. Make an appointment because they stay booked and busy.

While the price is affordable, I will not come back due to sanitary issues & incorrect methods they use. We made appts for 12 pm and my nails were not started until 12:45 pm. My nail tech (Michelle) was very nice and she does nails well, however, she used the nail grinder tool to clean my cuticles. My cuticles HURT for hours after my nails were done and weeks after the appt, I still have cut up cuticles and scabbing from the blood (pictures attached). I wish I had known in the moment that this method is not okay; it should have been a cuticle cutter. Once I got to my car and quickly googled that I found: Grinders are made for shaping hard artificial or natural nail surfaces, not living skin. Using a high-speed rotating bit on the delicate cuticle and the nail bed can easily cause painful skin tears, deep friction burns, and severe infections. These aren't correct practices used by this salon; they are taking the easy route to get it done quickly. Would not recommend. I would give them 1 star but Yelp removes those reviews easily so that's why I'm putting 2-stars.

Glamorous! Sexy! I was referred here by friend. I walked in and was greeted by Anna, she did an amazing job. My friend got her hands done 2 weeks ago and the quality and craftsmanship of the work is superior compared to previous work I have received. The nails were aligned, even, and the paints lasted for a very long amount and kept it's color very well. I will definitely be making an appointment for a fill acrylic-gel two weeks from now. Recently, they updated and added a NEW SPA Package, which comes with a lot of great amenities, really worth it! I've seen these packages in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, they go up to hundreds of dollars, but these ladies charge less compared to other surrounding cities. The Price to the Quality of the work is WORTH IT. Description of Store: First of all, this store is very clean. I had to use the restroom, and the restroom here is very well-kept and clean, they had scented wall plugs in the restroom that kept the place smelling fresh, and smell like flowers. The floors at the salon is kept clean, the air ventilation of the salon is excellent, I felt relaxed and at easy because the store air quality was clean and not overpowered with chemicals. The Massage Chair, spa chair here is clean and very comfortable. I enjoy using the massage feature function they offer here at the spa chairs. So comfortable, especially working at an office all day when I slouch over and work on the paperwork. From the impatient "Are you ready yet?!" to the rough, less than two minute "massage" this experience was a disaster. I went in for a manicure, was treated with disdain and contempt. The woman handling my manicure had dirty nails, as in dirt UNDER her nails, and was clearly not in the mood to be at work. She did not smile, look me in the eye, or make conversation. Her utensils were not cleaned as she went and left debris on the table that I was expected to set my hands on. She was rough with the sharp instruments and massage. Afterwards when letting my nails dry she sat there ignored me, spoke to the other employees in an asian language then proceeded to ignore me when I tried pleasant small talk, by pulling out the Spanish Market advertisements and appears to be deep in thought while reading the weekly deals and yawning, all while I am still sitting there waiting for my nails to dry. At the end of this disaster of an experience she rudely said "You don't have cash?" because they do not accept tips on ATM or Credit cards. As if she deserved one!!!! Other things I observed while there were the prehistoric tubs that were carried out and plugged in to provide the pedicure experience, and ALL of the ladies with the exception of one were not welcoming or social at all. This was a HORRIBLE experience. I will not be returning ever again. I was incredibly disappointed. read more

Unreasonably pricey! The pedicures are not all that, I've been to better ones. This place will charge you even for breathing! The girls are trained to push their little pedicure menu to the max. They will charge extra to even cut down or file your toe nails. The manager Cindy wants the girls to only speak English, so whenever they slip she charges them $5!!!! Mind you, she hired them and knew they spoke little English. It's really sad when you ban people from speaking their first language!!!! And then to top it off she takes it out their pay check. Any mistake they make or any mishap she charges $5!!! And Cindy is not even discreet about it she tells them right in front of the customers, she's very unprofessional. Honestly, what was the point of making the nail salon prettier if the owners and manager were gonna be unprofessional and unreasonable!? read more

I enjoyed the environment of the salon, the salon is clean kept very well. I will definitely be returning. I recommend this nail salon, and give this salon a maximum 5 Star Rating! My timing was very important, and I understand the ladies's time here are also important, so I schedule an appointment with them to have my acrylic nails done. This way they had everything prepared for me. The acrylic nails is really worth the money because of the durability and quality, after I was recommend by my friend to come here. So i have to personally greet clients by shaking their hands at work when i meet them up for an real estate sales and for open house shows. I recently visited this salon with my mom, and boyfriend unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. My mom was there for a gel manicure, and despite us arriving on time, they had her waiting for over 30 minutes -- I was already finished with my service, and they hadn't even started on hers. The service was subpar, and the staff was unprofessional. One of the employees made some sassy comments when I declined to upgrade my pedicure, which felt unnecessary and rude. Overall, overpriced and poor service. First and last time visiting, and I would not recommend this place. read more

I have been going to Kathy's nails ever since I can remember. I would always ask for Cindy, because that is who I was recommended to. And she does an excellent job, and she is very friendly. Anytime I go in I feel like they all jump on to help me out, so that feels great. Even though I always like Cindy to do my nails. I came to realize when she was not available anyone else that was would do a great job as well. I always go there and I think I will always continue to go there.
