    Pork Katsu Curry Udon
    Nathan G.

Acceptable Curry Udon with Pork Katsu served up quickly here. This seems like more of a Doordash pickup spot, but they do have a few tables. For $17, I did get a filling but not exactly cheap lunch, and it was quite spicy as I requested. For scratching the Japasese curry itch, it'll do, but Go Go Curry at Tokyo Central in Gardena remains the go to for this sort of thing in the South Bay

I was genuinely shocked when I opened this katsu sandwich. The photos advertised a thick, juicy pork cutlet, but what I got was almost entirely breading with an extremely thin slice of pork inside. Half of the "katsu" was just fried batter. It honestly looked like they used shabu-shabu pork slices and layered breading around them to make it appear thicker. The sandwich in real life looked nothing like the photos. The meat was so thin that every bite tasted mostly like oil, breading, and bread instead of pork. A proper katsu sandwich should have a substantial cut of meat, not a paper-thin slice hiding inside a giant crust. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this felt very misleading and nowhere near what was advertised

Really generous portions and good food! We had the rosemary chicken katsu Sando, egg salad sando, Garlic Udon Noodle, & Poke bowl. The staff was very cheerful and the katsu bar has a simple interior. Come here for a quick bite.

Was craving a katsu chicken plate and this place perfectly delivered. Friendly service and comfortable ambiance. Soooo good.

1st time trying. Easy to order online as the menu is pretty straight forward and the food would be ready fairly quickly. I go...get my food...come home to eat it and BOOM! My order was incomplete. Damnit. I got my 2 chicken katsu meals but not the side of Kimchi Mandu that I paid for. Well that's $8 wasted on nothing. On the upside of the review, the chicken katsu curry meal was pretty good. Filling and all right as far as curry goes. Overall: Probably won't make this place one of my regular spots for lunch or take out. I'm on a Japanese curry hunt at the moment and it's a bit of a drive. I could probably find something closer. Cheers.

Overall pretty decent, especially since there's not a ton of similar food options in the area. I thought the katsu itself was pretty terrible... hard, overcooked, just bleh. But the rice, curry, salad, and mac salad I thought were really good, especially at the price! The egg sando was also terrible in my opinion, absolutely nothing like the sandos you get in Japan. I would not order that again or recommend. You order from Katsu Bar on the little screen in the corner, not at the poke counter. Located inside the poke shop with a small private parking lot.

"Oh, man.....!" Was my initial reaction when I realized it's in a shared spot with Poke Bar. (Just to clarify. I didn't really have a good run here back in the day, and it didn't help that one of my colleagues mentioned she's tried this place and wasn't too thrilled about it.) But! I was curious about their curry sauce. Since the chain of The Curry House shut down so abruptly a few years ago, I've been on the hunt for Japanese curry. And that's what got me here. Pork katsu curry it is! Except the first thing I see right behind the order screen is a sign saying they're out of the pork katsu, soooo... off to a not-so-good start. I was still curious about the sauce, so chicken katsu it is. I also got a side of spicy tuna yubu pocket. Both sides of the resto were quiet busy with serving dine-in, take out and online orders. I guess there are followers for both cuisines because everyone behind the counter was hustlin'! It also looked kinda cramped back there, but, I guess they found a way to make it work. I was outta there in no time. I was also back at work in no time. Packaging is impressive. I appreciate that they were able to section every part of the meal. (My mini-OCD really liked that!) Packaging for the yubu was nice as well. SPICY TUNA YUBU POCKET: It's not as spicy as one might expect. It does have a kick, but pretty minor at that. It did add to the taste experience with the tuna being seasoned well. However, the pocket was mostly rice. I had too much left after finishing up the fish. Delish, though, I just felt they could cut down on the rice a bit. CHICKEN KATSU CURRY: I love love LOVE the packaging! It looked like I took an actual bento box back with me! It helped with keeping everything in their place during transport. Katsu was breaded thin and seasoned well. I dipped it in the curry sauce and made it even better. Sauce was good, but can be better. Don't get me wrong: it wasn't bad at all, but it has potential to one up itself. The salad, ginger and the mac did their part as palate cleansers. Delish, overall. FOOD: 3.5. SERVICE: 3. Very little interaction, so average at best. VALUE: 3. PARKING: Shared private with 7-ELEVEn and Farmer Boys. I came through during a lunch rush and it wasn't an issue. OVERALL: 3.25. Just FYI: I noticed most food orders are taken out, but if dining in is your thing, there are limited seating options available. Okay first run. Should I have the urge for a 2nd, here's hoping they have the pork cutlet by then. I might even give Poke Bar another shot...

Been here twice and unfortunately the food was just okay. I really love dill and egg sandwiches and had high hopes for the egg salad sandwich but both times I've ordered it the crust was still attached and there was NO DILL! C'mon guys!? Don't advertise the sandwich this way if you aren't going to serve it. Service was good, they were friendly and the interior tables were clean. I want so bad to love it but it's just been okay.

Dish: kimchi mandu Curry Plate, waffle fries, yabu pocket spicy tuna My scale rating: 8.5/10 Total: $24.00 Parking: plenty I think everything was tasty. Service was great. My only note is that the they use the end of the tomato as plating with the root part of it. I think for plating a dish this doesn't look pretty, but I am not sure what the cook is thinking. Also, some of the tables were still dirty when we were looking for a table. There were not other clients beside us and occasional two that came to get poke while we were eating our food, so they don't have an excuse to make sure that the tables get cleaned.

This place is indubitably great. The katsu chicken is tender and crunchy and the different components of the box complement each other very well. I don't love the macaroni salad, it's a bit sweet but it isn't bad. I got this box to-go. The staff were very sweet and the spot is cozy.

This place is new and located inside the Poke bar restaurant. The service was great, and the workers there were friendly. There are a couple of tables in the front, with additional seats in the back. It's a great place for a casual meal since you place your order at the cashier and seat yourself. We got the chicken and pork katsu curry plates, as well as the chicken and pork katsu sandwiches with waffle fries. They were all really good but I think our favorite was the pork katsu curry plate because it was cooked perfectly, so deliciously flavorful, and came with a macaroni salad and a regular salad which was really refreshing. Honestly such a great balance. We'll be back! There is also a parking lot which is a plus.

Tried this new little hidden gem and it was delicious! Fast service, decent pricing, great atmosphere. Great customer service. The whole family enjoyed their food. Each of us got their signature dish which was the Katsu curry signature plate. If u can't handle spicy get the regular curry. They also have macaron ice cream sandwiches!!! Come check it out!!! Also I didn't wait long for my order at all!!!

Their $15 curry katsu plate (pork).

Another new franchise where they put premium price on Korean "boonsik" food. Okay, let's be honest. This is somewhere between Korean and Japanese style. But definitely not a premium pork katsu style / quality. First and foremost... I don't know if it's about this particular location. But the pork tasted very "porky." Which means the premade katsu was in the freezer too long. I say overpriced because at $15, this quality katsu should be a lot bigger. Curry amount was lacking to cover the whole katsu and rice. I am happy to see a lot of new businesses popping up (especially Koreans) introducing something different and trendy. But I hate how they are artificially driving the price up while bringing the quality down. Another place where you walk out thinking that was not worth $15.

In the end, he had to cancel the entire order and redo it on the left iPad because, for some reason, the order never showed up on his system. After sorting everything out, we waited another 15 minutes for our food. We ended up taking our order to go since the restaurant is very small, with only one table outside. But tbh, It was absolutely delicious. I think this might be the best Japanese curry we've ever had, even better than the old Curry House days (RIP). You can customize your bowl by choosing the rice size, white or brown rice, and up to three toppings. We added an omelet egg, chicken karaage, and pork cutlet, and everything was fantastic. I ordered the mild curry, which was the perfect spice level for me, while my husband got medium and really enjoyed the extra heat. I like how they give you a big tub of curry sauce no matter which rice bowl size you choose. We'll definitely be back and remember to use the left iPad when ordering.

My husband couldn't settle on just one dish, so he went all out with a chicken oyakodon, grilled salmon, steamed eggplant, and a stir-fried chicken and bean sprout dish. The restaurant itself is narrow and deep, which actually reminded me of some of the small alleyway restaurants we visited during our travels in Japan. It added to the cozy and authentic feel. The service was attentive, especially when we requested a few extra items. One thing that really stood out was their ponzu sauce. It seemed to include green onions and perhaps a touch of vinegar, and it was absolutely delicious. It paired perfectly with the sashimi, steamed eggplant, and even the chicken dishes. Next time, I'm definitely going to spend some time studying the menu beforehand. The portions were generous enough that we had leftovers for another meal, and we were lucky enough to find parking right in front of the restaurant.

The noodles were the right firmness as well. However, the chashu pork and pork belly were pretty mediocre. I know this sounds harsh but hear me out. Even after bathing them in the broth, they were dry and not tender. I didn't enjoy the flavored egg either. It was overly boiled and barely marinated. Despite the shortcomings noted above, I'm still giving this place four stars because the service is fantastic. The staff is very nice and provide incredibly fast service.
