Good Japanese comfort food especially considering that this is a small, family owned, take-out only restaurant. We tried the special combination and marinated meat combination plates. The various meats were mildly seasoned and potato croquette was crunchy on the outside and creamy inside. The owner/cashier is so sweet, kind and gentle.

Love mom and pop Japanese places in the southbay! This one is also a gem. The woman in the restaurant is the most adorable and kind! Got the sukiyaki, Hamburg set, and special combo. All came with bean sprouts and a small salad. All were delicious but the Hamburg was surprisingly super yummy! it's more of a takeout place, so calling in orders is beneficial.

It's been a while since we have been at Teri's Place. Came back on 7/25/25. The lady is nice and friendly. She works hard as she is the only one at the front. It is not a very big restaurant more like to go type. But they do have some tables available for those who want to eat in. We ordered the special which comes with a little of everything. We ordered the beef short ribs as well and karaage and tempura. My kids ate up the short ribs and karaage before I could take a picture. Prices are reasonable for the portions. They are busy and rightfully so! It is one of our favorite Japanese restaurants in the Gardena area. They take credit cards as well. Restaurant is clean and updated. Looks like they've remodeled recently. They also have lots of options and specials posted on the wall so make sure to look around and get everything that sounds delicious!

Food ordered: -Special Combo - Karaage (fried chicken) is pretty good! Marinated beef are strips of thin grilled beef which is also very good since I can taste the "grill/char" on it. Both meats are surprisingly moist, not dry. Side of rice and bean sprouts. I rarely eat bean sprouts but they mix it with a sauce that makes it tasty, gives another crunchy element to the combo. It also comes with croquette (deep fried mashed potato) and wontons. Ask for pepper flakes on the side to add on top of it if you want a little kick. -Marinated beef bowl -Karaage bowl Japanese cuisine run by an older couple. Closed Mondays. I always call in my order during lunch and it's ready in 10 mins. Small shop - more for take out.

I've been coming to Teri's place since I was young, and the owners there are so hard working. It always looks like it's the 2 of them constantly answering phones and cooking. It's a pretty small restaurant that used to have a couple tables, but when Covid happened, it became a takeout place instead. The prices are very reasonable and delicious! Our favorite plates to order are the special combo, Teri beef plate, and the curry!

Wonderful shop with delightful service currently only serving take-out. Clean and beautifully decorated ordering and pick-up area. Excellent and reasonable prices. The rating of this review is primarily based on the chicken combo plate, which unfortunately was a bit underwhelming. The fried chicken was juicy and overall well cooked, but both the marinated and teriyaki chicken were dry and not especially flavorful. Solid portion sizes. Overall, reasonable value for the price and will return to try other menu options based on the other strong reviews.

I love Teri's place! My go-to plates are the hamburg steak with chicken karaage and the special combo, 10/10 recommend. Everything is fresh and homemade tasting...the flavors remind me of growing up local Japanese in Hawaii. Great service and cute little place to pick-up yummy food! Call in your order and it's usually ready in about 20 minutes.

The inside decor was home-y, with regular seating and a few tatami rooms. Had a rsvp for a booth and was sat immediately. I usually read through the Yelp comments and look at the photos before trying a new place, but this time I only checked the rating -- which was great -- and decided to go based on that and the FB post. Looking back, I probably should have read the reviews first. We didn't realize the bento boxes are only available during lunchtime, and we were also surprised to find out they don't have yakitori. Those were two things we were hoping to try. We came with a party and ordered several items, including the Akatsuki Special Hot Pot, which was recommended to us, along with other dishes. The tempura and karaage were definitely the highlights -- both were really good. The rest of the food was okay for our group, but unfortunately it didn't really satisfy our craving or stand out the way we were hoping. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly. I think the biggest thing was that our expectations were set by what we saw on FB, and the items that caught our attention weren't available when we visited. I would recommend checking their current menu before going so you know what to expect. Maybe we'll come back another time to try their lunch menu and explore more of what they offer.

Once your food is ready, they'll bring it out to you. Water, tea, and utensils are self serve by the front door. Better to eat this one there than take out! Got take out here for the first time today and the tempura sauce lid wasn't on right, so all our tempura got soaked. :(

Old wood. No unnecessary theater. I walked in expecting the sort of modest Japanese restaurant that makes you wonder why anyone bothers opening anything new. Then you get inside. There is old in the charming sense, where every worn surface feels earned. And then there is old in the neglected sense, where the room feels dim, tired and coated in the residue of a thousand lunches. Ichimiann lands much closer to the second. The cafeteria style ordering, self serve tea and tray return could have been part of its appeal, but the space has no real rhythm to it. You order, drift toward the back and eventually find yourself eating in a room that feels more institutional than intimate. The staff was pleasant and efficient. No complaint there. The soba itself was also good, properly textured, clean tasting and clearly better than the lifeless supermarket versions most people know. The problem is that "good soba" is carrying nearly the entire restaurant on its back. The portions are remarkably small for the price and every addition begins to feel like another minor financial penalty. By the time the tray reaches the table, you are looking at a modest serving of noodles in a tired room and wondering how the bill became so ambitious. Handmade or not, there was nothing on the plate that felt difficult enough, generous enough or memorable enough to justify it. That is the disappointment. Ichimiann presents itself like a surviving piece of old Torrance, but tradition alone is not hospitality and age alone is not character. The noodles are respectable. Nearly everything surrounding them needs considerably more care. I wanted to discover a neighborhood institution. What I found was an expensive bowl of decent soba in a restaurant that seems to believe its history is doing more work than it actually is.
