I got to see them making fresh chocolate, so that was pretty neat. I didn't think that I was going to buy anything until they offered me a sample of their best selling item. It's called the opihi and has macadamia nut, caramel, and shortbread covered in chocolate. It was one of the best things I ever ate, so I had to buy a box to take home. Awesome customer service! We were greeted with "Aloha" as soon as we walked in to the shop. Did I mention that the entire store smelled like chocolate.. absolutely mesmerized. The company is known for their chocolate opihi, which is a shortbread cookie with caramel and macadamia nut dipped in chocolate (dark or milk). The chocolate is okay. I wasn't enamored with the people, and here's why. When I entered the shop, nobody greeted me or asked if they could help me. The 3-4 girls working there seemed more interested in talking among themselves. This little chocolate shop was a fantastic stop to grab omiyage (souvenirs to bring home with us, for friends and relatives) during our last day on Kaua'i. I was so happy to receive a complimentary Opihi for checking in on Yelp. It was unique, delicious, and helped seal the deal on what I would buy to bring back with us. $175+ later, we were walking out, happily done with all of our omiyage shopping in one stop! (Living with Covid series) During the brief interlude that we could travel to the Neighbor Islands, I made two trips to Kauai with friends to dive. One of the dive shops we used was near the Port Allen Marine Center in Eleele. Just a couple of doors down is the Kauai Chocolate Company (KCC). KCC is a small shop that produces hand made chocolate confections. To cope with Covid times: masks are required, and a limited number of customers (1-3?) allowed inside. They have a good number of handcrafted delights. In addition to several types of chocolate "bark", truffles, pretzels, toffee, brownies, marshmallows, and bars, they have several unusual concoctions: honu, layers of chocolate & caramel with and without nuts; and their signature "opihi"- layers of short bread cookie, caramel, macadamia nut, & covered in chocolate. They also sell other 'made in Kauai' items, and a hand made ice cream (vanilla) with bits of the "opihi" in it. So good! Their seconds of the opihi are packaged as "hamajang", what a great name! Once in a while they run specials, during the July trip it was buy $35 of items, get a complimentary chocolate bar. KCC's chocolates are delicious and make great omiyage! Definitely recommend and repeat when I visit Kauai! read more

Fun stop to see all things chocolate being prepared! Located in a shopping center, this is a fun stop to get some amazing chocolate and unique ice cream flavors. I had the Ube and coconut which was delicious!! We all tried different flavors and were happy with our choices. Service was very friendly and offered free samples. My cousin used to work here which is how my family found out about this place. Even though he doesn't work here anymore, every time we come to Kauai we have to stop by Port Allen to get some chocolate. The store itself is on the smaller side. They have candy and ice cream behind the counter that you can order individually. However if you want things that are already wrapped or boxed up nicely, they have those too! My favorite is the milk chocolate opihi. It's a shortbread cookie with caramel and a macadamia nut that is covered in chocolate. It is so good. Usually they have samples by the register so you can see if you like the milk or dark chocolate one better. I also ordered one of the bricks. It was a bit too sweet for my taste but was still pretty good. While there is no place to sit inside, there is a bench and a few seating options outside. Pros: -opihi. Stopped by here because the kids wanted some chocolates and ice cream. The beautiful smell of chocolate hits you as soon as you open the door. Went in and bought the kids their ice cream and decided to try and opihi since everyone in front of my purchased some. Ate it while the kids enjoyed their ice cream and walked back in to buy some bags to take back to Oahu!
