I stumbled upon this place by accident and glad I did. I wasn't super hungry, so I ended up ordering their spiced fries, which were fries seasoned with various spices and topped with some sort of thick mayo-based sauce. The aroma of the fries was so fragrant, it made my mouth water. The fries were very tasty -- it honestly did not need the sauce on top. In fact, I think there was TOO MUCH of it. Hence why I'm docking off a star. I think it would be better to lessen the amount of sauce or have it on the side. Otherwise, the fries become soggy and nobody likes soggy fries. Service was fast and the lady behind the cashier brought my fries to my table, which I wasn't expecting. That was nice. Clean, bright interior with a beautiful tapestry that hangs above the dining tables. They sell pastries as well as lunch bowls and salads. Would be nice to see some traditional Algerian sweets. This small biz has only been open 4 months. Go and show them some love! Shop local! read more

KAYMA opened this week at its new location near Fisherman's Wharf after moving from the Ikea food hall. I tried the Caravan Spice Beef Chef Wafa bowl which was cumin beef over a very fluffy and moist couscous, with roasted peppers, chickpeas, and eggplant. The beef was cooked to order and was super juicy and delicious and the couscous was light and fluffy. The harissa hot sauce was served on the side and kicked the heat up a couple notches. For dessert we tried the pistachio and pecan baklavas which were very sweet and nutty. The owners are very friendly and the food was fantastic. There's nothing else like this near the Wharf so I'm sure they'll be a big hit! read more

Stopped in for a fresh and healthy meal on the way to my hotel. The restaurant is small but clean and the owner was kind. The bowl of chickpea soup was refreshing and warming on a cool evening. The staff is extremely welcoming and kind. They can help guide you through the menu if you need it and they were overly accommodating. We ordered the desert fir platter, chicken skewer plate, lentil soup, the spiced fries, and triple layer carrot cake for four people. It was just the right amount of food. The spiced fries are an absolute must, fried crispy and perfectly seasoned. The food is cooked fresh to order so there was a bit of a wait because one of their grills went down. But it's worth the wait. The smokiness from the grill really comes through in the meats. The chicken was tender and not dry and very flavorful. We were just walking and happened to come across this place, and I'm really glad we stopped in. My husband is from Algeria, and as soon as we walked inside, his face completely lit up. You could tell it brought back memories and felt familiar to him. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. Everything look and smelled so good. I discovered this restaurant through an insta story and I'm so glad I did. I am Algerian so I know what good Algerian food is and our meal was amazing. We ordered the lentil soup, the casbah sunrise shakshuka, the fries and the casse croute jardinier and it was all full of flavor. The owners are super friendly and made the experience unforgettable. This is an amazing family establishment. The food was top notch, succulent kabobs and skewers perfectly seasoned, excellent fries, and especially good vegan options like lions mane steak, vegan cream sauce and artichoke dip. They also had a kids menu! For desert we had fresh almond baklava. And the owners were so kind. The gave us fresh apricots for desert and also brought out toys for our young toddler to play with. I really felt like I was at home here on so many levels, even though I'm not even Algerian, and we will 100% be coming back regularly. I love this new location for Kayma. We had a delicious meal here -- all vegan food -- and would absolutely recommend both the Kaleicious Crunch and Earthy EatsBowl. Oh my! Your tastebuds are going to rejoice. This is my first for Algerian food, and it was sooo good! My tastebuds were popping, I think they had a party in my mouth. If you're in the San Francisco area, you need to check out Kayma's. It's right by the Ferris wheel on Mason. It's clean and the owners are amazing. Food is good but Waaaaaaaaaay over overpriced Portions are tiny, and don't match the price Drinks are overpriced Desserts are extremely overpriced and microscopic. You opened on Hyde and closed, at Ikea food court and closed. You had a truck that you closed it and now you're opening at fisherman's wharf and doing the same exact mistake over and over. My niece and I were tourists in San Fran near Pier 39 and came across this restaurant along the street and were captivated by the easy vibe and great menu. We came on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait in a decent sized line to order our food. Even though the line looked long, it does move pretty quickly. Service was average. The store itself was very aesthetic and had some limited indoor seating. Overall, I'd say I left feeling a bit underwhelmed and I don't think I'd personally come back.

Lunch ! This is a lovely restaurant close to the popular Pier 39. There are a multitude of options available for everyone, given that there are vegan dishes available. I opted for the lamb chops. I have grown weary of lamb chops because most places usually gouge you and give you 2 that are somewhat tasty but seem more like an appetizer. Here you will get a full mini rack of 5 small chops which is generous given the price, and more imporantly spiced and cooked to perfection. Accompanied with 2 different sauces, a small portion of roasted potatoes and vegetables, it is an excellent rendition. We also had the red lentil soup which was fantastic.
