Brandon was the technician who walked me through my options. I needed a working heater as soon as possible since I'd be moving in with my newborn so, the best option was to replace. From the second I called KC Home Service, I knew I picked the best. Virginia was very helpful in setting up an appointment for an air conditioner unit misbehaving. Their technician Brooks was awesome. Absolutely on time in Windsor. He inspected the unit and diagnosed the issues. He completed the work in a timely fashion and it now works better than before. They had to replace a number of parts including the capacitor, contactor (a rat had its way with that and some wiring), and did an overall safety check. I love these guys. They continue to be so incredibly professional. They recently upgraded the insulation in my attic and when I tell you I felt an immediate difference, I am not kidding. My quality of life has increased by at least 30%, haha! Per code, insulation should be at 14 inches in your attic. KC Home Services finished off the bag and gave me an additional 3 inches at no additional charge (sorry if I wasn't supposed to say that haha). One thing I didn't know this time around is they offer an array of financing options. I took their 36 months at 0% interest for about $114 per month and no penalty if you pay it off sooner. I had a quote for a furnace and water heater from KC Home Services. The estimator was fine, but the quote was not right for me. Since then I have been contacted by KC home services numerous times! Right after the home visit I was sent a message asking for a review, even though I didn't hire them? I have received 3 or 4 text messages about various promotions, sales spam as I never signed up for text messages. Then I received a phone call to remind me it is time to clean my water heater?!!! It has been really hot so we decided to get air conditioning. Got estimates from KC Home Services, Ongaro and Sons, and Moore Home Services. All three did top notch evaluations and explained everything in detail to us. We went with KC Home Services estimate for two reasons: 1.) They discovered a large pluming leak under the house and fully documented it, 2.) Virginia went out of her way to get the AC scheduled in just a few days. Note: This was after 5 PM on Friday evening. Initial contact from KC Home services was Brook. He did a great job listening to what we wanted and helped us fit into our budget. He also discovered. the plumbing problems. Mike and Chris installed the AC. They were able to preserve our existing furnace even though it is ancient. Did a great job and everything was top notch. We have AC now and its great. Jonathan and Robert came next to fix all the plumbing problems. they had to replace a bunch of pipe that was failing and replumb the water softener. Again they did a great job even though they worked all day and into the evening to get our water back on. Had a minor issue with the water softener. I figured out the problem, but KC sent out one of their experts, Daniel, to review my findings and insure all was good. Daniel noticed a KC sticker on the furnace. I remembered the service. It was a Sunday in winter of 1997 or 1998. The house was freezing and the furnace wasn't working. I think it must have been Kevin of KC that came out and got us fixed up. Great service then too. KC Home Services did everything we needed and cleaned up after themselves when they were done. We made the right choice. read more

So this is a tough review not due to a "Purchase, Install or Service" ... but what came first! I called KC because I wanted to buy a new furnace The Rep came out, knowledgeable & friendly , went over the selections and gave me the 3 quotes. He had also gone under the house to inspect the Duct Work, which per CA Code now has to pass an inspection. What happened next was just not OK to me. 1. After I let him know I wanted to get a 2nd Bid due to the unexpected cost ($7,000), he immediately said he would lower the price between $500 & $1,000 depending on our choice? 2. But he said we would also need to replace our all of our Ducts for $8,000 if we were to pass inspection... Now I have a cost of $15,000 +. My 2nd Quote, which included a "suggested 4' replacement of a section", was $7,700, which today fully passed inspection. So the Ducts never needed to be replace. The Brand I went with is traditionally a little more expensive than CarrierDay & Night as well. To try & "Jam me" for $8,000 just doesn't speak well for KC read more

They were unable to help me, but they went out of their way to help me find a plumber that could assist me with my issue, and they even followed up with me via a text the next day to make sure I was being cared for. While we did not end up hiring KC Home Services for HVAC repair (only because a service provider in our neighborhood was able to pop over within minutes), I could not leave a review unwritten for how fantastic my experience was with them! They scheduled me this morning for a service appointment first thing tomorrow (the soonest anyone else had was five days out), offering to have someone out today if at all possible. I got a follow-up text to confirm the details of my appointment moments later. When I called just now to let them know I was able to get the AC unit repaired already, Virginia told me how delighted she was that our problem was solved (no tone of negativity at all that they did not get my business). She shared that the entire staff is a tight-knit group of family, friends, and community members, several generations deep over their 35 years in business, and how much pride they take in doing good work (as is reflected in the reviews here). She let me know about other services they could provide if we need a hand in the future, even offering that if I'm ever looking for a service they don't do themselves, to feel free to call her to get referrals to other vendors they'd stake their own reputation on. Today, the city finally came for round 2 to do its inspection and everything was signed off. The inspector only had one word when she arrived, nice was all she said. Well, I have to tell you that this is a quality work performed by the technician Don. He is not only passionate, professional but very patient. He answered any questions I had during the installation and allowed me to video his instruction (so that I could not forget what he told me). Don is such a valuable asset to K C Homes and from now on, if I have any plumbing problems, he will be the one I call. If he ever leaves KC Homes, I will need to find him and get his service only.
