This place in the industrial area in Lihue doesn't look like much and I doubt the usual tourists to the Island would frequent here, but you'd be missing out on a local GEM. We stayed at the Marriott / Sonesta and had takeout breakfast almost every morning from Keoki's. They have a breakfast menu (opens at 6 am) and the lunch menu starts at 10 am. The Kalua Pork is the best we had anywhere in Kauai and their Loco Moco is legit (Ume's version is even betta". The portions are huge (enough for 2) and the prices are reasonable. Service is Aloha to the A+. Bring cash and an appetite, but don't miss the food here. read more

This place is a real gem hidden away from the beach and the tourists. If you want a real local vibe and great service this is the place. Hoisen rib appetizers were awesome! Pineapple Pina colada great for the pineapple and to feel the island vibe, but had little alcohol in it. This is one of my favorite spots for Teri beef plate and Teri beef sandwich. Normally catering to the people working in the industrial area there are a few others that know of this spot. There really isn't a place to sit aside from the three seater table in front the ordering window. We usually order and drive to kalapaki beach nearby. Keoki's is a great grab n go lunch spot in the Lihue Industrial Park phase 2. Its a CASH ONLY joint with daily lunch specials that rotate weekly. They are famous for their Char Grilled Burgers. Honestly they are pretty tiny, with little effort put towards the lettuce, tomatoes or onions. But their BBQ sauce that they baste the burger patty in makes everything worth it somehow! The Smokey char taste is so prevalent, you'll regret eating that McDonald's earlier in the week. I usually get it with a slice of cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, relish and extra Mayonnaise! I also am a fan of their beef Luau, which they only serve on Fridays. If you haven't had any kind of a "Luau dish"- it's made with stewed Taro leaves and a protein. Usually squid, chicken or beef. Keoki's beef Luau is unusually brothy and runny, without the signature coconut milk which usually accompanies luau's. Even so, the flavors it develops are rich, beefy and deep. It looks scary, I'll be honest... but it is really delicious. There's only 3 seats under a small umbrella to dine at. I suggest you take out and eat somewhere close and comfortable. Vidinha Stadium is nearby with lots of parking in the shade. read more

This was the first time I visited Keoki's but it definitely is not the last. The food was great and the service was even better. I had a cheeseburger and french fries and there was no comparison in taste to the "fast food" restaurants, this was so much better. The cheeseburger was done perfectly, and the fries were plentiful and "hot". There is a huge variety on the menu, and I am sure it will take quite a while to "eat" myself through everything. They were BUSY so it must be popular! we just missed breakfast, so sad!! but the lunch food was still very tasty and we were able to get some banana bread which was yummy! i tried the teriyaki burger with cheese and enjoyed it a lot! who wouldve thought something so simple would be so tasty! note, there isnt much seating (theres like maybe 6 seats) so come here expecting to take your food to go, which most people did, or standing to eat. the service was sooo friendly and happy (even though it was raining) that i really enjoyed stopping by this place! read more

I always make it a point to try very local eateries in any town I visit and wow. Keokis easily make my top 10 for takeaway breakfast and lunch food stand in all of Hawaii. Coming from California where celebrity chefs and wanna be chef hopefuls are opening new restaurants daily, I can be a damn harsh critic when a restaurant wastes my time and money on a mediocre meal. Keokis deserves 5 stars for the food experience - priced just right, no skimp on ingredients, cooked just as locals would love and served with lots of aloha. Uma's loco moco, not Nui. . Went back for lunch and bought the two specials: chicken fried steak, and luau beef stew. Both were very good.

So glad we tried and so close to the Marriott. Great place to get a lunch for the pool. Meals come in soda cardboard flat so perfect to take to the pool. Less than a mile away. We tried the Shoyu Chicken, delicious but as a white boy all the bones and skin are not a positive. The over gravied Teri beef sandwich was ono. They say the plate is better. Will be back. read more
