Food was top tier. Ambiance was beautiful and the live music was much appreciated and enjoyable.

Great appetizers Coconut shrimp & Kale salad. Finished off with Hulu Pie. This was our second meal here. So also had the seafood risotto which was amazing too. We arrived and we told our table wasn't ready so we hit the bar for a cocktail. They were good table was ready about 20 minutes after our reservation. I asked the waiter what his favorite things on the menu were and if the Caesar salad was delicious to which he steered me towards the seafood risotto and then the fish platter- Caesar salad and risotto were awful! I didn't eat either and the waiter didn't do a thing about them even when told - . The fish platter was excellent. The shrimp starters were excellent and the dessert was excellent service. OK wine always arrived. Warm needed to be chilled for an additional 30 minutes overall three stars. read more

After a day at the Poipu beach I decided to call this restaurant to see if they had gluten-free options which they did and they advise that we have to make a reservation so we did for that evening at 5:30pm. Now by this time the sun was going down the wind was picking up and it was getting pretty chilly. Yes, cold in Poipu! And I literally had a bathing suit on with the cover. So we're hoping this was inside dining. Well to my dismay it was but it wasn't. They had open air dining. So they try to put us in a area with less wind, flowing through and turn the fans overhead off. But they lose a star because what they could have done was lowered those blinds. If you will at every opening there was rolled up blinds that could've been let down to knock off some of the wind coming through. This is a fine dining type of restaurant, but as long as you have a top on some bottoms and some shoes, you can dine here there is no dress code. But we were probably the only one still in "beach" attire because we stay on the North Shore up at Princeville and we were visiting the beach down at Poipu south of the island and that's like an hour and a half drive back so no changing for us needless to say I froze the entire time to the point where my teeth were chattering, so we didn't stay for dessert we had it to go. Other people were there with long sleeves on and jackets. Now about the food. Lol. So the gluten-free options are very limited. There are two steak options on there, but I could not have the prime rib because the Ajou sauce apparently has gluten in it and the steak itself is also pre-dipped in that sauce before cooking. So I got the other steak option, which is a kin to a filet mignon. I have never been to a restaurant where I couldn't have a choice of steak. But OK. Mine was called; Filet Steak Kiana* a Greater omaha's corn fed angus beef, keoki's steak diane with mushroom risotto, shiitake mushroom cream, roasted Brussels sprouts & truffle butter @ $56. I added Keoki's Glazed Lobster Tall @ $33. Needless to say this was our expensive meal. We always set aside for at least one on our vacation time. you got a splurge you know. The steak was cooked through perfection. Everything that came with. It had its own deep flavors and was delicious. The lobster tails were also cooked to perfection and had butter for dipping. The prime rib which my husband ordered comes in two sizes 12 ounce and a 24 ounce. So he ordered; Prime Rib "While it lasts" a Greater omaha's angus beef, chive cream mashed potatoes, horseradish cream, au jus and roasted brussels sprouts. The brussels sprouts he didn't care for, but the rest of his meal was spot on. A 12 oz. cut for $47. So of course, we ordered virgin piña colada's again. The presentation was unique as we have never seen this before. It was in an actual pineapple. The piña colada was OK. It did not be calypso. I would say it would be a cool second from the ones we have tried. But being presented in a pineapple, I felt gave us less in volume. The desserts which we got to go was a Mango Pono Pie made with Hana maui breadfruit "ulu", mango, maur honey, nut crust, tropical fruit relish @ $14 free of refined sugar, gluten & dairy free as well. The waitress said that it's not overly sweet if you like sweet desserts this wouldn't be the one to get because of that but since I'm gluten-free and this is the only option she would give me extra honey. My husband chose the Taro Coconut Bread Pudding w/Sweet butter rum glaze @ $14. Now remember we took these to go. He says his was delicious. Mine had lost the honey as it slid off onto the to go box. So that didn't help the mango breadfruit part of the dessert was good as long as I dipped it in the honey that was pretty much nonexistent at this point. I did not care for the coconut macadamia nut crust. Which I didn't really realize was there because I don't like shredded coconut. So that's me the fruit on top was just cut up strawberries and blueberries and it was very little of that. So they get a ding on my dessert. They could've put it in a smaller box to contain it better. Sent the extra honey in its own container and put a little more of that fruit mixture on top and that might've done it. After $200 plus meal I can say it was worth it in the food, but the atmosphere made it unpleasant overall with all the wind exposure. So my thoughts are, they could've taken the weather into consideration and lowered those awnings or blinds to provide a better atmosphere for the diners. To at least alleviate some of the cold weather coming through. The host was pleasant. The waitress was pleasant and so was the person who sat us down. Everybody was very attentive and helpful and did the best they could. Although again they could've went one step further and dropped those awnings. Only a four star because of that and my dessert. read more

Love this place. Ambiance is fun. I enjoyed dinner - had a fresh fish duo, and lunch was great too- I had a special (pork and spinach). Servers are good but this place does get very busy. I definitely recommend a reservation. Also, the bar drinks are fantastic. The landscaping inside the restaurant is beautiful and I love the chickens wandering around. My wife has food Allergies And Mini put in their food allergy protocols to make sure all the ingredients were safe for her. she got the baked mahi mahi with the balsamic vinegar sauce. I got the fish duo seared swordfish and macadamia nut encrusted mahi mahi both were fantastic. My wife got a mai tai and I got a lava man red amber beer from Kona brewing.Oh we ended our meal with bread pudding for my wife and a hula pie for myself truly an excellent night. Keoki's was probably my favorite place to eat in Kauai. It's a very large and pretty "tropical restaurant" themed decor that feels a bit like a time capsule, but the restaurant staff are all super efficient and friendly. The wait can be a bit long at times but calling ahead to put our names on the wait list made things pretty easy. The food is generally outstanding. Every piece of fish I've had there has been outstanding. Perfectly cooked and flavorful. They put most of the fancy hotel restaurants in the area to shame in that respect. Honestly the fish and the Hula Pie are worth 5 stars in my book, but everything else they do is pretty solid 4-star bar food. Overall I don't think I'd ever be disappointed coming back here. read more

We live on the East Side of Kauai and rarely drive down to Poipu. But this special dinner out was worth it. We each had the 2 course tasting menu for $32. We started with the panko crusted calamari strips (good) and the beet salad (but they were out of beets? Our server did warn us and they put a lot of other extra stuff in so it was fine.) My partner had the fish and I had the BBQ ribs. We shared the hula pie for dessert. The Mai Tais we started with were a bit weak, but they made excellent Palomas and Manhattans. It's a spacious, beautiful old school Hawaii setting with the island ambiance completed with traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music by Kyle Labenz accompanied with occasional hula. First off the whole ambiance makes the dining experience here spectacular. They have multiple seating areas and most are surrounded by a large water feature with plants and flowers. They had live music on an early Saturday evening and just added to the whole Hawaiian vibes. Food was great. Yummy salad, amazing carrot muffins, good spareribs, and that hula pie is a must order! The restaurant was beautiful and had a wonderful tropical vibe. We went for dinner and were seated promptly. It took a while before our waiter arrived and we ordered drinks. None of them came out as was wanted. The Mai Tai was too sweet and my daughter's drink was funky. He remedied all of that and brought me a delicious guava & elderflower daquiri that was amazing. My mom and I ordered the Mahi Mahi which was served Keoki's style - baked in a garlic, lemon, and sweet basil glaze. It included a sweet potato mash and a roasted kilauea tomato gastrique. The fish was decent and the preparation was interesting. I especially liked the gastrique. My daughter ordered teriyaki chicken which she said was dry and did not taste good. The service was slow and we saw far more of the waiter for the table next to us than our waiter. We were surprised the bread was extra and were not aware it was even available until after we had finished our meal and saw another table with bread. What a disappointment! Maybe I was expecting too much? The atmosphere at the restaurant is very tropical and well themed to Hawaii. The staff at the host stand were very welcoming. And this is where it ends. Our visit was on Thursday, September 29 at around 6 pm. There was four adults in our party and we ordered the following: 1) Risotto Seafood 2) Prime Rib (small, medium rare) 3) BBQ Rib 4) BBQ Chicken Generally the food was bland and the food did not come out hot. More like lukewarm. The Risotto Seafood was a good portion with different kinds of fish, half lobster tail, and shrimp. However, it needed a little bit more flavor. The Prime Rib was not medium rare. More medium and was very lukewarm. The mash potatoes were cold. The BBQ Ribs were tough and again the mash potatoes were cold. The BBQ Chicken is half a chicken but the Breast/Wing portion was tough and dry. The Thigh/Drumstick portion was raw and we had to return back to the chicken. By the time the replacement piece of chicken came out, the rest of us were done dining. My father just had it wrapped up to bring back to hotel. The waitress was not as apologetic as she should have been considered the kitchen served raw chicken. No discount for the raw chicken. Just an underwhelming "sorry". Keoki's paradise is part of the "Duke's" family of restaurants. Honestly, I had a better experience at Duke's in Lihue in previous visits to Kauai. This restaurant should be placed in the dictionary next to the words "Tourist Trap". Spent your hard earned vacation money somewhere else. read more

This place is immacualte. It is everything you would wish for in an establishment. They have exquisite ambiance that enlightens the whole experience. The view that you are set upon are phenomenal. If you are celebrating any occasion they are ready to celebrate you! They helped us celebrate our honeymoon with an extra dessert treat that did highlight our experience to the max. We had an amazing meal ordering their cajun baja fish tacos with their guacomole, pico de gallo, shaved jalapeno, and roasted tomatillo aioli. The best thing here is the water and even then that's not saying much. Even other customers were complaining about their food. The reviews here are definitely fake. Must make a reservation. We were a group of 6 with a reservation at 8:30pm. The restaurant was huge. It had such a great atmosphere. Service was phenomenal. Our table came with complimentary carrot cake muffins with cinnamon butter. We had to order seconds. The cocktails drinks were strong and delicious. The food was fantastic. We loved everything we ordered. Since our reservation was late some dishes were sold out but our server made great alternatives. They accidentally brought us the wrong item, the calamari so they comped it off our bill without us even needing to tell them. It was tender and fried to perfection. We would gladly order it next time. We celebrated a birthday and they also comped us a hula pie which was the perfect ending to an already perfect dinner. I can't wait to return. read more

We visited this restaurant while vacationing in Kauai, and unfortunately the experience fell flat from the start. Our quoted wait time was 45 minutes, which we were prepared for -- but somehow our party of two was checked in as a party of seven. Because of that mix-up, we sat watching multiple parties who arrived after us get seated before we ever did. Only after bringing it to their attention did they finally correct the mistake and seat us. I'll give credit where it's due: the place is beautifully designed, warmly lit with gorgeous wood from floor to ceiling. The ambiance sets high expectations... but the food and drinks just didn't follow. The drinks were incredibly weak -- and I'm a lightweight, so if I can barely taste the alcohol, that says a lot! I ordered the seafood risotto, which was honestly disappointing. It came with two shrimp, a very small lobster tail, and barely any fish. What it did have plenty of was spinach -- way too much, and it threw the whole dish off. The ribs were just okay, nothing memorable, though the mashed potatoes were delicious and probably the best part of the meal. Overall, with the long wait, the seating error, weak cocktails, and underwhelming entrées, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Kauai has so many amazing places to eat -- save your time (and money) for one of those instead. read more
