The buffalo wings, crunchy, falls off the bone, and for the average person (because I love spicy) it's about a 4 out of 10 for spice. The buffalo fries were also delicious, buffalo chicken was also crunchy. Fries weren't soggy. A little thrown off about the tomatoes being "warm" due to it being a hot entree. Kind of hidden from the main street but it's right behind Koon Thai's plaza down the road. They seem to have quite a bit of foot traffic being that this place is in a commercial parking lot. Sitting here now I'm surprised how many people are trickling in. They have their own spacious lot which is nice you don't have to fight for parking like most breweries in this area and Miramar. I just missed happy hour but apparently it's M-F from 2-4pm. The guy working the counter is really nice. I came for a quick beer and bite after the office so I just tried the hazy IPA and fried calamari which are really tasty! Second time here. Would not order the rib appetizer again -- missing something -- not quite fall off the bone. Wasn't bad but wasn't really that good either. My friend had the fish and chips (substituted fries for salad) and he said the beer batter was good. I thought the portions were on the small side though. I had the tuna melt, but didn't like the bits of dill pickle/relish in my sandwich, which is probably why I only ate half. Fries were okay, not as crispy as last time and needed salt. I visited the Kearny Mesa location with my friends. Would go back in a heart beat. The beer was fresh and smooth. I got one (2) of the hazy IPAs. I got the seafood combo and the waiter let me substitute the fries for a side salad. The food was amazing. The fried fish was flakey and the breading was perfect - crunchy and well seasoned. The calamari melts in your mouth. The shrimp was tasty and crunchy. The side salad was perfect to balance out all the fried food. But don't get me wrong, like a lot of fried foods, this was not oily or greasy. I got my salad with the green goddess dressing. The meal also came with a tasty queso dip, above average tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. They have a hot sauce there that I used on everything. Very good. read more

We met with friends here to have a chill afternoon hang out, upon their suggestion. The menu looked great and the staff was very friendly and checked in on us while we were out at a table on the patio, since our friends brought their dog. We ordered apps for the table, the crispy calamari strips, the potato skins (without bacon), and the fried pickle spears. I tried the hazy conditions and the Alta mar, and my partner tried their blood orange clear conditions. Everything was awesome! The food came out pretty quick, everything was fresh out of the kitchen and smelled awesome. Our drinks were refreshing and had great flavors. The hazy conditions was fairly hoppy, but had fruity undertones; and the Alta mar was just a solid Mexican lager (sort of a combo of a corona and a model especial). My partner loved her hard seltzer as it was very light to drink but the blood orange was prominent. The apps were so good! The pickle spears were decently coated and fried perfectly, the potato skins were crispy and loaded up with cheese and green onion, and the calamari was perfectly cooked with a great texture and flavor. Our overall experience was really great! Our server even gave us complimentary cookies when we were finishing up. Ketch is for sure worth checking out! I have nothing but high praise for this establishment. It was my nephew who frequently comes here that told me about Ketch Brewing about 2-3 years ago. Ever since, I have been a semi-regular here. Ketch Brewing is nestled between other buildings and is the corporate office as well as where all their beers are brewed and delivered to other Ketch locations in San Diego as well as other bars. What separates it from the other Ketch locations on Shelter Island and Portside Pier downtown is their own unique menu and its loyal fan base. It's a smaller venue with tables inside and outdoor seating outside. Their work staff are outstanding. Freddie, Mike, Odie, and Ramiro (a brew master) are all friendly, highly efficient with crowds, and very personable. They tend to know your names and what beers you drink. Aside from their menu that is different from the other Ketch sites, they also sell Gelato and frequently provide baked chocolate chip cookies to their clientele. They have monthly specials, but my go to is their blackened salmon sandwhich with fries or salad. Whoever their kitchen staff are behind the scenes, they provide the food that pairs well with all their beers. Ketch Brew even serves their own margaritas and a cucumber lime seltzer as other options. I enjoy coming here because it allows me to unwind, catch some sports on TV, and also enjoy the food and beers here whenever I feel like it. Ketch Brew is chill and family oriented. read more

Listen this place is really good and the people who work there super nice. So i ordered potato skins and some tacos. The price of the tacos were 14 and they tasted just like the brigantine ones which were 22. Im impressed and my mom ordered the burger the guy offered to put the burger in her own bread for her i was like shocked i was saying the tip was gunna be 25% next time. I mean it tasted great BUT for $24 I was thinking maybe add some avocado not just lettuce and tomato which was one slice of tomato and 1 piece of lettuce..It was so so. We chose Ketch because of the location and Yelp reviews and ended up having a party of 15. Thankfully they had a long table that was perfect for our large party. I have eaten at a few locations of The Brigantine over the past several years, but this was my first visit to The Brig HQ. The building is in an industrial area west of Convoy St so it's off the beaten path. Ketch Brewing is the food and beverage tasting room of The Brig HQ. It can seat about 20 customers and featured an on-site brewery. We came here for a weekday lunch since it was nearby after running some errands in the Convoy District. The food menu was a one page sheet that listed nine different items. I ordered the Grilled Swordfish Tacos which came as two tacos along with my choice of french fries. The tacos were okay, however there was too much cabbage and salsa fresca. The fries were of the thick steak cut variety. The best part was the end when the server brought out two large complimentary chocolate chip cookies. In hindsight, I probably should have picked the IPA Battered Fish & Chips or the Crispy Fish Tacos which they always do well at The Brig. For this dining experience, I gave a three star rating to Ketch Brewing. read more

Long overdue review for Ketch. Phenomenal brewery that has been a must-stop for me in San Diego since 2018 when I fell in love with their beer. This still has to be my top brewery for quality, selection of beer and customer service. All have been consistent over the years. Their flagship Hazy Conditions is still the best hazy IPA I've had, next to Russian River's. The rest of their selections have all been good to great. Not a bad beer in flight. Came to this spot with a couple of my nurse friends after a long day. Found it by googling happy hour places near the hospital where we work, as our typical place was closed on Mondays.
