Don't. This car started failing from day one. First, the infotainment screen overheats fairly quickly leading to a defect that led to more cracks on the screen and now they don't want to cover it under warranty. Shortly after that, I'm driving on I-5 and the car refuses to go above 45 mph. I take it in and turns out there's a defect in one of the pistons. This car didn't have but 33,000 miles. I had a Toyota Corolla with 260,000 miles it never had problems at 30,000 miles never had any issues internally with any defect. This car is already messing up. So if you have time and money to waste on appeals and taking the car back-and-forth to the dealer for them to do the right thing, by all means waste your time and your money. If you have any common sense, you won't bother. Thank God I am about to finish up residency, and since I'm a doctor I can buy any car I want to in about a year and a half and guess what, it will never be another Hyundai. read more

I came in for an engine and transmission oil change. $169.99 for the engine. $389.99 for the transmission. These services cost $200 for everything at a regular service center. And after that, they refused to give me a test drive. They started making excuses that they didn't have cars, but they were parked in the parking lot, then they said that they needed me to have insurance on me, not on the car. And they said that the Sonata N Line is too fast and they don't give them to just anyone. It's funny, it only has 280 horses and 6 seconds to 60 mph. They really upset me, lied and refused to give me the service, although I had the money to even buy their car for cash right there on the spot. and also I have a recorder in my car and usually I bring the car at 10 am, they have already done it by 12 and take it to the parking lot, but they only give it back at 5 pm or the next day. Bought a gently used hybrid here in May. As a woman, I expect a certain level of attempted bamboozlement, and this place was par for the course. First, they wanted to charge me several hundred dollars for both an alarm and a special tire package where they're inflated with nitrogen. Uhhh, this was a USED car - did the previous owner not have an alarm? Oh yes, they said, but they allegedly uninstalled it and I was paying for a new alarm. Riiiiight.... The tires - $500 to inflate them with nitrogen. Really? So the tires would be uninflated and re-inflated with plain old O2 if I object? Next - registration, again - this is used car! They tried to tell me it would be $500 and change to register the car. NO, that would be for a new car, used cars only require a title transfer fee. Next, I learned that Hyundai (and I guess this is standard for them) doesn't honor the original manufacturer's (10year/100k mile) warranty if the car is purchased used even if it's under the age and mileage limits! You have to PAY for that privilege. The final straw was that my certified used car (that's supposed to mean they go over them with a fine tooth comb, right?) threw a coolant error on a road trip, during a heatwave, in the middle of nowhere on the I-5! I had to make an unscheduled stop in Tracy to talk to the service department to find out if this was a major issue - thankfully it was not, and the warning actually wasn't even valid. However, it turns out there's been a Technical Service Bulletin out for that very issue since August of last year, and it is now a full-fledged recall. You would think as part of the "certification" process before they offered the car for sale, they would check for things like Technical Service Bulletins - apparently they don't. The icing on the cake is that they don't have any "recall" service appointments for over a month. At least my car is okay to drive... for now. If you buy a used car from them, all I can say is make sure you look over the sales contract VERY carefully, and check for any service bulletins before you sign anything. read more

George answered all of my questions, I walked out with the car that day after financing with Robert. What I didn't know is how unreliable hydrogen fuel is in California. There is a website that you can use to find fuel stations; however, that website is not kept up to date and that's where my experience took a turn for the worst (at no fault to the dealership). It took me 5 hours to drive from Van Nuys to Irvine because I had to visit 3 fuel stations to get fuel. Because the website listing active stations is not kept update, online you can find a list of stations that have fuel or are working and when you arrive you'll find that is not case. Once I arrived home I went to 2 of the closest stations to me, just to check their status and found that both (now having visited 5 stations) were offline. I returned to the dealership the next day to return that car and found that they do not do refund or cancel contracts on new vehicle sales. George and Eddy did offer to swap the car out for a hybrid or gas vehicle. That was not an option I could feasibly go with so I contacted Brian who worked out a deal for me to swap the Nexo for an Ioniq 5 when they arrived at the dealership. Today I can say that I am a happy and proud Ioniq 5 owner and with the help from Brian and Robert I was able to finance the vehicle within my budget. George and Eddy made sure the swap was quick and easy and I was on my way home, in a new car within 2 hours. For anyone purchasing a Nexo, I highly recommend that you visit a couple fuel stations around you a few times to ensure that you'll be able to fuel the vehicle reliably, and online map or fuel station status monitor to date is not reliable. Thanks to this team I am a happy Hyundai customer and will be returning when I'm ready to buy a second vehicle. read more

Total classic bait and switch dealership. They advertise one price online that you can NEVER get when you show up. All cars are market adjusted +$3k because they feel like it. When questioned about this the salesperson literally told me "of course we do, if we showed that online no one would come in." I used their online tool to build a lease price and when I sent it to them to validate no one would give me an answer back. I sent them a National Hyundai advertisement with a lease special and they also have no interest participating. Three separate people tried to get me to come in for a test drive without answering any pricing questions first. They want you to come and waste your time so they can add on the fees when you get there. They are afraid of customers who do their research and ask questions because they can't be taken advantage of. Never ever ever buy a vehicle from these shysters! I was adamant that I was getting the car for $22k out the door. Negotiated with them for hours and said I do not want any of the extra upgrades. Said no to everything that the finance department tried to upsell us to. But, They slipped in an extra $5000 in bs fees during the electronic signing so we couldn't see. Then hand us a usb so we couldn't see the actual costs. So the $22k used car we thought we were buying was $27k! We will never recoup that extra $5k. After a month later when the loan company sent our bill we called the finance department and they said sorry for the 'misunderstanding' and they wrote us a check for $500. ‍ They flat out lied, were sneaky about the deal and owned up to the charges being bs but we still have to pay for their bad business dealings. I was furious to say the least and will never buy another car from them! Flat out thieves. So incredibly wrong to screw people out of their hard earned money. Horrible Service and Unacceptable Communication at Keyes Hyundai Van Nuys: I am writing to warn others about the absolutely terrible service and complete lack of communication at Keyes Hyundai in Van Nuys. On June 17th, my AC stopped working, and I received a "check electrical system" notification. I scheduled an appointment for June 19th, but 20 minutes before the appointment (after I had already left home), I received a call to reschedule because their system was down. This was extremely frustrating, but I understood it was a nationwide issue and accepted the rescheduled appointment for June 21st. However, when I arrived (after a 30-minute drive during my workday), I was told the system was still down, and they had failed to notify me. The next available appointment was Monday, July 1st, which I reluctantly accepted. Waiting 10 days to fix my AC during a heatwave in the San Fernando Valley was bad enough, but I am pregnant, making this even more intolerable. On July 1st, I arrived on time, only to experience a 45-minute wait to see a service advisor, forcing me to reschedule a work meeting. They provided me with a loaner car and promised to notify me when my car was ready. A week passed without any updates. I called multiple times on Monday, July 8th, without reaching a representative. On Tuesday, July 9th, I continued calling with no answers, but at 5 PM I finally spoke with the GM, Sean. He promised to check my car's status and call back in 5 minutes, but of course, he never did. On Wednesday, July 10th, I was told my service advisor was out and there were no notes on my car, so I had to wait. Later that day, another representative took a message for me, assuring the manager would call back after lunch, but by 4 PM, I still hadn't heard anything. The service advisor has been dodging my calls and seems completely clueless about my car's status. It is now 5 PM on July 10th, 23 days since my AC went out, 10 days since my car has been in service, and I have still received no updates. Additionally, I am stuck driving a gas-guzzling loaner car, which is highly inconvenient compared to my fully electric car. As a loyal Hyundai customer, I am beyond furious with the lack of communication and the overall abysmal service experience. The complete absence of communication and disregard for my situation is utterly unacceptable, particularly given my current condition and the extreme weather. I have a brand new Ionic (8k miles) that shouldn't have an emergency braking system fail warning light on. Keyes service was really busy and I didn't make an appointment due to the potential severity of the issue. What looked like it was going to be a really bad circumstance was resolved very well thanks to service advisor Aaron's professionalism and demeanor. Aaron took personal responsibility, saw my intake and rental through from beginning to end, and made every effort to ensure the intake problems were resolved efficiently and that communication was fluid during the wait. His only mistake is doing too good a job, as now people will expect the Mercedes level service he delivered at Hyundai. I had to take my car to keyes hyundai after running over a broken part of road near where I live. since this was unplanned, I didn't have can appointment. they told me that appointments are required now, which i didn't know. that seems odd, as car issues tend to come out of nowhere. anyway, even though I didn't have an appointment, what i took the car there for (an engine cover underneath the car) was fixed by 2:00 the day I took it in, which was surprising. then when they brought it out, a little bit of oil was getting into the exhaust, which was causing it to smoke. to fix that, it took a week, which forced me to have to rent a car. that repair more than doubled to bill. I do uber, and have had numerous riders tell me when I picked them up at car shops that the guys there marked their car way up. one time, a woman told me that she took her car in to Kia for 2 recalls and an oil change, and they marked her car up to $800. that's not what happened here, as my car was smoking. but everything i went in for was done in 5 hours until the smoking thing happened, which happened as they were bringing it out for me to leave. then there was a delay later in the week, and they said they'd need the car til the following monday. Elizabeth there was really nice, although she was hard to reach on the phone. they never jerked me around on the price. there's no storage fee for your car, so you can pick it up, after it's done, whenever you want. their waiting area is really nice. tv. water. the bathroom was very clean. a big showroom to walk around in. I just wish they were easier to reach sometimes, as i called one day for an update, and got passed from one person to the next with no answers at the end of it. they call you a Lyft ride too to get you home when you leave your car there. read more

Just be aware when you take your car for a service get a detail printout of the service that they will be performing and check the prices. They charge like 100x's more. My car was worked on a week ago just needed a routine oils service since my car is fairly new they wanted to charge me 79.99 to replace the air filter. Air filter cost like $20.00 or less and it's something you can replace in 5 minutes. So just be careful what you pay. And since I went with a cheaper service I feel they kept my car longer than needed. Over 3 hrs for an oil change. read more

The vibe here is so bad. Went a couple months ago with my brother to test drive the Sonata, guy made next to no effort to get to know us at all, and once we said we were gonna test drive a few other cars on the block, he gave us his card and basically dismissed us. Went back today with my dad to try the Elantra and Ioniq 6, and first walked probably a quarter mile to get to the car, guy again wasn't particularly personable or genuine, we drove the Elantra pretty briefly, came back, and the guy basically didn't wanna let us leave when we said we wanted to try other cars. He literally pulled a manager outside to try and get us in to talk numbers. He literally said "you need to let me try to earn your business" to which we said "ya gotta like the car first" and then we left. All the other people at Honda, Toyota, and Kia were so friendly, personable, and encouraging about wanting to try other cars and reaching back out if I wanted theirs. My lease was up so I came in looking to upgrade. Everything was going great up until i had to deal with Lucine, their finance person. She was beyond rude. while " explaining " what im signing, she was literally responding in one word sentences. I had to ask, " what is this, what is that" . Also while "explaining" , her back was towards me most of the time, or she was under her desk. Its like she couldnt give me the time of day. Very very unprofessional, she was mumbling through her teeth, her one word explanations. She made me feel very uncomfortable. going to any of their dealerships is awful. they take 3 hours to do an oil change. not only that they price gouge you charging $129.99 for an oil change and then they try to upsell you on some crap you don't need and they overprice all their services. I only went in there because my engine burns oil like crazy and i want my engine replaced via their so called 100k warranty. They required I do an oil change with them at that exorbitant price point. I am still having trouble believing that this is a car dealership -- from the initial test drive to driving off the lot, everything could not have been more seamless! I walked into the dealership within 90 days of the end of the lease of my previous vehicle from a different manufacturer. However, since I had positive equity in the vehicle and did not want another car from the company, I decided that I would have Hyundai buy out the lease. I test drove the 2021 Hyundai Sonata Limited, and I immediately fell in love; our salesman, George Arau, even let my mother and I drive it without him in it! I was ready to sign right then and there, but there was a slight problem: my previous lease, unlike 99% of other leases out there, did not allow other manufacturers to buy out leases. Keyes Hyundai, though, went above and beyond to help me out of the lease, with one of the managers connecting us to one of his friends at another dealership affiliated with my previous car's brand, so we were able to get the car bought out after all! This was all done within less than 24 hours. The following day, when we gave our car to the affiliated dealer, George even offered to give us a ride to the dealer, all the way from Calabasas to Van Nuys, on his day off. Even though we declined the ride, he still met us on his day off to finish what we had started the previous day. All said and done, there was ZERO negotiation. For a vehicle that had an MSRP $10k more than my last car, we got a lease that was one year shorter and the same amount of money down for almost $50/month cheaper. Lucine, in the finance department, was even kind enough to throw in the dent and ding coverage for free when we enrolled in the end of lease protection program. Though the process was a bit long, I would happily relive the process. After purchasing the vehicle, the dealer and Hyundai have been nothing but kind to us, constantly asking us for feedback on the vehicle and dealership experience and ensuring that everything is working properly. I have already recommended this dealership to countless people. If you are in the market for a new or used car, I implore you to quit searching and go to Keyes Hyundai. I am not one to write bad reviews, but I feel as though I need to speak up in order to alert the public about the horrible service I have received at this dealership, as well as my experience overall. My husband took our 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 to be serviced because the horn was not working. The service center made us aware that they would not be getting to the car for several days. Not only did they not offer to provide us with a loaner vehicle, but a few days later we received a call making us aware that they lost the key we had given them. My husband provided them with our second key as they stated they could not work on the car without a key. On December 31, 2024, we received a call making us aware that the car was READY (key word) to be picked up and the servicing had been completed. However, when my husband arrived, they spent over an hour of time LOOKING for the car we had left in their care. Yes, they finally came to him and told him they had LOST our vehicle. The associate told him to simply come back after New Years, and they would try to locate the car by then. We returned to the dealership on January 2, 2025, per their request and all we received from the dealer was what we already knew: They suspected the car had been stolen, and now they wanted US to find it. They refused to check their cameras or contact the police until we helped them find the car's location. Now it has been over a month without our car, and the dealership did not do anything to assist us. Not even a courtesy call or a kind gesture to let us know that they are apologetic about their negligence. TLDR: I left my car at this dealership to be serviced, and they lost it. I haven't seen my car in over a month, and the dealership has not reached out to me again to provide any help. I would NOT recommend carrying out any business here. read more

We did not have an appointment, so that was on us, but at the dealership, no one greeted us or spoke to us or checked in with us. If there'd been any interest we could've scheduled something. It didn't look busy, but maybe everyone was on test drives, who knows. We tried to get someone's attention, but to no avail. We went outside to see if there were more sales staff out there, looked at a few cars and just gave up. We ended up driving to El Monte instead of going to Keyes Toyota, which was a minute away, and buying a fully-loaded Prius Prime a couple of hours later that we love. I have had no problems with that. It made me to renew my car lease for second time with them - a new car ofcourse. They have taken 3 weeks to just identify what part was needed and even after 4 full weeks, I have no ETA of when I will get the car. They did give me a loaner car but I had to literally run between the dealership and corporate to get them give me a loaner car equivalent to what I owned - a tucson or something equal. I was given, sonata then elantra and finally they have agreed to give a Kona .. I have been going to their service center almost everyweek. When we first wanted to buy a nexo, we came here to check them out. When speaking with a salesman, we informed her we spoke with another dealer who was selling the nexos at MSRP. She laughed at that, said no, that's not happening, and when we insisted it is, she was rude and accused us of wasting her time because they weren't going to sell them at MSRP. Later on, after we already bought our nexo, we checked on pricing here again out of curiosity. Lo and behold, they had to drop their above msrp fee. Now, onto the service center. There was a hacker, and their systems were held hostage. We scheduled service on the nexo here because Tustin wasn't scheduling anyone during this time. Keyes Van Nuys said they were handwriting appointments in. The appointment was for 3 weeks later. Ok, no problem. We arrive early, and we see the guy cleaning all of the tablets. 15 minutes later, a porter comes out and asks if we have an appointment cause they're too busy for walk-ins. We explained what was told to us. He asked if we received an email confirming the appointment, and we reminded him their servers were down at the time. He tells us to go speak to the guy who was cleaning tablets. He tells us that they wouldn't have been penciling in anyone, they weren't taking appointments at that time, and that would've been like 3 weeks ago. How funny is it that the appointment WAS scheduled 3 weeks ago. Apparently, you should always save the name of the person who says they've got you scheduled for x date and time because they wanted to know who we spoke with 3 weeks ago for a 2 minute call. They said they'll try to help us out but would need the car ALL day and could order a Lyft within a 5 mile radius. Yeah, we are more than 20 miles away, dude. Well, they can schedule us, but again, the appointment would be 3 weeks out. My experience here at this dealer is limited, but so far, both sales and service suck. This is why we went to other dealers to purchase and service previously. I recommend others do the same. read more

Beware Unless you have a free oil change or a recall, DO NOT come here for service. Unsure if you have a free oil change? Call ahead. Anything else you can 10x cheaper somewhere else. They also send you a text saying "call or text this number with any questions" I called, sent a text, called a different line that rang forever, called a different line that rang forever and finally called the operator. The operator got frustrated at me when I mentioned I couldn't get through and interrupted me trying to explain what department I would like to get to. You'd think with all the price gouging they could afford someone to tell them to set better service expectations and / or pick up a phone. Recall appointment took one month to get even though my check engine light was on. Although this is a long time, it was sooner than I could get at any other Hyundai dealership. They tried to cancel my appointment the day before it was scheduled stating that someone had not yet been assigned to my recall case. Short story is that they worked it out and got me in for the appointment which was exactly as they described and within the estimated time frame. They seemed pretty well-organized with friendly customer service. The waiting room was nothing special and a bit too small for the amount of people waiting, but otherwise comfortable enough and they seemed to try to clear it out as fast as possible. While I was in the waiting room, they texted me a list of needed service options and costs to accept or decline, which is pretty convenient and time efficient. I'm not sure if everyone knows this but dealerships charge about double what auto shops charge, so of course I declined and will follow up with my mechanic. They did my recall services and I felt that they treated me well and gave me good information. They could not help me with warranty issues but I don't believe it is their fault but rather the fault of Hyundai and their misleading and useless warranty. I would never recommend buying a Hyundai due to dangerous unreliability (Google recalls and complaints). However, if you are stuck with one, I do recommend this dealership for service. read more

He explained everything about the car, rode with us on the test drive to make sure we understood everything, and said to contact him if we had questions!
