Had a 9am appointment because my check engine light was on. They said they couldn't even look at it for 3-4 days. Since it took me three weeks just to get the appointment they said they'd see what they could do. An hour or more later they didn't know why and said they had to do a test that would cost $600 and take 3 to 4 hours. Went home around 11 and that's the last I heard about my car. Texted them three times and one call with no response. Called the next day left 2 messages. Got put on hold a lot. No return calls or answer. So I called and texted them that I will be there at 4:30 to pick up my car regardless. They kept my car without talking to me and I have not authorized any work so I'm paying 600 a 800 for nothing. I'm told they're under staffed but that's not my fault. Their service has really gone down and I will not be returning. read more

On December 30, Hyundai Tucson 2022 engine light coming on and off with no obvious problems, but "Blue link" kept telling me to get it looked at and serviced. Couldn't get an appointment until January 22. The engine light wasn't currently on, so they didn't immediately look at my car. 4 days later. They still haven't looked at my car and given it a diagnostic. We still can't get anyone to look at it, or let us know what is going on after 4 days of being without my car. Bought this car in late August (4 months) and now has a check engine light. I had to replace the lowbeam headlight and the back breaklght as they went out in that timeframe. They sold me a horrible used car. I contacted the dealership and they did not want to offer me a courtesy car to get around. They told me to contact Kia but Kia told told me to contact the dealership I bought it from which is keys Hyundai. They do not want to make an exception and help me out. I do not have a car to get around as of now. KIA told me the car has a bad bearing for the steering wheel console and needs a replacement catalytic Converter. First, I am so thankful for allowing my car to be inspected without appointment. The manager is considerate enough to tell me that I may have to wait for 4-5hrs. This is how urgent it is for me. My 67500 mile service was booked and processed properly but Keyes Hyundai once again failed to even out the pressure of my tires even though they marked it down as done. Each tire is supposed to have the same PSI after a rotation. I was billed for it. Second time this has happened here, the dealership where I bought the car. This post is about the service experience at Keyes only. A warning light came on in my 2019 Hyundai Nexo so I brought it in for service on 11/6 - there was also a recall on the vehicle so was going to get both addressed. When I dropped the vehicle off, the service advisor (Aaron Burkhard) asked me if I was going to wait for the vehicle - I said it depended on how long it was going to take. He then noted it would be a couple days so looped me into a rental car they would pay for - he also then texted me and noted that I could use that number for updates on my vehicle. I picked up a Toyota Corolla rental and headed off. After not hearing from anyone for days, I started texting the number the service advisor gave me with zero response. I also called the dealer and was put on hold with a message saying "your call is very important to us" until the system hung up on me. I called back and asked the operator to connect me with the service manager and she forwarded me to Kevin Ormes's line, which ultimately dumped me into voicemail on 11/9. I left a voicemail, which was never returned. I then drove to the dealer in Van Nuys and went to Aaron's office to get an update on the car in person. He looked surprised to see me and then looked up my car in his system - there was no acknowledgement of the complete lack of updates coming from him over the previous two weeks after I asked him about the silence - when I mentioned that I had left a message for Kevin, the service manager, that was never returned, he noted that Kevin had left the company. At this point, he reported that there were supply chain issues and the part for my car had not arrived yet - this was a new piece of info since it was not provided when I dropped the car off. I asked him when he estimated the part would be in and he was not able to guess. He then said that he would keep me updated on the progress with my car. To this day, still hasn't been a single update received from anyone at the dealer on the status of my car over the last 8 weeks it has been there. I continued to text the rep over the following weeks and also called Keyes multiple times, winding up in the queue that ultimately resulted in a hang up after no one answered. I then submitted a complaint to Hyundai Customer Care on 11/27. I did get a call on 12/3, where a rep noted that my part had come in and that they would work on my car on Monday 12/6 and I would have it back shortly thereafter. As I then heard nothing through Wednesday, I called the dealer and customer care back on 12/8. Customer care noted that my case had been closed since the dealer said my car was going to be worked on. I noted that I still didn't have the car back nor received any updates so needed my case reopened. The rep then did that. I also kept ringing the dealer periodically and either left a message or was hung up on by the system. On 12/13, a human did pick up in the service department to tell me 1) Aaron, my service rep, had left the company and 2) there were no notes on my account as to the status of my vehicle. He said if I called again, to ask for a service manager. It is now 12/28 - I still have not received a single update from the dealer while customer care has also not been able to provide me an update of any kind after attempts to contact the dealer. I have never had a dealer or a car company treat me this way - both seem to not be very concerned that a customer of theirs has been without their vehicle for almost 2 months nor has received any kind of solid update on what is happening. So, just beware if you need to service your vehicle at this Hyundai dealer that you may wind up being completely forgotten as I have been. read more

The sales experience was fine but the used car is bought needed a brake job less than a week after I bought it.

This is now my second time buying a car from this location. Ruby offered me the best deal out of any other dealer, patiently answered all my questions, was genuinely empathetic when I told her my car was stolen and totaled, and even picked me up from Enterprise after I dropped off my rental before they closed. She continued to provide great service after I purchased the car and signed all the paperwork by giving me a full tour of all the features that are inside the car and setting up my new Blue Link and Karr Track. She's not pushy, is a good listener and honest about what she doesn't know feature wise. Fred from finance was also really nice and made sure all the terms I got in writing via email were met during the contract signing process. Working with Ruby and Fred felt more like chatting with friends than going through a typical painful car buying process. Overall, definitely recommend this dealership. read more

I bought a used car yesterday. I have some concerns. There are some issues. AS is does not mean to hide the car's problems or to lie to costumer. My Hyundai had a recall so I made an appointment to get it fixed. My appointment was for 10:15 and I arrived at 10:05. It took some time for someone to help me but once I was helped it was quick. They offer a free Lyft ride home and back which is nice and convenient. They told me it would take 3 hours and it did as I received a text at 1pm that it was ready. They sent a Lyft driver to pick me up and I was back at Hyundai. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was when I got there no one really helped. I finally found out I had to go to the cashier to retrieve my ticket to get my car. Then they told me I had to wait for the guy to come. No one came for a while and it was over 100° outside. Someone finally came, brought the car and I was on my way. I would definitely come back to get a recall fixed at this location. read more

I don't know how my experience went from bad to worse. I went to pick up my car in the beginning of August, only to find that the check engine light which they are trying to fix is still there, and i haven't even left the dealership lot. Then i waited 10 more days, no update. Called and found out my service advisor has left the company. No one notified me. After three days, they notified me that my car is ready. Missed the pick up on Saturday because the concierge gave me the wrong hours. Picked up on a Monday. Looking for my new service advisor only to find out that he too has left the company (what is going on?). Again, nobody notified me. Waited 25 minutes because they lost my key. When my car was finally driven to me... THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON!!!! At this point i am at my whit's end. Listened to excuse that the technician working on my car has left the country, employees quit, etc. Seriously, you have got to find a better work flow. They're not mean, they just don't put any effort into being pleasant with the customer. They act as if they're just there for a job and that's it. I got some real attitude from more than one person today. And one guy was downright odd. When I pulled into the garage that they use to check in cars, he walked up to my window and just stared at me without saying anything like MIchael Myers. They only way I have brought my card is because of Hyundai's recalls. Otherwise I wouldn't be having my cars serviced here. Last time I was here the cashier did a fraudulent charge without my consent in front of me while I was reviewing my paperwork. What did you guys do? Let her keep working here? That's a bad business practice! I would have fired her on the spot! I complained over email, to one of the managers, and via phone! Your answer was "I apologize for the inconvenience, we will take care of this matter" really? For me this is not the way this matter should have had handled. This girl still working here and she look at me in a very rude way. She's mad cuz I complained about her fraudulent practices with credit cards. I'm another note, I had one my cars serviced today august 10, 2022. Carlos Montoya (a brand new advisor) helped me today. He left a voicemail making some recommendations for my car. I told texted saying that I can not take phone calls cuz I'm working. So later on I heard his voicemail. I agreed over text to one of the repairs. Later on when I get to the dealership to pick up my car I asked him if the technician did perform the break fluid change his response "no, he did not, but if you want it done you gotta leave your car overnight to get it done" what?? I authorized you to get the repair done over text but you didn't do it? Why? Plus I would have had to pay for another car rental just because of him? Really? Guys come on! You know you're making business out of car services. Make yo it costumers happy! I wouldn't deny that they were very generous performing my oil changes I really appreciate that. I've worked at car dealerships, and have bought from plenty over the years. My experience buying a 2017 Kia Sorento from Keyes Hyundai is how it should be done! I bought my car from Carlo, and he was great. I came in a couple times, and was hoping to get a newer Santa Fe, but was waiting for insurance money from my other Santa Fe getting totaled. Carlo certainly wanted me to commit on the spot (it's his job), but didn't really pressure me when I told him my situation. He also kept in touch with me over the following week, but it never felt like actual pressure. When I came back ready to buy, it turned out the 2019 Santa Fe was more than I wanted to spend. After a little prodding, he backed off, and then walked me around the lot, and found a slightly older Sorento (low miles, in great condition) that better fit my budget. We negotiated a price, after which he had the Sorento fully cleaned, and then he personally took it to the gas station to fill up the tank. Carlo went out of his way to make sure I left with the car I needed, and at a price I was comfortable with. I'll definitely be back when it's time to buy my next car! read more

Terrible terrible terrible. DO NOT get your car serviced here. I wasted 5 hours of my life trying to get my new Hyundai its first maintenance service at Keyes on Van Nuys. I was told when I made the appointment that it could take up to 2 hours, but since I live more than half an hour away, I told them I'd wait for it while the service was performed. Little did I know that their waiting area is a hot makeshift construction site with no wifi, seats with taped-up cushions, and a glorified (but still disgusting) portapotty for a restroom. When I arrived for my appointment at 2pm, they told me they were running a bit behind, and it might take up to 2-1/2 hours. When I very politely asked for an update at 4:30, they said again that they were running behind, but they assured me my car would definitely be serviced and ready by 6pm. At 6:15pm it became clear that I was going to be the very last person left in the service area, and they finally told me that they wouldn't be able to service my car that day after all. Instead, they said I needed to take my credit card deposit so they could give me a rental car for the evening, which I would then have to return to them tomorrow. I told them that was ridiculous, that after I'd just sat waiting for over 4 hours for nothing, they would need to deliver my serviced car to me tomorrow, and they could pick up their rental car at the same time. They said they couldn't do that, so I demanded my car back without service. As if all that wasn't bad enough, when I took my car the following week to Keyes Hyundai of Mission Hills to actually finally get it serviced, I was told that Keyes of Van Nuys had submitted an invoice to Hyundai even though they'd not actually performed any service. (Side note though that the Mission Hills service team was great, I was in and out in 90 minutes.) Overall, visiting Keyes on Van Nuys was a horrible first service experience as a Hyundai owner, especially when service is supposed to be such a selling point for Hyundai. When I tried sharing this experience directly with the Hyundai Corp since I firgured they should know, they sent back a generic reply telling me that each service center is independently owned and operated, and that I should share my concerns with the service manager at the dealership. In other words, they clearly didn't care, so a total fail on the Hyundai Corp front too. read more

I thought it was me! Oh thank god, I thought it was me during this whole experience. Once I read the reviews it really gave me a sense of relief. Never going back to this dealership and there is a huge reason I only trust my mechanic. Had an engine replacement and within hours of pick up had all kinds of sensors triggering. Nothing but problems over the next couple of days until my mechanic opened back up. BUT GUESS WHAT! My mechanic found the problem. Someone that serviced my vehicles engine moved the gear shift thingy under the hood. Umm, I go in for an engine replacement that is completely to one side under the hood and the gear shift thingy is completely ON THE OTHER SIDE! Folks, be careful. Not sure what I personally did to anyone here but someone had it out for me. Thank god, I wasn't killed by this. God is always on my side and evil does not prevail. The customer service is -0 it is truly awful!! No exaggeration. Everyone seems in a rush, no time to talk and hear the customer out, the one lady Cassandra in the service area has a nasty attitude. And I only came here because my mechanic is not authorized to complete the job on this settlement. The ONLY TIME these people are kind and not rushing you is if you are buying a car. My brand new Ioniq 5 broke down in the middle of a busy intersection in 100 degree weather with my 3 year old. I called Keyes Hyundai, where I had just got my brand new lease, the person who answered said she couldn't do anything for me until 3 weeks because they were backed up. Even with me explaining the situation. So I asked to speak to a manager and I told him the same story that I am stuck in a busy intersection and my car died causing a traffic jam - his response - "what do you want me to do?" This is the manager at Keyes where I had just leased my brand new car. He said that his colleague already informed me about the long wait and that there is nothing else he can do and suggested that I call a tow truck and deliver it to them and they'll keep it there for a number of weeks until it can have a diagnostics run. At this stage I am more concerned about my 3 year old son in the crazy heat in the middle of an intersection. The manager couldn't have cared less. by the time AAA got to me an hour later the car switched back on and the AAA couldn't have been nicer and followed me home. I immediately called Keyes Hyundai again and got someone new on the phone who immediately said oh no that's an emergency we can see you tomorrow. Couldn't believe her ears when I told her what the manager said. So I Take my car next morning at scheduled time. Waited in line for over and hour just for them to take my car - a red flag as to just how many problems these Hyundai's are having. Cut to the guy telling me that they will get back to me within 24 hours and that I should have my car by Saturday - 2 days later. Cut to 8 days later and multiple phone calls and messages left with managers,service department etc etc - hours wasted on the phone being transferred only for no one to pick up and to have to leave yet another message. Not one single person has been able to tell me what's going on. Not one single person, including management has called me back to let me know what has happened. I have finally just spoken to someone,Raymond, who promised me a call but never did. He has just now informed me that they don't know what is wrong with my car and that they will be getting an engineer to come and look at it Thursday next week - a week from now!!! I have never before had such awful customer service - I have no idea how this company is run but clearly they do not care about their customers. I was promised a loaner vehicle. No one has bothered coming back to me on that. I need my car for work and now they are telling me they will have my car for another week. Story to be continued. I would avoid this dealership at all costs. My new Tucson lost all sound when it was 3 months old. When it was diagnosed the solution was to unplug and plug in the amplifier. However it happened again 3 more times. Thankfully Jonathan was aware of the problem, documented all of the occurrences and ordered a new amplifier. I have sound again!! I was especially pleased that he listened to me and didn't act like I was a dumb female who knew nothing about cars. If you need service be sure to ask for Jonathan. Same Elantra N, same dealer, same salesman. I'm shopping for a car very thoroughly and on my list is an Elantra N. It's advertised by them on some Cars for sale sites for a lesser asking price than what I was sent on a "transparent" breakdown. The same salesmen I spoke to months ago pretty much lost the possible sale that could have occurred - for the second time after I brought up the fact the advertisement didn't mention a mark up or dealer installed protection, and the advertised price was less money they were asking for. I was promptly ignored and that's okay - I'm not entitled to a response after I point out an issue with the advertising, but if you're seriously looking for a specialty vehicle like the Elantra N and want any sort of respect (even for inquiring) or a fair buying process - I do not believe you will find it here because of 2 experiences I've had. read more

Set an appointment with purchasing agent after my Hyundai had been stolen twice. There is now a recall for this since it is so easy to steal these cars. When I showed up at the dealership to speak with this agent they informed me he was not in that day. If it wasn't bad enough this car had been stolen twice due to poor anti-theft software, now I have to have my time wasted by an agent who is supposed to be a "professional" who cannot even inform me he will not be there when we spoke over the phone and arranged an appointment. I've been to this Hyundai at least two other times to get my car serviced and have always liked coming because of the customer lounge and their efficiency. I have an electric car and it doesn't need much done so I'm usually out within the hour. I don't know if it's the renovations or they're just overbooking themselves, but I came at my 8am appointment time and JUST got a notification that they opened up my car at 10:03. I've watched 4 employees happily stand around and chat for the past 45 min doing seemingly nothing to help. I've been sitting around for two hours and I'm told it's going to take another hour before they're done. This is unacceptable and an unnecessary waste of my time. I will never be returning to this dealership nor will I be recommending their service department. Update. Received a text at 10:45 that they found 2 issues. Hyundai had issued a recall for the 2015 Tucson and I scheduled an appointment for 8:00 am Saturday 06/24/2023, they even offered a security upgrade for the same vehicle and also the complimentary check up which I availed of and was confirmed as to the appointment . When I arrived at the dealership Keyes Hyundai Van Nuys, the check-in clerk told me there was no such appointment and called in a service advisor, who immediately took the vin number and check his computer and told me that he could not find any appointment but would take in the service in about 3 to 4 hours , which I declined and went home, I called the number on the recall notice and it was confirmed that I had set the appointment for that time. I know dealers do not like to service recall appointments on Saturdays because they can gouge their customers on service rather than get paid by Hyundai which is notoriously cheap, but an appointment should be honored as the car had service done at the dealer and was bought at the same dealership. I have service done on my other cars from both Keyes Lexus and Keyes Toyota and was always treated well but I think lower quality car get lower quality service...I will never recommend this dealership and maybe even this car brand read more
