DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR IN FOR REPAIRS! The Keyes Hyundai Service Repair team has proven itself careless to the concerns of their Customers, and do not thoroughly assess problems. I have had the same issue with my rear passenger brake light since 2016 and have continually relied upon them with faith... to no avail. Each encounter with them has taught me that they do not care to be helpful... they would rather be right in a fight. They never listened to the concerns and revisited the same attempts of repair, even though I tried to explain their efforts had failed before. I've tried to be kind but after years of shelling out money and getting pulled over and ticketed by police because of negligence from a dealer who won't remedy a situation ... I've simply had enough. I absolutely would not recommend them. They are not reliable. and to this day I drive without a properly functioning brake light on our city streets, even though I have already paid them hundreds of dollars for repairs I never saw. The last quote they gave me would set me back an additional $689.+ for a hopeful remedy to the brake light... a light I have been paying for, for years. So now they will blame it on me for refusal of service. Karma will do to them, more than this review ever could. I'm so glad I execute my job with diligence and true compassion. I recieved a quote to fix something in my car and when it was done I got charged 150 more then I planned for. Seeing my frustration Len listened to me and empathized and guess what??? He fixed it ! When does that happen? What a great manager and a great team. I really wanted to buy a Palisade, waited for a while because of these over markups. So today I saw a flyer they sending out, calming "SPECIAL this weekend only selling cars less than market. " So I gave them a call, got a run around for a bit, then finally talked to a manager and this is the deal: The car is 48500, plus market of $6000 and $3000 addon, a total of $9000 of additional fees and stuff that I don't want. So with the flyer, they can take off $1000. $1000 off?!!! what how is that even below market. What a bunch of bull crap. People don't fall for these markups and addon, it is a waste of money, just wait til next year. If people keep falling for these traps then prices for cars will never go back to normal or wait til chip shortage is no longer a problem. Terrible experience here at the service department. When my vehicle was returned to my the battery was dead and there was damage to my vehicle that was definitely not there when I brought in the car. I have to say that my visit to Keyes Hyundai was the best experience ever and absolutely blew me away. Faisal Islam, Sales & Leasing Consultant was unbelievably helpful. He didn't pressure me, let me test drive cars and gave me "real talk" about the options available. It was wild but I actually had a really great time! He kept checking to make sure that I was happy with everything and I was. The entire process was quick, safe and dare I say delightful and I left the dealership with a gorgeous new car and a good deal for my trade in. Please please go elsewhere to ANY other Hyundai dealer and not Keyes. I had a bad feeling about this place once I walked and I wish I listened to my gut. They did not explain the upfront charges well to take a look at my car. Then they did not call me to explain the main diagnostic or any other diagnostics associated. They just sent a report (of $5000) and when I called back to get clarification the service line would just ring without anyone answering the phone and couldn't get a call back. I truly do not understand how this can be called customer service. Then when I picked up my car they charged an extra $300 to my bill that the original report did not even account for. I've had my Hyundai for many years and I've never been treated this way. My father was also with me and also saw the disrespect the staff have towards their customers and poor communication. He had also never dealt with such a difficult service dealership. I know they'll write back and say "they gave me the information", "I'm in the wrong somehow","they did their best", they have "certain policies" etc, etc, etc. I would highly suggest finding another service provider, no one should have to be treated this way. I usually go Garden Grove Hyundai and they are much better than this place. I made a HUGE mistake trying Keyes this time instead. The sad part is if Keyes actually had any heart for their customers they could make some simple small changes that would go a long way. Instead they will just take your money with indignant disregard for concerns you may have. I not only lost my money here but felt completely disrespected. No pressure, just an extremely knowledgeable person willing and able to answer all of our questions and let us LEAVE the lot to make our decision. We're returning Friday thanks to Sam. Was there yesterday looking to trade in my vehicle to purchase another. The salesman (Hispanic bald wearing mask man) was very kind and patient, showing us alternative options to fit our budget. We came down to the negotiating part, and of course, another person was brought in. I wish I remembered his name but I don't because he mainly introduced himself to my husband. In trying to negotiate prices, he initially started speaking to both of us. Then as a last effort to secure a deal, he completely shifted his body and face away from both of us and started to address ONLY my husband. Little did he know is that I control the finances in our home and that I am the breadwinner in this marriage. I immediately let him know and he didn't even apologize. He got up and left to "check" if he could close the deal on our terms and did not come back. The kind salesman came back and returned our licenses. I had never felt so offended by such sexist gestures. I am not one to write reviews unless I feel I have experienced something offensive. read more

However the moment we started talking to the sales rep (if you can call him that) he was very dismissive and did not even introduce himself. He quoted us $600 payment for Kona EV which is a total BS because I am paying $650 for a $60K BMW. Price aside they have a very toxic environment and unmotivated employees. Imraz H - the finance manager: he went through the documents fairly fast. Sometimes it can be too fast when signing, so make sure you look closely. My story gives you enough info. I complained about long hold times and your answer is call you!?!? You suck and now I have to do more work to complain about it. Just another reason your service is awful. I don't care if I like my Nexo - 1 star. I can't wait until this lease is up. I'm done with Keyes only because of the service department. The service department is terrible. Even giving leeway for covid, it's bad. No communication and not getting back to me when they said they would. Expect 15 min hold times to talk to someone and the "I'll call you right back" status updates and no call back. Last 2 times I was in: 1. Started Tuesday - Dropped off Tuesday morning, no problem. Oscar said he's super busy today, so wouldn't be able to call me until later in the day to give me an update. No problem for me. Of course no call. By the time I called, they were already closed. Called Wednesday morning a LOT. When you hit 2 for maintenance, it would just hang up on you. Eventually got Kevin. Kevin said he would find out and call me back. Nothing from Kevin on Wednesday. Called Thursday morning, same phone issues. Called Lithia corporate (Keyes was bought in November), spoke to someone who said she would call me back. Called Keyes back and eventually got Kevin again. Now he had an update - needs a part, its backordered, no ETA. I asked for a rental, Kevin said he needed to "contact corporate" and he would get back to me. Corporate calls me back, I asked her to ok a rental. She said its up to the dealer, but she would call back and try and get them to go quickly. That whole process did happen quickly. They ok'd a rental and I picked it up, no problems. 2. July - Needed a tire replaced that only they had in stock for some reason. Dropped it off in the morning, of course I had to call for status. I was told my car was done and to come down. I live 5 mins away and came right over. I was left outside for 10 mins knocking on doors because Sales was closed, but service was still open and sign said not to come in due to COVID. Was told wasn't done, then it was, then give us a few mins that turned out to be 15 mins, which is about how much time it takes to change a tire, so I'm guessing no one did anything and then rushed to do it. Let me start off by saying that I have leased many cars, and each experience has been different, whether good or bad. One thing I will say, is that as I get more seasoned at this, I am able to filter through the sales pitches and get straight to the aspect of the deal. And that is where Steve Chung comes in. Steve is the internet sales manager over at Hyundai and he was my "go-to guy" when it came to getting a new car. I was able to cut to the chase with him, be on the level and ultimately drive away with a car that I knew I would love. Given that I was getting out of my previous car lease a little bit early, Steve took the challenge in stride and delivered...BIG TIME. I have had all different types of cars, from luxury to electric so I am not one to shy away from getting a car simply cause of a name plate. If you have not seen the new Hyundai Genesis, you are in for a treat. I have been keeping my eye on this car since it first came out last year and it was on my list of "must sees" since my lease on my Chevy Volt was ending. If you want a near-luxury car from a reliable brand, you need to see the offerings of this dealership and ask for Steve. The entire aspect from start to finish was beyond easy and pleasant. I knew what I wanted going in to the dealership, so when I got there, Steve took me to the car I was considering. Took out for a spin and I was sold on the car. Only thing left to do was work out the numbers. 2 bottles of water and a couple of homemade cookies later, we had a deal and I watched as my bad boy headed downstairs to get cleaned up. The finance associates were easy to approach and it never felt like I was signing my life away with the paperwork. If you have ever leased or purchased a car, you know how daunting and intimidating that aspect can be! Bottom line is that all the sales reps at this dealership work hard, I was there till about 10pm and they were still plugging away with customers with a smile on their face. Given how rare it is to get a smile during regular business hours, it was refreshing to see the sales reps at this dealership enjoy what they were doing. The only way that can happen, in my opinion at least, is if you are selling your customers a car you believe in. This was my second purchase from Keyes Hyundai, the first from Steve, but definitely not my last. If you want to be taken care of, you need to call Steve and get the car YOU want. With every compliment I get on the car going forward, I know I will have Steve to thank for making it happen! read more

This review pertains solely to the Service Department. Don't bring your vehicle here. The absurd lack of customer service and mismanagement directly tarnishes the Hyundai name. After attempting to resolve a warranty dispute for 34 days, I still have yet to receive the simplest of requests from Keyes - to submit a prior authorization form to the Hyundai Warranty Department. The Warranty Department cannot move forward with any sort of investigation until this paperwork is submitted to them. I've called asking to speak to the service manager, Angela, for 13 days and every time the operator explains she's busy and will call me back ASAP. At this point I have to believe Keyes is deliberately creating roadblocks to halter any movement on repairing my vehicle. To add to this already appalling service, on 5/19/20 (19 days after originally bringing my car in and 15 days after traveling down the warranty dispute rabbit hole) I receive a text from Keyes stating that the parts have been ordered and that they are proceeding with the repair. Overjoyed, I immediately call Keyes and reach my favorite operator stating Angela was busy and would return my call ASAP. I called every other day for 10 days before getting a response. When my account manager, Veronica (who I have to say has been pleasant to work with) finally returns my call she is dumbfounded to hear this news. She looks at her file notes and mentions that Angela must have sent that text to the wrong customer. Are you kidding me? I am outraged. This whole abhorrent experience has been heavily weighing on me the past month and I am baffled how Keyes is still operational. I hardly ever write reviews unless well-warranted, but the level of shoddy professionalism here glaringly reminded me to leave a review so no other individual has to ever experience this same scenario. In-case you're wondering, it's been 4 days since that conversation and I am contacted by Keyes asking if I want to proceed with the $15K repair. I reach out to Hyundai Warranty who still says no prior authorization form has been sent over. Don't bring your vehicle here. -- I do want to mention that while Keyes has been horrendous to work with, everyone I've spoken with at Hyundai's Warranty Department has been extremely responsive and a pleasure to work with. read more

Being a Toyota family (literally every car we own is Toyota--and I actually still own one), I never pictured myself driving a Hyundai. So I did my research for the small car category and narrowed it down to my top 3 choices (based on cost, specs, safety ratings, etc.) and it came down to the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and the Toyota Corolla. I went to each respective dealer, test drove all of them, and it was then a tie between the Elantra and the Corolla. I liked the Elantra just a tad bit more, but I would've been perfectly content with either one to be honest. So on Jan 17th I went in to this dealership expecting a long day of BS, because that's been my experience with Toyota and other dealerships (we all know how this business works-sleazy all the way). However my dynamic duo of a team (Brian S. in the finance dept. and Bobby H. the salesperson) made this THE MOST pleasant experience of buying a car a person could ever dream of! It literally took us less than 3 hours to choose a car, test drive it, inspect it, and agree on a number. I was in awe with the ease and transparency both these gentlemen offered. They treated us with the utmost respect and integrity. Bobby was very patient and answered all my questions (and there were many) and Brian was pleasant, no-nonsense, and just wonderful. I needed to leave so I returned later that evening to sign the paperwork and give the down payment and Michael R. helped us finish the paperwork, brought out the car, went over the details and helped me set everything up. He was very nice and friendly as well. Like I told Brian that day, I will be referring everyone I know to them! I am so incredibly pleased with this experience...literally blown away! It has now been 2 months since I got the car and thankfully everything is great. I love my Elantra!! The only two things I find a little ridiculous are this--they don't include a spare tire because they claim it helps the car be more fuel efficient (which is complete BS in my opinion, but I knew this when I bought the car) and they don't accept debit cards for monthly payments on their website, ACH only (well, they take credit cards but charge an $8 fee which is also ridiculous). I brought the latter up to the CEO of the company and he wrote me back within an hour (yes an hour) to address the issue, which quite frankly really pleased and impressed me and which is why I'm not deducting any stars. It's not that big of a deal, just annoying little things they should improve in the near future. read more

Don't go here unless you want to be ripped off. Took my car in to see what was wrong, asked them to fill the fluid in my AC as it wasn't working. Was told by RUSS PASQUALE that there was a leaking hose and would cost $300+ and needed to be replaced. Luckily I took my car elsewhere where I told them I needed a hose replaced. They took a look and said no you just need fluid filled and just patched not replaced. Got it fixed elsewhere and it's been fine for weeks. THEY WILL TRY TO TELL YOU SOMETHING IS WRONG TO MAKE YOU PAY Brian here wants to know how they can improve their business. I ended up getting a car but had to argue the price back down to close to the sticker price I saw online, basically they added 5,000 dollars more than the sticker price by saying I needed certain items for security and anti theft. When I talked to ruby I asked if the car was CPO and if that was included or if it was an additional charge I got no response come to find out they were trying to charge me an additional 1400 for CPO and said " oh nobody told you?" As well as the the anti theft and security that was not told to me over the phone when I asked. Ruby was at fault but I'm absolutely sure the salesmen told her not to say anything. I got the CPO for free but not until AFTER I fought for it. Just be careful the sticker price or the price shown on the website IS NOT going to be the same when you go and purchase. read more

My mom, aunt, and I had just came back from Honda in north hollywood VERY disappointed that they didn't approve us for a car. Going out on a lim, we decided to stop by KEYES Hyundai Van Nuys. I was already pretty bummed, since I've been trying for 3 years to get approved in some way for a new or used car because my 97 van only had a few days left of living. We parked and were greeted immediately by HAKOP. He is your go to guy! He has a lot of energy so it might come off in a bad way because he is a salesman but he is genuinely a great guy and really helped us. He treated us as if he was buying a car for his family member. I've co-signed and helped my daughter lease 2 vehicles, helped an ex wife buy a vehicle and my daughters friend to buy a vehicle from Keyes over the last several years, so it seemed a good idea to visit them now that my current lease is ending. I went by early on a Sunday morning and asked for Ruby, the sales rep. that was part of previous deals. She was busy with a client, so Eddie, a Sales Manager I've spoken to before came to help. I explained my situation to him and he sent Vanessa over to help, telling me she's one of the best. We test drove a car, and then the stereotypical questions began. How much are you looking to pay per month, what'll it take for you to buy a car today, blah, blah, blah. I asked Vanessa to email me the numbers after I'd given her some information to work with. Fast forward to the next Tuesday and I still hadn't had a response from Vanessa. I called and spoke with Vanessa again and she said she would get back to me. Later that day she called and started to tell me some numbers over the phone. I asked her to please email them over, to which she said okay. Quite honestly I think Vanessa should seek out a new career. The next day, Wednesday, I still hadn't received an email so I decided to go in person again. Upon arrival the receptionist let me know that Vanessa wasn't in, so I asked for Ruby, who was finishing with a customer. She asked me to wait for a few minutes. 45 minutes later, after a couple of quick "I'll be right there", I was still waiting. Instead of chasing her down literally begging to be helped I just left. Since then there have been precisely zero follow ups. Not a call, text or email from Ruby to apologize for completely wasting my time. I cannot express how thoroughly disappointed I am at the level of service I received. Unless you're buying or leasing a car that day it seems they really don't want your business, let alone ask them to provide you with some information so you can make an informed decision. The laziness of the parties involved is striking to me seeing as the customer is the cornerstone of their business. I shall not be recommending this dealership to any other friends or family. If anyone else is considering buying or leasing from Keyes Hyundai, owned by LITHIA motors, do so at your own peril. They're lazy and don't particularly care it seems.
