We went in to get a new car and had contacted them a day earlier. They provided us with a price for a specific car so we went in to talk. We saw the car and liked it, great! Then we head into the office and the rep starts bringing up paperwork. He quotes us a price $3500 over the MSPR citing "supply and demand". I had wasted half day to get here and they simply made a U turn on pricing from what they had told me previous night. And when I said no they call in their supervisor and he comes over saying "what can I do to make this deal happen right now?". I had no words for this guy. And while walking out the general courtesy from the rep took a nose dive. I already had 3 offers from other dealers and highest offer was significantly less than what Keyes quoted. They are not trust worthy people. Later on i realized that they made the offer on the phone only to get me in the showroom and had no intention of honoring it. Later on I get a call from the same guy and he tells me that the pricing can be worked on, and i tell him to give me a best price. That was my last communication, they never got back to me. So I last minute needed to get myself a car & my good friend John referred me to Alfred at Toyota Keyes. I went in not knowing what to expect because I currently still have a new car of about 2 years. The reason I decided to get a car is because I wanted something more small compared to my SUV. It works out perfectly because my sister had recently moved to LA and in need of a car. My SUV fits her more since it's more of a family car & she has a family. Tho the SUV is still registered in my name and purchased less than 2 years. It made my application a little bit more challenging. We went to looking to purchase a car, we decided to buy a Camry Le The price was ok nothing to feel great about. The sales person was friendly we thought knowledgeable. But then we got to meet the closing manager a total nightmare of a person that stress us out beyond believe almost forcing us to buy their satellite, and special maintenance service as a combo buy trying to trick us and by misleading us. When we told him what the salesperson told us something different he literarily told us the sales person doesn't know what he is taking about and we should only listen to him in a very disrespectful tone of voice and wouldn't let us call the sales person to verify the information. He kept gaslighting us and at every question we asked to get him prove of what he was claiming he would get upset redirect the conversation to something else. He would make claims about us that had no business making as if we were stupid. It was like being held hostage to the point we were ready to just drop the whole deal and move on to another dealer. Beware of this dealer! Make sure that when they promise you things that they write them on the contracts not just the "optional programs" paper. They tried to rip me off in multiple ways. I thought I dodged all their classic car sales men lies until today 2 and 1/2 yrs after the purchase. The first attempt was when I initially purchased the car. They called me in after the car transaction to tell me that my bank didn't approve my loan so I had to pay an extra 6K for the car. When I was about to leave the keys to the car they said they would sacrifice and eat up the extra cost. So because I loved my car I decided to let it go and sign again. I should have left them a used car. When I brought in my car for service the other day it turns out that I didn't get the 50K miles or 5 yr free maintenance the blond guy from finance promised. He wrote it on an unofficial paper but not on the contract. So yeah I got f***ed over. He had the balls to offer me a maintenance package! Well we will both learn a lesson here. Such an odd experience here. Looking for a car as my current lease expires in a few weeks. Set up an appointment to meet Karen for a test drive the following day at 1015am. I Was greeted by someone before I even got to the door. I told him I was looking for Karen and he said he could help me instead. He Said Karen was not a salesperson, she just sets up appointments. While I was out test driving, I received a call from the dealership if I was still planning on coming in for my appointment with Karen?!?! I had been there for about 45 already. He apologized and ended conversation. Get back to dealership and the salesman was outside waiting for me. I asked him a ballpark figure about pricing. He told me I'd have to put down about $3500 and I let him know I wasn't planning on putting down that much for a lease. He thanked me and that was the end of our conversation. He didn't try to sit down with me to try to make things work. And didn't offer an option to test drive other cars. I came to test drive more than one. I've never been to a dealership and they didn't even try to sell me a car. George Sidhom was wonderful to work with! I went in there with a very specific set of asks, hoping to simply upgrade my current RAV4 lease. We found EXACTLY what I was looking for (even with the craziness of inventory right now). My first lease had a pretty low monthly payment, due to a large down payment, so I knew my payment would be higher but was nervous to have a big jump. George really went out of his way to get me a good deal and a payment that made me feel confident to drive off that lot (I know this because I even shopped some monthly payments around...). Between Friday when I first met him and discussed my options I was easily able to contact him via phone/text to discuss options and never felt pressured. This place is trash! Keys TO being TRASH. *sales guys mistakes or shady sales practice *5 hour wait *TRYING TO UP SELL FOR HOURS *POOR professionalism *GETTING MAD FOR NOT buying insurance *implying car wont last more then 5 yrs I know it the holiday weekend but I was there for 5 hours for no reason. We basically picked out the car in 1 hour. But they proceed to make us wait an additional 4 hours because they were "under staff" on one of their biggest selling weekends. To make a situation worst, they wasted the last hour trying to up sell us, when I said NO 5 times. Wolfgang Nopper would not take NO as an answer. In his frustration he pulled out a court deposition to prove a terrible point and slammed it on the table. Only proving that keys is being sued for something miss leading. While wolfgang is getting confrontational, their are two sales guys yelling at each other in the hallway in front of everybody. I had a very unpleasant experience returning my car to this dealership after my lease ended. I showed up to initiate the transfer of title/liability phase of my agreement because I have not received any letter and I already made my last payment. I show up to discuss possible new lease options after termination and they send me home telling me they will call me back with the best price and that I could bring back the car at any time. No one ever called me back so I just went to return the car and deal with somebody else about leasing a new Toyota. I show up to return my lease, and they turned me away because I needed to make an appointment. So a day was wasted because of wrong information on their part. I guess the salesman just wanted to sell me on his behalf. Also the receptionist has a "not-my-problem" attitude about every phone call she takes. Nobody picks up their phone if I want to be transferred away from her so I am forced to deal with someone whose an unprofessional mismanaged employee. I returned the car to them finally because I needed to otherwise I want nothing to do when it comes to dealing with Van Nuys Keyes Toyota. Other would-be potential customers: They most likely have this attitude because they do not need your business, good for them. Toyota's are great cars that sell themselves. One of the absolute worst experiences of my life. Went with my family to purchase my leased car and made an appointment for 4:45 pm. Everything was finished 6 HOURS LATER! We left after 4 hours being there with nothing happening and asked them to call us when everything is ready. Got a call to go back and nothing was ready!! Spent another 2 hours until everything was done and over with. Secondly, SO MANY SHADY "MISTAKES"!! If you do go to this horrible customer service place, please please please double-check absolutely everything every single step of the way. They tried to change the price of the car's residual value MULTIPLE times "on accident" up until the very end. They added additional charges that were "mandatory" and never offered anything in return for their careless mistakes or holding us hostage for 6 hours. If we didn't double check then we would be paying about $3k more. Very shady! Please save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. I will gladly pay $3k more to save myself and my family 6 FRIGGING HOURS and not to be fixing their mistakes every step of the damn way. read more

Had a terrible experience trading in my Toyota lease and trying to lease a new vehicle. Was told that the lowest, base model version of a Toyota Corolla lease was going to be $100/mo more than the one I was trading in... which I leased in 2016. Akili was short with me and my boyfriend from the beginning, he took personal calls while we were trying to test drive vehicles, and then walked out for 20 minutes in the middle of our negotiation process with zero explanation for his absence. We were there for over 3 hours and walked out without a new vehicle. I was also told by Michael Linggadjaja via email before coming all the way to Van Nuys that the current damage on my car wouldn't need to be fixed before turning it in "as is"- but then was charged over $800 by the time I left even WITH lease/damage coverage that I've been paying extra for each month from Toyota. If you're looking to be swindled, hear different information from multiple team members on how a sale will pan out, be lied to about final costs, etc. this is your place! Awful, all around. The guy told us they don't markup their used cars but clearly they do because the price online was $6k less than what was shown. I told the guy we were ok and that we'd think about it. He made a stupid comment asking if our goal for the day was to just look at a car and hang out with a salesman. I didn't find it funny. He then started saying how the car probably won't be there next time we come by. He said he'd give us his business card anyways and then he went missing. It was a really weird interaction. First off, I want to thank Karen from internet sales, and Michael for trying to get me and my wife the vehicle we really wanted to purchase. Unfortunately, I left out a minor detail in what we wanted in a Highlander (middle captain seats). It was clearly my fault. We were close to getting the vehicle, but we wanted the vehicle that had the captain seats. So, after leaving the store, a man in a blue suit followed us and asked why we weren't buying a vehicle. I told him that they didn't carry the one I wanted. He became aggressive with my wife, and my wife fought back and said to leave us alone while we were having a private conversation. He yelled back, "well I hope you come back and by a vehicle here...F*ing A$$hole!" I had more respect and just kept walking to my car. Me and my wife drove down the street to grab something to eat. My name is Ken and I had the worst experience today at Keyes Toyota. You reminded me of how dealerships used to be, interested only in bait and switch. After speaking to a sales person Mike on the phone and being told that there was only one vehicle left I immediately rushed over to the dealership. Upon arriving I was neither greeted by anybody nor did anyone bother to bring Mike despite my asking for him 4 times. I was told to sit down and that Mike would be available in two minutes first, then (after 20 minutes) by someone chewing a sandwich told that Mike would be coming in another five minutes. Even your supervisor Maurice cut me off in the middle of my sentence as I was trying to explain how I've been called to the dealership and said "oh Michael be here in two minutes". I guess two minutes it's part of your employees manual. To cut the long story short I ended up waiting for a sales person who had called me to the dealership (Mike) without being helped by anyone else and sat there for ONE-AND-A-HALF hours. Horrible Sales Manager, not competitive pricing. I went there because my car was dying fast and before I went there I checked several online options and other dealers so I'd not pay more than I had to. Met by a nice sales guy, Mehrad, who did not have the authority to offer any discounts off the window sticker price. He quickly passed me on to his Manager, Bani, who was definitely not a nice guy, he is a high pressure get in your face type. Bani became outraged when I said his price was high and demanded I share my notes from other dealers with him. I refused and told him I wasn't there to haggle, I just wanted his best price so I could compare it with others I had received. Realistically several other prices were from online and surely he must know they beat the price he gave me. He kept pointing to things like the sticker price and saying, "when you go to the grocery store do you ask them to lower the price?" Bani finally started demanding I buy now and I was intimidated by the way he was getting in my face and shoving his finger my way, so hastily retreated and got out of there. He called me on the phone a few hours later on, I was a few miles away buying the car from a sales person with a smile who told us about a factory incentive that helped lower the price far below the prices at Keys. While I was buying the car, Bani offered to drop his price by $100 which still made his price WAY higher than the price I paid. He was such a #$%@###&* I'd not have wanted to buy it from him even if he did offer me a great deal. Where I bought it they also had great financing options, service and warranty options, and even a dealer installed anti theft system I liked. I never want to go back there thanks to Bani, and I hope I never meet him on the street. My recommendation if you do go there, take someone big with you. read more

A car that was under warranty and they flat out told me was my fault because of my freaking dash am which was behind two fuses. Initially telling me one of the CPUs was under warranty which they never honored. Even Toyota called them to ask why I was treaded this harsh after complaints. Well Toyota no more and Lexus as well.
