We ordered chicken pad Thai and yellow curry. They charge extra for white rice to go along with curry which is pretty lame. The curry and pad Thai were both so overly sweet I couldn't taste any other flavor. The curry was super watery and not creamy. I asked to add broccoli to the curry and the broccoli was not fresh looking or tasting. I called to ask why the broccoli was a brown color and the front desk lady said "it's not spoiled, it came like that". I asked her again why is it brown though and she hung up on me. Overall, VERY disappointing. If I could give 0 stars I would. I do not recommend coming here. read more

Thai is my favorite cuisine and I have sampled countless restaurants. With that said I chose Suda based on great reviews but half expected it would simply be average as so many others and I was happily proven wrong. Starting with Thai tea and Stuffed Chicken wings was perfect. The size of their teas are stein sized and delicious...couple that with amazing stuffed chicken wings with just enough meat to eat them like lollipops and they were amazing. In my experience Pad Thai, Pineapple fried rice and peanut sauce are gauges for exceptional Thai so these were main staples to assess Suda. Intrigued by a new dish for me I was lured into the mango shrimp. In all cases I was not disappointed. The mango shrimp were delicious but even better than that was their Panang Curry sauce. It was absolutely amazing. I joked that I would like a gallon to go and the adorable waitress thought I was serious for just a moment. Actually, I was serious. It was amazing as was every other dish. The Pad Thai was a tad sweeter than I am accustomed to but I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. And finish off the meal with exceptional, attentive and absolutely respectful customer service at every step and you could not ask for more. My only disappointment... They are 4 hours away from my home. If you finish your meal and are dissatisfied its a safe bet that nothing on this green earth will satisfy your tastes. read more

My husband and I would drive from Roseville area to West Sacramento because that is where our favorite Thai Restaurants were (that is until we tried Khun Suda). The owner (I believe she is) and her daughter (who I believe does a majority of the cooking) are wonderful people. From the moment you walk in the door you are treated like extended family and after dining there just once, they will not forget your face. That extra personal touch just blows me away as it is so hard to find nowadays. The food is extraordinary. We have tried all of the "usuals", like the different curry dishes, pad thai, soups, garlic/pepper chicken and we are yet to be disappointed *knock on wood* At the very least, give this place a try and see for yourself. My review is based on my first visit. It's conveniently located in a strip mall off hwy 80. Came here based on yelp reviews and was meeting up with a friend that lives in Roseville. My experience was good overall. I was most impressed with the owner- Khun Suda. She welcomed us with a big, friendly smile. Sweet lady! It's why I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 3. The service was good! The food- I ordered the red peanut curry with chicken and got a side of rice. My friend's order was a basil prawn dish. We shared the fried banana and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I thought there wasn't enough chicken in my curry and the pieces were small. The taste was good though. I also tried my friend's food and liked hers better, maybe it was the basil but it had lots more flavor and lots of prawns. The dessert is my favorite Thai dessert and have ordered it almost every time I go to a Thai restaurant so this one was just okay for me. The best part was the presentation- there was a smiley face on the scoop of ice cream. The owner suggested next time we try the fried ice cream- I will have to do that. read more

We ordered a lot of food for only 3 people. Here is the list: Stuffed Chicken Wings: I like chicken wings already, and to have them be stuffed.. Oohh man. YUM! My favorite local Thai place because it's also one of the best! There's another Thai place very close by but having been to both I will always choose this one. Make sure to get a Thai Iced Tea with your favorite dish especially if it's a spicy one! My favorite is yellow curry with chicken but I've had a few of their other curries as well which is why I keep going back. The workers are also very nice and accommodating. It's a tiny little place that can be easy to miss. It's behind the Togo's and See's Candies. Update: Today they were really busy during lunch so the service wasn't as good. To make up for it they sent my girlfriend and I home with an additional serving of Red Curry. I love eating here. read more

I can't believe the good reviews for this restaurant. They must be paying people off or giving them coupons for favorable Yelps. Don't believe what you are reading, folks. The food is bad...really bad, and expensive. I had the Pad Thai and it was drowning is sweetness even after I used the lime, which I found offensive. What are they masking with sugar? To top it off, they tried to overcharge me. I had to point out the error to them twice. We also ordered green curry, which was also horrible. The sauce was bland and the veggies were rubbery. I could have made a better curry with canned ingredients. At least we did not complain, which apparently triggers a 911 call. Wow! Go to the next yelp page and read for yourself. They actually admitted that this is a pattern and they have called 911 on people - as in more than one occurrence. The proprietor was the server.. kind and attentive with an obvious rapport with her regulars. For lunch, I opted for the red peanut curry. The lunch special ($7.45) came with soup, jasmine rice, and shredded salad. The vegetarian option is the same price as if it would have been with chicken or beef.. I ordered 2 12oz Singha beers and Spicy Catfish. The Fish was salty as hell and not one piece of pepper. They should have called it Salty Catfish not Spicy fish. They charge me almost $9 each for the beers. I know time is hard and we're going through inflation but no freaking way the Singha is $9 for a little bottle. It was my mistake for assuming the beers price wont go over $6. Never ever come back again even if free. Customer service suck too. Never asked me how's the food because she knew it ain't any good. Khun Suda used to be one of our favorite places to eat for Thai food. Not sure if it's under new management and a new chef but the last 2 orders we had, other than being pricier, have been really unsatisfactory. The Fried Rice was swimming in oil with a couple of chunks of white steamed rice which were not quite mixed in. It was supposed to come with peas and carrots but - 2 or 3 peas, and same with the carrots. Eggplant with Tilapia had 4 very small pieces of eggplant, which they made up for with lots of sliced onions, and the Tilapia was not sauteed but battered and fried, also very oily. It had a shiny glistening quality of a chicken gravy that was very off putting for me. I've had many curries before, but usually they are a creamy texture made with coconut milk, this was different. I'll keep this short & sweet. Staff was very very nice, and welcoming. I arrived, after placing my order to pick-up, at 7:00pm. I was the only one in the restaurant. We ordered: *Wrapped Prawns (appetizer): cooked perfectly. A lot of times, at other Thai places, they get over cooked and chewy. *Fried Rice: pretty good. Husband said he likes pineapple fried rice more, but I enjoyed it. We may not order this particular dish again. *Green Curry Veggies: best curry I've had in a very long time! I really disliked how they don't include rice with the curry dishes. I've never ever been to any Thai restaurant that didn't include jasmine rice with the curry. Very strange to me.. Our family went there for dinner the sign saiid they closed at 9pm we arrived at 730pm. Food was decent but have had better the service was awful! We felt ran out and ended up getting most of our food to go. One of the servers had either a friend or relative by us drinking a beer and on her phone with some boy the entire time. We were so disappointed. Our sour soup was sweet, the laap (larb) was flavorless and dry. We were hoping for more authentic Thai and were let down. If you want more authentic Thai, you may want to try a different place. I gave it two stars for the lack of flavor in all dishes ordered and because our soup was sweet and not sour. We were able to add some fish sauce, tamarin powder, ginger, lime, roasted rice powder, basil, cilantro, and shallot to make our dinner more palatable. Did I mention I did not want to cook? OMG, did we ever enjoy our heavenly feast yesterday evening! Mango spring rolls, fried calamari, eggplant stir fry w/ seafood combo, garlic catfish, green AND red curries, both with chicken, broccoli stir fry with calamari, and pad thai with chicken. The only and I do mean the ONLY thing that I would change was: Ordering fried calamari probably wasn't our best idea for TAKE-OUT, only because by the time it got home it was not crispy any longer (naturally, with the steam from all of the hot food). We will save that dish for dine-in only, in the future. Everything was delicious. We had a couple of modifications in our order, and the last thing I wanted to do was to double-check the order, so I didn't. I've been here a couple of times now. Everything has always consistently good. From any one of their curries that they serve, to the drunken noodles and the everything appetizer plate. The only thing that I don't like is the "fried tofu" that comes with the appetizer sampler and on top of the thai salad. Maybe they're ok when you're eating in house, but in a hot togo box, they get kinda rubbery by the time you get home. The other thing that I have learned is when you call in an order for pick up, and they say 15 minutes, you really have more like 30. The food is never ready by the time I stroll in the door. However, if you are standing there waiting, you can sip the yummy thai iced tea or coffee that they serve. That will get you in a better mood. My latest discovery? The pumpkin curry with chicken over their jasmine rice. WOW. Too good to save some for lunch the next day. I ate it like I had never seen food before in my life. Every dish is absolutely tantalizing; It's difficult to choose a favorite, because they're all so amazing, but I'd highly recommend the Basil Plate (my go-to), Green Curry, Spicy Eggplant, Drunken Noodles, and Fried Banana topped with Coconut ice cream (they use the local, famed Gunther's).
