I highly recommend making a reservation if you're planning on having dinner here. The restaurant is not that big and it tends to get crowded. Our party of 4 waited 30 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated, they took our order and our meal came out quickly! They provide disposable bibs and gloves! The food was so delicious and tasted fresh. I appreciate their sink in the restaurant since seafood boils can be messy and oily on your hands. One drawback is the parking lot. Hands down best seafood boil on the island. I've been coming to Kickin' since high school (over 10 years now) & after trying many of the other seafood boil options on island, this one is the best by a landslide. Their kickin sauce is phenomenal & is something that other seafood boils can't seem to beat, in my opinion. It's spicy, garlicky, and has that umami that you want while eating. Service wise, it can get pretty crowded so I would recommend going at lunch time for their lunch special or during early dinner hours. The restaurant itself is pretty big & well decorated. Very covid safe, they check temperatures at the door and use gloves. The service was friendly and quick, which we surprising due to the size of the establishment versus the amount of people waiting to get in. The food came fast as well! And the flavor was verrrrry reminiscent of the mainland coastal taste I'm used to in Virginia Beach! Fresh and hot! The ONLY things I can wasn't particularly happy about was 1. The parking situation. Very limited and you have to pay if you park longer than an hour. & 2. They have no bathroom. I made a reservation on Monday evening for a table of 6 and was advised of 18% service charge, I said that's fine I always tip 20%, to which I was advised not that's not the tip that's the service charge, so I asked what the extra service involved - with no reply. We still went as our visitors were wanting to experience it. This is how the service went. Sai our server (nice guy) had to be reminded we were there several times and all meals came out 10 mins apart (most of it luke warm) with the last persons meal arriving after the other 5 had finished. (This was after asking 4 times where was the food) he said the kitchen serves as the food is cooked. Well why was it luke warm? We had thought our service delays would have warranted a manager, but no-one was around. Needless to say the bill arrived with the said 18% service charge, I felt bad for Sai and gave him 10% as it seems it was the kitchens' fault not his. All up I paid 28% service charge on a $200 bill...yes that's right a $56 for a COLD CRAPPY MEAL. This is just so wrong on so many levels, Kickin Kajun you were AMAZING at your old location. Not my favorite seafood boil however not the worst. There are many reviews saying that the boil was flavorless. However, we thought otherwise! The most popular sauce which was the cajun had lots of flavor and garlic to it. We ordered the medium boil and it had the perfect amount of kick to it. This place is more pricey than many of the other seafood boil options that I have tried. They price their shrimp and crawfish at about $18 a pound. The shrimps are pretty tiny and easy to peel which I liked but the crawfish was not that fresh or worth it because of the price. They also have really great combo options which I think are actually worth the price because it comes with corn, sausage, potatoes, 2 rice, and about 2.5 pounds of seafood for only $45. I was excited to hear about the new Mini Combo for takeout. It comes with 1/2 lb of snow crab legs, shrimp, mussels, clams, 2 sausage slices, corn, rice and a potato for $29. I called in my order and 10 minutes later it was ready for me when I arrived. It came double bagged but neither one was closed so be careful in transport or close one before driving home. The rice came in a separate container. Everything was cooked well and most importantly not overcooked. The crab legs weren't dry or too salty, just right with good sweetness to the meat. Mussels and clams were as you'd expect them to be and not rubbery. Sausage had a good hint of heat. The shrimp are cooked shell on and not deveined. That was my only complaint as at this size of shrimp you can taste the grit and um...contents of the digestive track. I know it's a personal preference, but I spent time taking off the shells and deveined them which took me out of chowing down mode. Oh I know, first world problem boo boo! The corn was a bit overcooked as the kernels were on the mushy side. I thoroughly enjoyed the seafood fest and I hope they put this on the menu even after things go back to normal. read more

About another 15 minutes just to get our drinks after the order. One drink was incorrect, and we asked for table water and didn't get it. Once food came, we started eating and didn't get a check in for about 30 minutes. We finished and then they asked if everything was okay, which felt a bit late to ask. Every restaurant really should have this set up. We ordered plenty of fried food and our waitress was very nice albeit forgot a few things but that's ok she was awesome in fixing anything that was forgotten or needed fixing. The negative two stars come from the sauce of the combo. We ordered a medium spicy. The sauce was super bland and there was any barely sauce. We asked for extra because as you can obviously see in the picture the seafood was naked. If that was their medium we should of gone spicy. I don't even feel like they put any spices into the sauce because it was so mild. This place is at a busy spot. It is difficult to find parking. If there's nothing available you need to find street parking. The food was great! But you can never go wrong with seafood! Their sauce is really good. If you're a person that doesn't like spicy, the mild sauce might be a bit spicy. I would get the mild in any type of sauce you desire and get a spicy sauon the side. Service was also very good. There's a sink close by to wash your hands which is awesome because you don't need to go to the bathroom to wash your hands. After looking over the menu, we ordered, and they were out of the king crab. So we ordered the snow crab leg combo, which is a pretty good amount for 2 people. Everything that we ordered all had great flavors. The snow crab combo has a sauce of your choice. We went with the Mix sauce...it's a mix between garlic butter and Louisiana style. They asked how hot or spicy; you want it. We asked for medium. The medium was so good besides the sweat dripping down from the back of my head lol...
