Ok, I have been to this place over a hundred times and they USED to be amazing. Their appetizers, like the avocado balls and volcano salad were to die for and now, they literally cut the size of the portions in half and I am not exaggerating. They should remove pictures from their menu because they look nothing like the food you're going to get. We never dine there anymore because the owner is a nasty cow who has zero concept of customer service, the place is rundown and dirty. We gave it ONE last try for carry out and I ordered sushimi deluxe. The tuna was ROTTEN!!! It literally was discolored and smelled spoiled. I threw the whole dish out. I an never going there or ordering from there again. Honestly such a huge disappointment because I used to to really like this place. I try to eat here once a week. The lunch special is perfect for a cheap sushi fix and the assortment of rolls they offer for it is awesome. That's just the tip of the iceberg though. Once a month my girlfriend and I eat at the restaraunt and we are never disappointed. The wait staff is always on points with refills on our green tea and sake on top of being extremely friendly. The atmosphere is nice, they have a nice stone wall with trickling water for white noise and exposed wooden beams that give an old world feel to it. My only complaint is that they constantly cycle one Destiny's Child album everytime I am there. The food is superb, always very fresh and presented in a standard yet still visually appealing manner. The special rolls are excellent (I like the A & L roll) and the sushi/sashimi cuts are perfectly thick and succulent. This tiny restaurant is the hidden gem. It fits a little over 20 guests. The place is very clean and simple. It satisfied my sushi cravings! I went here with about 15 of my friends and we were served very well. They combined the little tables to form one long table for my party. They had no problem giving each of us separate bills. I ordered the lunch special; it included your choice of their miso soup or garden salad. For $6.5 I ordered 2 rolls (salmon avocado and sweet potato). Some of my friends ordered a deluxe and it looked beautiful. They got 20 pieces of eel, 10 pieces of white tuna and 10 pieces of spider roll. I would definitely come back here for sushi. I wanted to give this place a second chance, so here is what I ordered: 1 Lunch Special Roll - Any Three Rolls Lunch Special with Soup: Salmon Avocado Roll, Spicy Kani Roll, Eel Avocado Roll 1 Edamame 1 Crispy Spicy Salmon Wonton 1 Special Roll - Dynamite Roll The delivery guy was very nice, joking with me about the front door's super bright light. When I opened the bag, I immediately realized they forgot the soup. It's okay though because I rarely drink the miso soup anyway and it was a large order. I tried the Crispy Spicy Salmon Wonton first. The sauce and creamy avocado make the wonton taste very rich, which I enjoy. The wonton by itself takes some getting used to. The salmon in the middle is cooked and I think I like dipping the wonton best into the sauce more than the avocado. I barely taste the cream cheese but I can see it's there. I am in-between in ordering this again for delivery because the wonton seems dried out and is lukewarm, which is to be expected from some deliveries. It might be better in the restaurant. I tried 3 of the Dynamite Roll. The spicy salmon in the sushi didn't have the kick I was expecting but the various fish wrapped on top was good. The Spicy Kani roll also didn't have a kick (maybe my tolerance has risen) so it was pretty average. The Salmon Avocado Roll and Eel Avocado Roll was also fine. The favorite is still the edamame. Overall, I would order the sushi again, but I wouldn't call it the best I ever had. read more

There are definitely much better sushi spots on Staten Island than here, so I'd say go to Genki sushi or Misaki instead. I asked for brown rice on my rolls and it was hard and not fresh. I don't really know how you can mess up brown rice after all you are a sushi spot. Anyhow the ginger salad is nicely portioned with a larger size than most places. I've been to this place a couple of times and really enjoy the food, the only complaint I have is that the waitresses tend to be rude, especially this last time I went...all I asked for was some spicy mayo...geez...the girl looked like I offended her. The sushi here is fresh, tasty, and cheap! Each regular roll with six pieces runs 2.50-3.50, and we always order a few to go when we're in need of a quick sushi fix. We've tried just about their entire regular sushi selection, and some of our favorites are the eel cucumber, sweet potato tempura, and spicy yellowtail (although I love all of the spicy rolls, which incorporate yummy tempura bits). It's not a fancy restaurant, but the sushi here definitely hits the spot while sparing the wallet. We haven't yet dined in, but the ambience is quiet and the restaurant seemingly clean, pretty much your typical Japanese restaurant. There's parking in the front and in the rear. read more

Best sushi on the Island! Was coming here for years. Fish is always fresh. Great selection of various salads and rolls. I prefer sashimi and they have a number of rolls without rice! To cons I can refer the fact that since they got a free sake refill option the quality of sake dropped. Also the waters are generally slow and if the place is completely booked I'd recommend to walk away and come another time. But quality of food is exceptional! Place looks like a tiny little hole in the wall but once you go in and have the food you will be pleasantly surprised. Everything is always fresh and food comes out fast. A dear friend came to this restaurant with her service dog. After being denied entry, Kiku let her in, but only in exchange for extra charges. Not only is this egregious, it it illegal. Forget about the food. It doesn't matter if we cannot treat one another like human beings. I'll stay at home and give the money to a charity that trains service dogs. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. On a rainy day I went in with a party of three. We were seated and there were only two tables with people that were already served. It took the waitress ten minutes before approaching us so she can take our order. The place was fairly empty but there were several telephone orders that were being taken care of. Thirty minutes passed and our food was still not served. I then asked one of the waiter's if they had started our order yet and she said no and that it would take another ten minutes. Are they serious?! Customers that are in the store should be attended to before any phone orders!! I walked out with my party cause the wait was absolutely ridiculous! Been ordering from this place for a good 3 or 4 years. All of a sudden, they tell me that they won't deliver a $20 order for me because I am "too far away". Have never moved and always order to the same address. Even got food poisoning from then one time, but no, not once complained. This is the final straw. Never ordering from them again.
