From the initial meeting with Tom in…read moreSeptember 2021 to the install team on February 28, 2022, the final home visit for paperwork last week with Mike and all interactions with the office staff, every step in the process has been customer centric. I checked out five HVAC companies last year to replace the 30+ year old Amana furnace that came with the house purchase and to install new air conditioner. Able was the ONLY company that: Listened when I told them I wanted an 80% furnace for like replacement, HE not needed nor buying; Offered competitive pricing for equipment to be purchased; Did NOT require half down at time of order; Regularly provided order status updates as COVID supply chain impact kept delaying receipt of the equipment; Did NOT require payment until after City of Tigard inspection conducted two weeks after installation; and, Would accept a personal check in payment even though a cashiers check was acquired by me for payment to them. Without hesitation I encourage anyone and everyone to consider Able for your heating and air conditioning needs. IMHO they are without peer in their business.

    We hired Able for a furnace replacement this past winter. They were fairly quick in getting a…read morefurnace in and getting us on their schedule. I arranged my schedule to be here for them the entire install day. At the end of the day, when they couldn't get the unit to heat properly, they realized that they had actually installed the wrong furnace. So I arranged my day the next day so that they could come and remove the incorrect unit. It was another all-day job and they sent out an entirely different crew than was out here the day before. When we originally got a quote from them for the work, they charged a $200 service fee which they told us would be taken off of the invoice if we replaced the system. They, however, did not remove or credit the extra $200 when we bought the $8000 system. I called and left 4 messages with their accounting person, Roxanne. Not one call back. I spoke to the receptionist and asked her to have a manager call me. A manager did call several days later and told me he would take care of it and make sure they refunded us the difference. After several weeks of not receiving anything, I called him back and again, he said he would take care of it. I called to ask for another manager 2 more times after that over the course of several weeks. Nothing. Nobody would call me back, no check was sent. So after me taking 2 full days out for the install, them installing the wrong furnace, and then stiffing me on the $200 we were told we would get back, I cannot recommend Able. It's been 6 months of calls and messages and being ignored.

I…read morecalled Sky because the company name is on a sticker on my furnace when it was first installed. After the Sky technician had spent much time looking at my furnace , I was being pressured to buy also a new furnace in order to make sure the ac compressor and condense coils will be able to work properly. While my furnace has just been checked and tuned a year ago and was working great, I was not convinced by such pressurized cross-selling tactics of the Sky technician. It was a lot more than what I want to spend and thus no deal. The story did not end there. When winter came after that meeting with the Sky technician, my furnace seemed working inconsistently. It got on and off frequently and barely blowing out the warm air. Then this second winter begins and the furnace seemed dying with only the first 2 burners lit and not the last burner. I checked on Google and YouTube for the probably cause and discovered that the last burner was off alignment when the flame became unable to hopover and stays on to heat up the air flow. I learnt to fix it DIY in about 15 minutes. I suspect that the furnace was trying to repeat to me the recommendation to replace it by that Sky technician. Beginning with looking at paying a few thousands to add ac to an inflated kill all price quote of way over 10 grants, I am back to square one of not spending a penny on any cautionary tales of salesman. The evaluation service was below expectations and certainly bad sales quality of negative value. Zero trust. Too bad !

This time they were out to replace a sump pump. James communicated when he was coming, arrived on time, and did the job quickly. He was friendly and talked at my level. Definitely the kind of customer service you'd expect from Cornel's. Premium price, but premium customer service and quality people. You get what you pay for! I'm keeping them on speed dial.

The claim is in…read moresubrugation, but in the meantime, my home insurance has gone up $1000 a year and now other insurance companies will not consider me for home insurance. The one company that will will take me on will not write in a water sewer backup clause, and there is no way I would not have that coverage. Due to the bathtub faucet not being put back together correctly, I had flooding in my kitchen, bedroom closet and master bathroom. Because the tile could not be matched, the entire bathroom had to be redone. Not only did I have 6 months of disruption/construction in my house, I'm now going to pay more in insurance and I don't have the ability to change my insurance without high risk to me financially. I do not recommend this company. Nobody ever reached out to me after the damage, however they did call the Flood Pros without telling me that they had done so when I called in a panic on a Saturday night. The initial reason I called them was to fix an bathtub faucet that was dripping in the tub, and I ended up with a disaster.
