Chilaquiles (Divorciados - Green & Red Sauce)

To my surprise, this King Taco serves entrees, beer, and even flan! Seems to be a franchise location, as they do not participate in the rewards program. Regardless, this is my new favorite King Taco! They still serve the regular menu items you would find at any other location, but offer "Special Plates" like Pozole, Mole, and Chile Rellenos. I went with the Chilaquiles and they did not disappoint! The green sauce is the same as the one used for the wet burritos (also delicious), but the red sauce was definitely chef's kiss. Not spicy like the salsa used for their tacos/burritos/etc, but packed full of flavor. There's plenty of seating with 3 main sections, but I can foresee it getting filled during peak hours. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of their entree items.

    Sloppy buritto

The burrito is falling apart they half fast the burrito wasnt even rolled The whole meat inside my burrito fell into my plate

The menu with unique to this location items...

I've been a lifelong KT fan for many years. Anyone who knows me knows my first experience was at the KT in East LA on 3rd Street where my now father-in-law tested me on how I could handle the red sauce and tacos at KT (I was dating my wife at the time and he was old school OG and wanted to make sure I could hang). Needless to say I passed (along with other "tests" he gave me) and, over 14 years later, I am still a fan of KT. However, I've never been to this location in Maywood. And I regret never having come here until now! Just imagine a KT with draft beer... Now imagine one that sells wet burritos. Now imagine one that sells moles... That sells asada fries... That sells taquitos... That sells pozole... Well you get the pic. KT isn't known for more than their tacos, burritos, quesadillas, sopes and the weekend rotisserie chicken. But this KT isn't your typical. They serve everything I just mentioned... And beer! Who doesn't love himself/herself a spicy taco with a cold beer to wash it down? I love wet burritos, so for my first time here, I got an al pastor wet burrito with green sauce. It was more tangy than I had anticipated, but still good. Next time, it'll be the red sauce... Or maybe the mole... Or maybe the taquitos... Or... Dang it, I've got to come back again. I can't decide...

Look at the line an your still going to wait 30 plus minutes for your food

    Very aggressive worker
    Tesla H.

This worker wearing a yellow hat and shirt was staring at me aggressively just because I looked at him to ask a question. He came up to me very aggressively and asked me I needed something g . I showed him my receipt and he said oh okay and just went back to that station . I was waiting for my sope and they were taking forever and I just happened to lock eyes with him and he came up kind of angrily aggressively. I don't know about this place . He was mildly intimidating. I thought he was walking up to me to help because I was a customer and had been waiting for what seemed like a long time , but it didn't feel like that at all . It was more of a what are you looking at vibe . I don't know what I did wrong tbh . And all the employees were looking at me like their boss is having a bad day .

He just needed to lick the plate lol I had a chile relleno with white rice and pinto beans. I'm glad they didn't add cheese to my beans like other places. I hate it when they put jack cheese So just with that I give them a star. I had a cántarito and it was nice refreshing, not heavy on alcohol nor sour. They have great music playing and art thru out the restaurant. They also have a patio in the back for bigger parties. It's a cute open patio. Thank you Ashley for such great service, attentiveness professionalism. The owners were very sweet, polite and attentive. Great and humbled owners. The people who work there are so friendly and kind, and the food is amazing. I still remember the crema de chicharron soup that I had the first time we went, and the chile en nogada and enchiladas tres moles are so delicious--they're my family's favorites, but you really can't go wrong. It's so hard to describe what makes them so wonderful; you taste so many different ingredients and yet the flavors balance so perfectly. Whatever the soup of the day is, you should get it; they're all delicious, especially the crema de chile poblano. My wife and I don't live close by, so we can only make it out here every few months. But for years, it's been our place to come for date nights or special occasions--birthdays, anniversaries--and you only have to look around the restaurant to know that it's the same for many other families, too. It's a beautiful and welcoming place to come, with so much art and often live music; it just feels full of life on a busy dinner shift. During the pandemic, we were still coming here when nobody was eating indoors; we'd drive an hour to Bell, pick up our take-out, and eat in the car. And in the middle of all the grief and uncertainty of that time, it was still such a treat. More than a treat; something joyful and soulful in such a hard time. We went to La Casita last night for our anniversary, and we saw Chef Jaime chatting in the parking lot with a friend (who turned out to be an artist working on murals for the restaurant). We recognized him and said a quick hi, and we were going to keep walking, because we didn't expect that he'd know us. But he recognized us, even though it's been a while, and he was so warm and welcoming. He even called the restaurant to order us a glass of wine on the house for our anniversary. We were really touched. And, as always, we had a delicious dinner and fabulous time. If you've never been, I hope you give La Casita a try. We love it so much, and I think you will, too. P.S. Get the jamaica margarita.

For us, that's El Ranchito in Huntington Park. It's a family-owned, authentic Mexican restaurant that has had the community on its back for the last 6 decades. They hand-make the tortillas right in front of you, serve up fresh chunky guac, and make their iconic Mama Avila's soup fresh daily. It's rare that a soup has me hitting a stank face, but here we are. The Camarones al mojo de ajo is a can't miss appetizer. It's succulent shrimp sauteed in butter and fresh garlic, made to be eaten with the piping hot homemade tortillas. They have all the traditional Mexican dishes, my brothers go to is the chile relleno, but I always just run the fajitas. I'm sure I'll get clowned for this, but nothing heals my trauma and existential dread like a plate of sizzling fajitas. My pops has worked in the area for longer than I've been alive, so El Ranchito has seen every iteration of me, and of my family. For that, I am grateful. We walked in and it was a few minutes to get recognized by the hostess. Not a big deal but that bled over into the waitstaff. We were sat and ignored for quite a bit. We waited and we got chips and salsa and someone came for drink orders. The salsa was some of the best I've had. Drinks came back pretty fast but they were average. Something was off about them. We ordered the food and we got it fast! I was surprised how quick it came! It was good Mexican food. Not great but good. All in all, it was a good place for a sit down dinner with drinks.

My favorite appetizer are the Molletes which are toasted bolillos with chorizo and bean spread topped with cheese and pico de gallo. My favorite plates are the Carne en su Jugo, which is pork in green chilli sauce, and the Albondigas beef meatball soup. The soup is plentiful and doesn't disappoint in flavor. The meatballs are tender and have a perfect flavor profile of herbs and spice. Honestly, nothing disappoints here. The Pollo in Mole is also delicious. The tortillas are fresh and hand made. The Pollo con Rajas is creamy, cheesy, flavorful and the chicken has always been juicy underneath all that sauce, cooked perfectly. I've also had the teak tacos and they're filling, tasty, and a perfectly compliment to anything you will order. The sides are usually rice and beans and they've always been perfect. The rice is soft and the beans are addicting. Javier is always warm and friendly, he does an amazing job with his restaurant. He tends to his patrons wonderfully and deserves all praise, as well as his staff. They compliment the small dining area and make you feel like you're eating at home or with family.
