KIT Coffee in Newport beach offers a nice open area to study and to go grab a drink. Parking was not an issue as it was an open clean plaza. The customer service was okay as the cashier answered my questions about the matcha they offered but seemed uninterested compared to other cafes in the region. Food menu is limited and parking is a nightmare. Disappointing because the coffee is good but the experience was not it. There's also no coffee in the Ube latte. It's basically delicious Ube flavored foam and milk. They DO have WiFi, which is why there's no seating and no one moves all day so it is impossible to actually sit down there. As a Newport Beach local, I love popping over to KIT coffee when I want a treat on the weekend. Their signature drinks are flavorful and sweet, and the quality of their coffee and matcha is evident, even behind the flavors. I tried their food for the first time recently, and while $16 seemed steep for a breakfast burrito, it was so good and filling that I ate it for two meals. Definitely worth it! I haven't dined in, as it gets crowded and parking can be difficult. However, I find their online ordering and their regular service to be quick, friendly, and easy. My literal FAVORITE coffee spot in Orange County. The menu rotates seasonally, but they always have something yummy to try, and the baristas are super knowledgeable and can point you in the right direction based on previous things you've enjoyed. Any flavored drink froths the flavor into the milk they use so there's an evenly distributed amount of flavor throughout the drink versus just a sugar bomb at the bottom. Additionally, their food is delicious, with the breakfast burrito taking the cake for me. Kit's a great spot to come w your family, yap with your girlfriends, and occasionally have celebrity sighting! Only thing I will say is that it's probably not the best spot to study. Typically the tables are full/tight and the benches aren't all that comfortable if you're sitting for a while. The avocado toast was also really good, if you like a mix of sweet and savory, with a little kick from the chili flakes. The staff here were helpful and gave their favorites for the food! KIT! Wow, is it just me or does this remind you of the grade school yearbooks when people you don't talk to all year long asks to sign your yearbook and finish it with KIT - Keep in touch!? I have had this spot bookmarked for some time since I love coffee and I love latte art and this place comes highly recommended by the yelp community. I really wanted to try the espresso/coffee flights, but they no longer have that. So instead I had their seasonal Candied Pecan Caramel Latte ($7), which is served hot instead asked for otherwise. I also got a Smoked Avocado Toast ($10) with an added fried egg ($2). There is inside and outdoor seating but they were pretty busy. One thing that concerns me is that I see them removing dishes when folks leave their tables, but I don't see any wiping down or sanitizing at all. Good thing I have my own wet wipes to wipe down my own table. For the beverages they will call your name to come pick it up at the counter, and for the food ordered they give you a number to leave at the table. When they called my name, I went to get my drink and shortly after the food was ready. I concur with other reviews that they are really slow here. They look pretty decently staffed, so it might be because they are busy. The person who brought out my food somewhat slammed it on the table. The tomato popped off and I had to put it back on my toast for my photo. I really regret tipping them at check out when the service was minimal. So my Candied Pecan Caramel Latte contains espresso, whole milk unless you substitute, housemade caramel with maple and a hint of pecan. I really liked it but it just tasted like a caramel latte. I did not get the notes of maple or pecan. It was decent but let's just say I went to another coffee shop after this visit. As for my Smoked Avocado Toast with the added fried egg, the toast was really hard. It definitely requires knife and fork to eat this avocado toast because if you bite into it you might rip the inside of my mouth. The avocado is tasty but I prefer the slices over the mushy avocado concoction. I really like the bacon chips, it had nice smokey taste and texture for the avocado toast. I didn't taste any of the lemon zest or chives. The smoked paprika was nice. It definitely needed that fried egg add on to tie all the flavors together, but $2 was expensive for the egg. I would also like to say their utensil placement did not make sense. It was not by the area where I was picking up my drink. I had to go across to the different side of the coffee shop to grab utensils and then go to the coffee pick up area for napkins. I will probably keep in touch with this place as much as I do with my grade school friends... only if it's convenient and I am already in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

It's very pretty inside. I ordered the matcha horchata; let's just say I only taste matcha and it's not even slightly sweet (since horchata is sweet) there is a lot of decorative cinnamon in there, but $7 for this little number??? I really expected it to be good since I hear good things but I'm glad i didn't get this before school because it would have not helped me enough. She didn't even ask me what size I wanted, she was very nice, but i'm glad she chose this small cup because I wouldn't have wanted any more than this to drink. Not to mention the lid leaks. never have I ever written a review in my life. the experince I just had has left me speechless And I have no choice but to write this review. I was treated with such hostility and disrespect from the moment I walked through the doors. once I received my order which was avocado toast and the avocado was not even brown - it was and black. Never have I ever sent back food being in food service because I've worked in the restaurant industry and know what a pain that is. I sat in my car for 20 minutes debating if I should go back and get a new avocado toast made because I was so terrified of the baristas reaction. I finally worked up the courage to ask for a new avocado and profusely apologized for asking and for the inconvenienc. it was embarrassing how much I apologozed for the inconvenienc. not to mention the avocado toast wasn't even for me - it's for my mom who's extremely sick. The barista i had interacted with earlier rolled her and eyes and immediately stormed off. While I waited for the toast to be made the entire time she was giving me daggers and wanted to make me uncomfortable. After the interaction the manager apologized To me for her behavior without me even saying a word. The barista with brown bangs was absolutely so rude and distasteful I was left in tears and shaking. The lovely manager made me feel at ease and was aware of this employees problem. I'm Still writing this I'm shaking and in shock of the way I was treated for simply ordering coffee and wanting a non brown avocado toast. I always treat everyone with kindness regardless of how they treat me. This has left me so speechless and horrified I hope she never treats another human that way. I have never had a bad experience at KIT coffee and go every Friday to treat myself- however after this experience Im not sure if I feel comfortable any longer. My boyfriend ordered a nitro cold brew with cream and it was served with the cream curdled on top...He asked for a new one and it turned out fine, but in general tasted watered down.
