Had Sunday brunch here this morning. We definitely will be back next time we're in town. Our server, Miguel was friendly and attentive. Our table ordered the 86 Steak sandwich, the Club sandwich, a Scramble di Manzo, and I had Avocado toast. Everyone loved their meals. The avocado toast was delicious, but a little too spicy, so I probably would not order that again. Recommend!

Enjoyed a marguerita pizza and the Kalifornifation cocktail. Spouse had the chicken Caesar wrap which was fresh and delicious. We learned they have a daily happy hour.

I was happy they had several vegan options in a separate section on the menu labeled "Vegan". They also had my favorite wine, Rombauer by the glass. The Vegan pizza was really good! I had them add arugula.

Service was great, the staff is super friendly. It's a darker atmosphere with TV's to show sports games if you're trying to watch, this is a great place for that. There is a pretty large menu with lots of options, for adults and kids. They have mocktail menu for kids and sober friends.

Met a client and he recommended this place, the waiter told us the owner owned 39 dominos so clearly pizza was his thing. Waiter Highly recommend "Breakfast Pizza" and it's not what you would assume eggs on pizza crust, there was no eggs at all however it was excellent! What I also loved was the pizza isn't heavy it's thin so you don't walk away feeling bloated. Location was clean service was friendly no issues at all. I would 100% come back.

We had the pleasure of dining here last night, and it was truly an amazing experience. The establishment was quite busy, so I would highly recommend making a reservation. We were fortunate to secure a table by arriving early, and the hostess was exceptionally gracious. We chose to sit on the patio, which offered a delightful atmosphere and allowed us to appreciate the beauty of El Paso street. Our server, Michael, was outstanding. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and thoroughly explained the menu, going above and beyond, which is a rare and commendable quality these days. The food was simply amazing; everything from the appetizers to the lamb chop and the beet salad was excellent. The pizza was fantastic, the shrimp scampi was delicious, the salmon was perfectly prepared, and the chicken dish was also delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish, and our compliments go to the chef. This is undoubtedly an amazing restaurant, and they truly deserve a Michelin star or similar recognition. I highly, highly recommend it.

I was surprised how much I liked this place on El Paseo. The Boom Boom Shrimp is a must. My husband and I shared a salad and a pizza that as soon as it came to our table we dug right in (no pic taken). The Mexican Bee Sting cocktail was perfectly crafted. Really enjoyed this place!

Nice mural, this was the closest we got to food.

In the grand tapestry of dining experiences, there are those that delight the senses and those that leave you questioning your life choices. Unfortunately kitchen 86 landed in the latter category in an unexpected evening. We arrived to the hostess table and were promptly greeted with warm smiles which seemed to be a promise of great things to come as we were almost immediately seated at a cute cozy booth close to the dueling pianos (one of whom I was a friend of and excited to see perform that evening). The booth was clean and featured a cute candle flickering away beneath a giant pizza wall art! Little did we know that this was the best service (and only service) we would see that night. After perusing the menu, which boasted an array of tantalizing dishes from artisanal pizzas to gourmet pastas, we eagerly awaited our server to take our order. Minutes turned into what felt like an eternity while we watched as other tables around us were served with steaming plates of food, laughter, and clinking glasses, while we sat in our own bubble of neglect. The atmosphere, once inviting, began to feel like a cruel joke. Failed attempts at flagging down one of the MANY staff running around for SOME sort of service but to no avail. We had long since finished browsing the menu at length picking out appetizers, drinks, entrees, pizzas..... but still nothing. The night was carrying on but unfortunately the performance and feast of music was not enough to satisfy our hunger. So finally after over 30 minutes of sitting... waiting.... And trying our best to be patient we felt defeat. The once empty quiet table next to us had new guests who were seated and greeted by an eager and attentive server who began to take their drink and food order while we sat waiting still. At 34 mins we made the decision to give up and seek sustenance elsewhere leaving our cozy table... not that any of the staff noticed. In conclusion our experience at kitchen 86 was nothing short of an epic tragedy. I left with an empty stomach and a full heart of disappointment. If you're in the mood for a meal that never arrives, this may just be the place for you. Otherwise, I recommend seeking out an establishment and skipping this Kitchen "404" .

Nice place located on El Paseo. There's a nice outdoor seating area and some seats inside. There's a bar in the middle and some lower tables and booths with a big screen that was showing a football game. The lighting was pretty moody and there was a piano covered in the middle of the room so maybe they have live music sometimes? I came with my husband for their happy hour which is 12-5 Monday- Thursday and 3-5 on Friday- Sunday. We made it just in time and there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant. Service was okay. We got our food brought to us along with water and a carafe but other than that we weren't checked in on often. I didn't really mind though because we didn't need much and might've been out of the way tucked away from other parties. We ordered pizza and the steak. I was pretty disappointed in the portion size but maybe because it was from the happy hour menu it was a bit smaller. The steak was a good cut of meat but a little too sweet for my liking. The pizza was just pepperoni but the crust was actually really good. It tasted almost like garlic bread. There were other options on the happy hour menu that might've been worth it to try but I'm not sure I would come back here or would recommend others come. I wasn't blown away by anything but I did feel like the happy hour prices were pretty good.

Steak special was super tough and chewy. I highly doubt this was a prime NY sirloin cut. Cooked a nice medium rare though.

They never closed during the summer. They are open 7 days a week and have live entertainment every night.

I can't recall- it's been awhile-- and hubby ate it- he believed it had No sauce.. just seasoned very well

What are the happy hour times?

I don't but I know there are two reserved time blocks for happy hour with the second one that goes until 2 a.m.

For instance, a Cobb salad topped with fish can easily exceed $45; while the quality is high, that's a significant jump over nearby staples like Daily Grill. Our original seafood plan fell through (fully booked, of course, because that's how these things go), so we pivoted last minute. Expectations were...moderate. What we got? A full-on flavor win. First things first: the coconut shrimp. Order it. Don't discuss it. Just do it. Crispy, sweet, a little tropical magic--gone way too fast. Then came the blackened mahi mahi tacos...wow. The kind of "close your eyes mid-bite" good. And the crab cakes? I actually felt a little emotional taking that last bite. No shame. The real plot twist, though? The kids. Our notoriously picky eaters didn't just tolerate the food--they enjoyed it. Like, voluntarily ate it. Parents, you know how rare that is. The vibe struck that sweet spot too--dimly lit and relaxed, with a breezy island feel that somehow still worked for a family night out. I was half expecting to feel out of place with kids in tow, but it couldn't have been more welcoming. The staff was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience easy. So yeah, what started as a backup plan turned into one of those unexpectedly great nights. Safe to say we'll be back--this time on purpose.

Today's lunch with family and friends was especially frustrating, and everyone left unhappy. The kids' sliders were burnt on both ends, and the chicken was overcooked and even contained a long hair. We were served appetizers without any plates and had to get up and ask for them ourselves. We also ordered three appetizers, but only two arrived. When we asked about the missing appetizer, we were told it would come out later because the other family in our party had ordered it. That explanation made no sense. Appetizers should be served together regardless of which members of the party ordered them. To make matters worse, when we requested separate checks, we were told the restaurant could not accommodate that request. We have dined here many times in the past and have never had an issue receiving separate checks, so this was surprising and frustrating. The waiter just gave us the option to split the check evenly on two cards which is not helpful since one family spent far less than the other. Apparently the food could be separated by family, but the bill could not. Service throughout the meal was poor. We were never offered additional cocktails or soft drink refills until we had already finished eating. Dirty plates sat on the table for an extended period of time, attracting multiple flies and creating an unpleasant dining experience. It's disappointing because this restaurant was once one of our favorites, but after two consecutive poor experiences, we're finding it difficult to justify returning.

Took a long time to get it taken off the bill. We felt a bit pressured to order entrées. We were also told music (piano?) started at 6, but it didn't so we left.

We didn't have reservations and requested to be seated inside. There was a little awkward first impression with the hostess who told us that there was only one inside table left in the back corner. She didn't come across very friendly when we asked if we could see it before deciding if we wanted to sit there or not. I understand they were busy but she was a bit short with us. We were seated in Isabel's section and she more than made up for it. What a gem! She was so friendly and very nice. She made sure to check on us often and we had a lovely time at your restaurant because of her. We are giving this review 5 stars because of Isabel. The seared ahi tuna salad and the ahi tuna nachos were both delicious. The fish was fresh and so very tender with a light dressing. The pulled pork tacos were good too. The brownie dessert was a bit dry though.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel obligated to warn others…read more My fiancé ordered a Cobb salad, which should be one of the safest, most straightforward items on any menu. Instead, she bit into a sharp chicken bone hidden in the salad--something that absolutely should never happen. This wasn't a small, soft fragment either; it was sharp enough to cause immediate, severe pain and pierced her gums. This is not just a minor oversight--it's a major failure in basic food safety and kitchen preparation. There is no excuse for serving food in this condition, especially something as simple as a salad. We trusted this restaurant to provide a safe meal, and that trust was completely broken. What makes this even worse is that the situation could have been far more dangerous. If swallowed, this could have led to choking or internal injury. No customer should ever have to worry about that when ordering a salad. I strongly urge the restaurant to take a hard look at their food prep standards and quality control, because this is unacceptable. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
