This may not be a very fair review since this was a group event. Anyway, my Ladies group met up last night for a Hoedown event at Kitchen 86. Approx. 60 people. The menu was preset with choice of 1/2 chicken, ribs or Mac n Cheese. The Mac & Cheese was supposed to be a pork chop but somehow that changed which is fine. However, the Chicken choice was supposed to be a 1/2 chicken as listed on the menu. I ordered the ribs which were very good. However, my husband chose the 1/2 chicken entree. He only got a leg & a thigh on his plate! A salad was a starter, and however good, it was so tiny! Hardly a salad at all. In closing, dessert was equally tiny as far as portions went. It was carrot cake, maybe 2"X2" piece. My dessert portion was so tiny, the waitress actually gave me a 2nd dessert because she felt so bad, my piece was so tiny. And I never even asked! Tickets to the event were $75-$85 pp. So I would think portion on some of these dishes could have been much better. And don't say, 1/2 Chicken when a leg & thigh is all you plan to give. read more

I enjoyed eating here. The service was great. My son ordered their mac and cheese and it comes with this blow torched cheese. The server was nice enough to let us know when to start recording and now we have our son's reaction to blow torched cheese forever. My husband got the blackberry pizza and he liked it. I got the calamari and it was good. Only thing that's stopping me from giving 5 stars is the price of the food. I think it's expensive for the portion size but we enjoyed everything else. read more

This place was recommended to us for our next visit to PS. Well, we made it and soooo glad we did. Our server Gina was amazing! LOVE Gina! Cocktails we ordered Kalifornacation so yummy! Appetizers we ordered brussel sprouts and they were spectacular. Next we shared gluten free Blackbery pizza and the Soprano pizza. Both were delish!!! The gluten free crust was really good. We also had the Hobbs Chopped Salad which was a hit. Cant wait to come back and hoping to see on the menu a dessert pizza called Damn Gina that had gluten free crust and nutella and something else yummy on it but we cant remember cuz we just wanted stopped listening and wanted to order it. Popped in for a quick bite during happy hour and had a nice time. We sat on the patio and had drinks a couple of dishes. HH is an excellent deal with most items being $10 for good size portions. We got the fungi pizza, boom boom shrimp, pork tacos and a Ceasar salad. Everything was good and tasted fresh. They have a good beer and wine list and good prices. Service was good and attentive. We certainly had high hopes as the menu reads great and good reviews on Yelp. The service was great and there is a great vibe to the restaurant. The food doesn't live up to the hype. The street corn came as 1 corn on the cob on the "shareable menu", not sure how a table of 4 shares a single corn cob? We had a margarita pizza and for a wood fired pizza, there was no char, the dough was undercooked and the sauce lacked in flavor. This place is the BEST!! Great food, great service and fabulous entertainment!! (Dueling Pianos goes from 9:00 till Midnight on Fridays and Saturdays) They also have a very talented Singer/Pianist on Thursday and Sundays from 8:30 to 11:30. My favorite dish is the Chicken Piccata!! The best Pizza in town too!! The only place that's open late in the Desert. When everything else closes, this place is just getting started! read more

One of the best meals I've ever had, with impeccable service and a fantastic look and feel. The Scampi was perhaps the best shrimp dish of my life. I spent the whole meal analyzing every ingredient so I could try making it at home. The incredibly knowledgeable server was a huge help with the ingredient list. My wife had the chicken picatta, which was equally wonderful, and for an app we had the gluten free flatbread, which was delicious. How good was it? We went last. Ight and seriously considered going back for dinner tonight too! We were so close but thought it might seem goofy to come back so soon. We'll definitely come again though! read more

This is a restaurant that has pretty much any Manuel item that you can think of that will allow you to have a flavorful meal, that doesn't break the bank. We have visited here a few times whether it's Sunday football, late night outing with last stop with music., or just an enjoyable breakfast as we drive out from Palm Springs to Home. The boom boom shrimp. I'll say that again the boom boom shrimp are delicious not sweet not spicy perfectly well balanced. I have had the breakfast pizza, which is fantastic. The pizza crust is handmade and cooked in a wood fired oven and has a nice flavor to it. My wife seems to always get a salad, which are full flavorful and have a bounty of fresh vegetables. read more

I don't write many reviews but Kitchen 86 is an exception. Me and a colleague ended up here for a late night meal. Not wanting anything too heavy we settled for an assortment of apps. It turned into a tasting menu from hell. The ceviche was bland and dry, the brussel sprouts were smothered in so much balsamic it made my eyes wince and mouth pucker. The calamari tasted fishy and rewarmed (and omg the marinara tasted like canned tomato paste) . The only redeeming quality of the menu were our french fries, so there's that. The only thing this place got right was the service. The total of this experience came to $76 + tip. My advice to the owners - keep the employees, 86 the menu. read more

Gluten free or gluten intolerant folks watch out. The service was not great on the Friday night we went there. The decor was forgettable, and It took forever to get our food. I will say I liked my di Parma pizza and my son liked his pepperoni pizza. However - my husband is gluten free and he had a hard time finding something to eat. Their gluten free pizza is a cauliflower crust, not ideal. He specifically told the server he was gluten free. We ordered the gluten free cheese bread as an appetizer but we believe they brought us regular bread (with wheat) as my husband had a reaction shortly after. He also ordered the curry dish without the pita bread, but they put the pita on the plate. It also was just not a good dish, it had half a banana in it for some reason. He just gets very bloated so it wasn't anything serious. But still, no bueno since we were on vacation. We don't recommend since we have to do gluten free for my hubby, and will try somewhere else when we go back to Paseo. read more

First, the ambience was very nice/classy. My husband ordered steak which was very good. The lobster I ordered was also good. Everything went well until a couple guys at the bar decided to "pick up" the two women at the other end, which was near our table. The women were cackling so loud, and one of the guys was cursing loudly, and then proceeded to do a twerking dance for them. I commented to the waiter how disrespectful this was, and brings the place down to "sleazy bar status". But he didn't say anything... unfortunately, we will not be back here. read more

Great happy hour! We hit this place on a whim and the Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. First of all, the HH drinks, well spirits, were $5, and they were not light on the booze. The staff was really friendly and helpful and the payrons were interactive to the point that we stayed much longer than expected. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp, twice (it was so good we just had to have more). The atmosphere is friendly and casual while housing a really nice, upscale looking restaurant. We had a lot of fun, laughed, smiled, and drank. The rest of the menu was really nice so outside of HH it's worth a try. Lots of regulars, says something for ownership. The owner did stop by and say hi which was really nice. Made us feel even more welcome. Great lication, great food. Can't beat that. read more

Not sure what is up with all the haters? This place was great - service, ambiance, food, entertainment! We were here for New Years Eve dinner and the place was decked out. I had the steak and lobster special - steak was perfect. Halibut was perfectly cooked, Barachi shrimp was great, pasta perfect, salmon great - all dishes were super yummy. Desserts were amazing - I loved the bread pudding. It was a fun place to be - right in the heart of town on El Paseo drive. We definitely will be going back to this place. read more

Great restaurant EXCEPT The last two times I've been to Kitchen 86, they have allowed Dogs to sit inside and at the bar. Now, I'm not against dogs.. We.have four children and eight grandchildren and between us we have 8 or 9 dogs and cats but I resent restaurants that allow these Entitled Millennials to bring their pets into public eating places which could compromise public safety and the restaurant owners board of health permit. We wanted to do a bottom brunch and this place was great. We had an early reservation (9:45am) and no one was really there yet but it was honestly perfect for our group of 9. The bottomless mimosas are $15 and include juice. The bottles really do not stop coming. You are able to order breakfast or lunch at any time. I was going to get a lunch pizza, but our server recommended the breakfast pizza, saying it was the best thing on the menu, and he did not lie. I am usually not a fan of breakfast pizza as the egg is usually incorporated in a weird way. It was so good though, the egg was baked into the pizza, the crust was great and it was best breakfast pizza I've ever had. Our food did take a little while to come out, but we were happy just enjoying our bottomless mimosas. A great place for brunch. read more

Arrived on time for a 7pm rez for 2. Chose to wait 10-15 min for an outside table. 20 min of waiting & the newly opened outside table goes to a couple that showed up after us without a rez. I even talked to the hostess that had been helping us before she sat anyone at that table that wasn't us to try & save her from her mistake, but she still proceeded to seat the other couple. I had to hunt her down after & got a half hearted apology followed by an offer to wait another 5 minutes for an inside table... which we could've had when we first showed up. Lovely place for Sunday Brunch. Met up w/ friends, we got there early NO wait @ 10:45am although plenty of locals seated @ bar area enjoying cocktails. Atmosphere is cool, fun, hip while being family friendly as well. Food was delicious & nice portions. This place was one of the closest restaurants near our resort that was open late. Its located in an outdoor shopping area. The servers were great and attentive the mocktail was refreshing. The food I would have to give a 3. The pizza wasn't has flavorful as I thought it would be, the mozzarella looked great but it didn't have a flavor it just tasted like a cheese texture which was interesting. We also had a side of mash potatoes which was good and the elote starter was delicious! In all, I wouldn't get the pizza again. read more
