This place was one of the closest restaurants near our resort that was open late. Its located in an outdoor shopping area. The servers were great and attentive the mocktail was refreshing. The food I would have to give a 3. The pizza wasn't has flavorful as I thought it would be, the mozzarella looked great but it didn't have a flavor it just tasted like a cheese texture which was interesting. First, the ambience was very nice/classy. My husband ordered steak which was very good. The lobster I ordered was also good. Everything went well until a couple guys at the bar decided to "pick up" the two women at the other end, which was near our table. The women were cackling so loud, and one of the guys was cursing loudly, and then proceeded to do a twerking dance for them. I commented to the waiter how disrespectful this was, and brings the place down to "sleazy bar status". But he didn't say anything... unfortunately, we will not be back here. read more

Great restaurant EXCEPT The last two times I've been to Kitchen 86, they have allowed Dogs to sit inside and at the bar. Now, I'm not against dogs.. We.have four children and eight grandchildren and between us we have 8 or 9 dogs and cats but I resent restaurants that allow these Entitled Millennials to bring their pets into public eating places which could compromise public safety and the restaurant owners board of health permit. Nice patio with shade and misters on El Paseo in Palm Desert and a friendly waiter that told us it was happy hour when we arrived at 3:20. Such a great value and tasty too. Two cocktails, pizza, and boom boom shrimp for 36 dollars plus a tip. The hamburger going by look tasty too. Mom, puppy, and I will definitely be back . This restaurant is located in a nice street full of shops, restaurants and bars. The restaurant has outdoor sidewalk seating and spacious interior seating with neon blue decor.. We came for lunch and saw their menu had a variety of great items from brunch items to signature entrees. We tried their bottomless mimosas and had it with orange and pineapple juices. The waiter came often and our glasses where never empty. Great! The burger was tasty and flavorful although just a tad undercooked. (Rare). The appetizers were amazing and we loved our lunch dishes. I recommend their house shrimp. It's flash fried and very flavorful. Overall, this place was great and welcoming. The service was fast and friendly. It's perfect for some appetizers and drinks. Arrived on time for a 7pm rez for 2. Chose to wait 10-15 min for an outside table. 20 min of waiting & the newly opened outside table goes to a couple that showed up after us without a rez. I even talked to the hostess that had been helping us before she sat anyone at that table that wasn't us to try & save her from her mistake, but she still proceeded to seat the other couple. I had to hunt her down after & got a half hearted apology followed by an offer to wait another 5 minutes for an inside table... which we could've had when we first showed up. This was our second time to this place and they don't disappoint! I love that they offer a kids menu and outdoor seating. The kids menu isn't expansive, but suffices. There's also pizza and pasta that can be supplemented, if that doesn't work for a picky eater. Ask for crayons and a coloring sheet as well - they have them available for little guests. We didn't have reservations both times, but they were still able to accommodate us. Saturdays usually features a cover singer or DJ, which adds nice ambiance. I also love the blue light outside. Makes me feel like I'm at a lounge or someplace swanky. The food and service is always good. The servers are very knowledgeable about the menu, and always provide great recommendations. Great place for brunch! We sat outside and the patio coverings plus misters effectively combated the heat. Our server was friendly and happily provided a recommendation for the breakfast pizza, which my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the veggie scramble which was pretty good. I enjoyed their filet mignon, but the brussels sprouts could've used more flavor. The ambience at night is really good and it's a fun place to hang out and have drinks ! Though I'm not as pleased with their brunch, I know many people are so maybe don't take my opinion on that ;) It's right on El Paseo in the heart of the shopping area. I used to love Kitchen 86, making a regular in my Saturday Brunch rotation. However, today, after being closed the prior weekend, they stopped their bottomless mimosa offering and their best dish on the menu, BoomBoom Shrimp was a complete disaster. Not only did the reduce the amount of shrimp and accompanying greens, but the size of the shrimp was significantly smaller and the seasonings were awful. The whole dish was more than disappointing. After coming here for two years, I will not return and I wouldn't recommend it at all because they have significantly reduced the quality and significantly raised the price. read more

My first visit was July 14, 2025. Easy to find restaurant on the El Paseao in Palm Desert, California, there is street parking or you can park behind the building where parking is plentiful. The restaurant is the perfect size, not too big or too small, it's great, they have plenty of seating either at the bar or at a table / booth, and they will be expanding. Dinner prices are reasonable, I had the Penne Con Sarge Pasta and it was delicious, the cream sauce was smooth and light with exceptional flavor. Everyone at my table was very happy with delicious food and wonderful people working at the restaurant. What a great time to eat and enjoy the energy of this place. I will definitely return again and again! They have live music Thursday thru Sunday. Everyone I came in contact with was helpful, knowledgeable and personable. Shared a tasty lunch with hubby and 2 dear friends visiting from Washington State. We started with a tasty bomb bomb shrimp and then had the beet salad with salmon added, BLT sandwich, pizza with pepperoni and jalepeno and cappellini. Desert, coffee and drinks were also fabulous.
