There are a couple things to be aware of. Tonight I ordered five fish and potato salad. I had to go back because they forgot the tarter sauce. On my previous visit, I had to go back because they forgot the potato salad. So make sure to check your bag before you leave. Also be aware of some irrational pricing. The difference between the two fish combo and the three fish combo is two dollars, but the difference between the three fish and four fish combos is three dollars. The difference between the two and three shrimp combos is also two dollars, but the difference between the three and four shrimp combos is FOUR dollars. Came here only for one thing and it was to try their fish and chips on a stick. They have a 2 for $5 special or one for $2.99. When I arrived they only had one left. It was early afternoon and nearly closing time, so I really wished they had more because I would have definitely bought more. So I took the only one they had left and I would have bought more because it was amazing. I've been coming here since I was a kid. Back then, it was called H. Salt Esq. Fish & Chips. Kitty the owner said her family has owned it since 1965. She's the third generation, so she named it Kitty's Fish & Chips. It is still the same great place. I got the fish and chips along with the fried zuchinni and hush puppies. The fish wasn't oily. It was succulent with a nice, crisp batter. It comes with tartar sauce and malt vinegar. The fries are just the way I like them. I appreciate that they use thick-cut fries just like they do in England. So good! The hush puppies were seasoned perfectly. The fried zuchinni was prepared well. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. I will be coming regularly. Right now, they are only doing takeout, no dine-in. It is cash only. Everything is no contact. This mom and pop hole in the wall has the best fried fish in the 626. First of all, the batter on all the food is very light and crispy. Nothing is too oily either; there weren't even grease marks on my empty plate! This is a family owned restaurant, as the cashier consulted his father, the chef, when I asked about the menu. I ordered their scallop combo which came with 3 pieces of shrimp, 2 scallops, and 1 piece of fish and chips. The batter was not too thick like some other fish and chips restaurants and all of the items I ordered were very good. My sister ordered their 3 piece fish and chips combo but said she thought it was a little bland. I used to visit the H Salt fish and chips place in Pasadena on Rosemead and was looking for another place closer to where I live and found that this is a good replacement. Their food is good and the wait was not very long, but I came during the week for lunch so another day of the week or time might be different.
