We called a first expert, who told us there was an issue with our Carrier system, and since he's not familiar with this particular thermostat, he couldn't help us. We then called Honorable Air. We called and described the issue, letting the recipient know we needed someone familiar with Carrier systems, and gave them the make/model of our system. They informed us that someone would come out and help us on Monday between 9-12 AM. Jeremy came and helped us out. It turned out to be a condenser pan filled with water. He helped us drain the water and troubleshoot the source, and it only cost us $230 for an hour if time and some minimal labor. Very satisfied with his help!

Photos show a bunch of people that work for the company, and not ONE can come out for a set appointment? I'm giving an freebie star because I know I'm also pissed about my phone and upcoming busy schedule. But this is why I PLAN things out and have backup plans.

I had troubleshot past the capacitor (good), and Big Wave recommended replacement of circuit card, fan, motor, and igniter. Why would all of those items break simultaneously, and parts would take 3 weeks to arrive. I called Shawn Labert and they weren't able to schedule me until the following week. Shawn called me back immediately and remarked that since I had already taken the trouble to check the capacitor, replacement of the control card should be well within my ability. He even suggested ordering one from Amazon which I had assumed was only available from an HVAC supplier. Finally, he even offered to be available to answer any technical questions I had. His encouragement was all I needed! I found a replacement card on Amazon sold by Rheem for $151. It arrived the following afternoon. That night I installed it within 30 minutes, and my blower roared to life! I literally saved $3,000 and 3 weeks of living in a hot house. In the future, I'll call Shawn Lambert if I need HVAC support.

I was informed that the diagnostic fee would be $89, which would be credited toward any necessary repairs or services. Devin came out to assess the situation. He discovered that a fuse was burned and replaced it. He also checked the AC capacitor and noted that it should be within 5% of 12.5 volts, but it was slightly lower, so he recommended replacing it. He quoted me $169 for the service and the capacitor. While checking the unit, he mentioned that another capacitor on the roof also needed to be replaced, quoting $285 for that part. Additionally, he clarified that the $169 service fee did not include the cost of the indoor capacitor, which would be an extra $165. I found this pricing quite unusual and expressed my concern, to which he replied that these parts are generally expensive. The total came to $589, but Devin said he provided a discount, bringing it down to $500. I asked him to leave the old capacitors for me to inspect. After doing some research online, I found that one capacitor was priced under $20 and the other slightly above that amount. I have included pictures for your reference. Essentially, the initial issue was a burnt fuse, and the two capacitors were replaced because they were old and potentially damaging to the unit in the future. However, the pricing for these parts feels dishonest. I had read many positive reviews about this company, particularly praising Shawn's honesty, so I am left feeling disappointed. It's disheartening to think that in our community, some may take advantage of others simply because they can. I believe we should treat each other with respect and integrity, especially when it comes to services we provide and receive. Unfortunately, my experience here has led me to feel that my trust was misplaced. I would not recommend this company; integrity is not something you can sell. AC unit is working all right as it did before.

I learned SO many things today about a/c units from him that I never knew!! He explained about the capacitor--been hearing that word for years but never knew it meant something sort of like a battery in the condenser unit (that big metal cube thing that sits in your backyard that powers all of the life-sustaining cold air in the house that keeps you from certain death during a heatwave...LOL!l), flushing the drain lines etc. Also learned how to do simple things like opening the drawer for the filter--DUH! I'm so lame, I'd been trying to open the big flat panel to put in a new filter for some time but gave up --then the other day I realized the drawer on the bottom was the thing with the filter, but because I'm arthritic, I didn't think I could pull it out. Alan made it real simple for me and showed me there's a latch on it that you squeeze and voila!--it just opens! For a year, I haven't been able to master that one simple trick--LOL!! Duane was incredibly thorough during his inspection and spent far more time than I expected answering my many questions. In contrast, several other HVAC companies sent sales representatives who spent only a few minutes walking through my home before emailing me a quote. Duane took the time to evaluate my home's needs, explain the pros and cons of different systems, and make sure I understood my options. What impressed me most was his honesty and integrity. Rather than simply selling me a more expensive system, he refused to recommend or install equipment that wasn't the right fit for my home--even though another company's advisor had suggested it and it would have resulted in a larger sale for him. After receiving quotes from numerous HVAC contractors, I found his pricing to be among the most competitive. What stood out even more was the value--he quoted a premium, high-end system for about the same price that several other companies were charging for entry-level equipment. It is obvious that customer service is a high priority for Connected Heating and Air Conditioning. We have had two homes with complete new installs by them and they continue to maintain/fix other homes like a few condo's we have with older systems. Bryce has been out a few times for repairs, arriving on-time and is always incredibly professional. They diagnose the issue immediately and explain the fix clearly. Their repair work was fast, clean, fair priced and highly efficient. Duane is pretty good with keeping on top of things and with communication. During my research on the new units, their prices will be fair or on the lower end of quotes. Our houses stay cool, and the entire experience is stress-free. Recently, I thought I might have a dead rat in my fireplace and was hoping for a same day appointment, but he wasn't available. I ended up calling another company, and they came out and immediately tried to upsell me on multiple expensive services. Something didn't feel right, so I decided to get a second opinion and called him back. When he came out, he did another fireplace sweep and also repaired cracks in both the exterior and interior of my fireplace. He took the time to carefully inspect everything and honestly told me those additional services the other company recommended were not necessary. I really appreciated his honesty and not trying to take advantage of the situation. His pricing is very fair, and his work is excellent. It's rare to find someone this honest, skilled, and trustworthy. I highly recommend him and will continue to use him in the future.

When our home was built in '76 it was equipped only with heat, no A/C. We bought it in '84 and subsequently had A/C installed in '90. We eventually became aware of two issues. 1. A/C requires larger ducting than does heat. 2. At least some of our ducting probably contained asbestos. Neither one of these situations was very good, so we finally decided to have our ducting replaced. I contacted two A/C companies to get quotes. I first called a local company with 35 years of experience and made an appointment for an inspection and estimate. I then immediately called Klondike, also just to make an appointment. I was transferred to Edward, who obviously knew what he was doing. He asked about the size of our home, the number of rooms, if the FAU was in a closet or the garage, and if it was a one story or two. He gave me a quote right over the phone, which included a lifetime warranty, high velocity registers, and enlarging the intake opening if necessary. Klondike would also pull all necessary permits. He said if I selected Klondike to do the job, he would come to our home to finalize his quote. A couple of days later the local company came out to inspect the job. The estimator looked throughout our house and went into the attic. He said the main duct coming out of the FAU was metal, which was good and would be retained. He also said they would increase the size of all of our ducts by one size, typically a 2" increase in diameter. An abatement subcontractor would come out first to remove the asbestos ducting, then his crew would install the new ducting the following day. This company would also pull all necessary permits. Within two days he had sent me a finalized quote via email. The quote was $700 lower than what Klondike had quoted over the phone. I then called Edward at Klondike and scheduled for him to come out and confirm his quote. The first thing he did was to check the size of our FAU and determined it was a 4-ton. He then noted that the main duct coming out of the FAU was only a 14", which was undersized for the FAU and also not up to code. He said they would replace it with an 18" duct. Edward then went into the attic and looked at our existing ducts. I then asked him if he wanted to go inside to look around. He told me that before he would go into the house I would need to agree to the contract. That sounded kind of pushy to me, but he explained that if he went inside he would be "engineering" the system, and he wasn't going to do that without a contract. After he and I discussed the differences between the two quotes, including that Klondike would clean the blower in our FAU, and how they would be installing a fully engineered system, I decided to go with Klondike. Edward then came into the house and I immediately understood what he meant about an "engineered" system. He drew a floor plan of our home and measured every room. After getting the square footage of each room he calculated the CFM (cubic feet per minute) required for the room then the appropriate duct size for the CFM. Then, if the room had vaulted ceilings he increased the duct to the next size larger. He drew a map of the system, determining the required size of the feeder ducts. It was very detailed. (By the way, our intake had been enlarged when the A/C was installed in '90, so it was OK as is.) He then called his abatement subcontractor and scheduled a date, then scheduled the installation with his crew. He estimated installation could be completed in one day. The abatement subcontractor arrived as scheduled and completed his work within three hours. The next morning Klondike's crew showed up on time at 8:00. Miguel and Travis were very polite, knowledgeable, and also hard workers. They unloaded all of the parts for the job and it filled our entire garage. Wow! And I didn't realize how large the 18" duct for the FAU was until I saw it. Huge! Anyway, since it was just the two of them installing this system (apparently it's typically a three person crew), it took almost two full days to complete the job. But that wasn't a problem for us. Miguel removed the blower unit from our FAU and thoroughly cleaned it. While doing so he discovered that the motor shaft had about a half an inch of endplay, which I could see was an issue waiting to happen. (I guess things can wear out after 25 years.) The motor wasn't currently causing any problems so I decided to have it replaced at a later date. When Miguel and Travis completed the system they tested it. I could immediately tell that we were now getting much more air through the system. I was thoroughly impressed and I know I made the correct decision in having Klondike replace our ducts. read more

It started out with a new furnace. Then, I was told my ductwork was wrapped with asbestos insulation. Although there was no sign of damages, We decided to replace the ductwork also. After talking to two other companies, we decided to take a chance with Klondike. It was "taking a chance", because we had never done this before and we had nothing to base on other then Andrew, the owner's presentation. One thing: I didn't feel any pressure from Andrew. Bottomline, we had no regret to let Klondike to do the work. Although we are no expert in this business, we feel our money was well spent. It was a different company to remove the existing ductwork. Since we were most concerned with asbestos dust in the air. I watched them closely to assure all precautions were followed to prevent spreading of asbestos dust. To be fair, I believe they did an adaquate job. At the end, I wonder it's justified to spend the money to replace the ductwork if it was not disturbed or damaged. But my wife was very happy that they are gone. I suppose that's the justification. read more

This is the second time I have used Klondike Air and I highly recommend them. They have showed up the same day within hours and always text first. Chris and Andrew were awesome helping me with my first repair and updating the duct work at a very reasonable price! My second visit was with Richard. Richard was very nice and extremely thorough taking his time looking at all possibilities to fix my 17 year old unit. He managed to fix me and educate me on what filters to use. Most companies would have said there was no way of fixing this. Richard was outstanding, but he did suggest they come every 6 months to inspect the air and heater due to the age. I joked I will start my savings account today for my new unit. He agreed that the time is coming after having it work well for 17 years. When I do need a new unit, Klondike would be the ONLY company I will call to install a new one. Fantastic! Can't say enough about Klondike Air. We own a 1950's home that needed a new HVAC system installed - soup to nuts - remove asbestos, design and install new ducts and vent, and make sure it all worked well and was thoroughly permitted. And.... we live out of state. Chris and Andrew were a dream to work with. I liked how easily reachable Chris was - text/call anytime and Andrew facetimed with me while walking through the house so we could talk through some challenges due to the home structure to figure out the right solution. Klondike Air was punctual, professional, and attentive through every step of the process. I don't typically do reviews, but we had an exceptional experience with Klondike this week. Talked with Chris on Sunday as our A/C unit stopped cooling the house and he got Andrew out on Monday. Got their name from a friend/neighbor who is very thorough on his research so I know that a referral from him is solid and that I really didn't have to do any research. Andrew quickly diagnosed the problem, put in a quick fix so we could continue to get cool air until he could get a new unit in on Thursday. We had a 21-year old Trane and didn't want to spend the $1200 to get it running as we would rather just get a new unit since that Trane had a good run. Just had it installed by their (Chris and Andrew are the owners) crew and all is great. They tested everything out and we are extremely pleased. They kept me updated on status and were very nice and professional. Save yourself the hassle of comparing bids and call them. As we were enjoying our air conditioner this very hot past weekend, it came to me that I really need to write a review for Klondike Air. Our unit broke last year and we put off the repairs for quite some time in fear of an astronomical repair bill. We did our due dilligence in researching companies to diagnose the problem and chose Klondike Air. This complany was absolutely fanstastic and very thorough. The problem ended up being a shorted electrical component, which was relatively minor, but the diagnostic spoke volumes to us that this company is in fact very honest. The technician was excellent and took the time to explain to us what he was doing and provided us with other service options without being a "salesman". We ended up getting their yearly service plan, which includes service on our heating unit as well, which we believe is a great value. Couldn't be happier and look forward to seeing them soon for our next service appointment. read more

Klondike Air is simply the best air conditioning company I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I used to do air-conditioning and refrigeration with another company as a profession. But even I, learned a great deal from Klondike air. Their professionals are extremely knowledgeable. They complete the tasks at hand quickly and they clean up after themselves so you don't have to. my annual furnace check-up was due so klondike sent derrick. he called to tell me he was on his way. very pleasant young man who put his 'booties' on before entering the house and walking on our oriental carpets. derrick went to work inspecting the furnace and checked that i had put the filter in the correct way. gave us a review of the furnace check-up. told me about using the fan during hot weather that helps blow out the hot air and also cooking odors. he asked if he could help me move or pick up anything heavy (i just had cataract surgery and we're seniors) told me to call him if i needed any type of lifting or work done in the house. showed me photos of his pug dog and little kitten. very likeable young man. if you need service, ask for derrick. allene l. read more

Working with Klondlike was a great experience. Chris on the phone is a very friendly guy and very easy to work with. He kept us updated during the busy summer period of when they can schedule the installation of a new condenser. All of their service guys, Richard, and both Anthonys, were also very nice guys and were always ontime, let us know they were on their way, and were very thorough. Though no fault of Klondlike, the condenser they brought was initially too big to go through our door. However, Klondlike quickly remedied the situation and brought out a slightly smaller, more efficient condenser for the same cost. There was very little disturbance at our home during the intstallation process. I highly recommend Klondlike for anyone's air conditioning's needs. read more

Saw the good reviews and called these guys when my condensor pan in the attic started leaking water thru my ceiling. The owner showed up on time and did the inspection, he recommended and quoted the repair, plus some other suggested repairs that would help my system perform better. I went with the needed repair for now, and got no argument, and he scheduled his people to come and do the repair 3 days later. They called ahead to let me know they were on the way, they showed up on time as promised, and completed the work quickly and even cleaned up after themselves. VERY IMPRESSED, HIGHLY RELIABLE. They do not offer the lowest price, but they do excellent work and seem very honest. I would call them again if I need AC work again. read more

Klondike Air installed my central heat & AC in 2009. I have an older home that used to have a floor furnace, so EVERYTHING including the ducting had to be installed. I've been extremely happy with them ever since. Most recently, Richard came out to do a Winter Service. As with all of the Klondike folks I've encountered so far, he knew exactly what to do, was really clean about it, explained everything clearly to me, and was in and out in about an hour. I would highly recommend Klondike Air. We had an entire new system installed both a new furnace and air conditioner. From beginning to end Chris and his crew were helpful ,professional and honest. This is my second review and it's for the routine semi-annual inspection. The first was just after the A/C install to our existing home heating system. Richard, who did the A/C install, was the service technician. He was thorough with a courteous customer service attitude. Even though the focus this trip was in the attic to ensure the heater is up to snuff, he took the time outside to show me how to keep the A/C compressor clean so it operates most efficiently. After a slew of bad experiences with a few local Air conditioning companies that will go unnamed, I contacted Klondike. They were courteous and came out the next day. Their technician named Chris was professional and knew exactly what he was doing. Within minutes he diagnosed the problem and installed a new part. After 30 years, my old furnace had seen it's last days. Called Klondike Air and they came out the next day for an estimate. They were very professional and the estimate was reasonable. Then when it was time for the install, they found that there was more ducting required to replace the old furnace that was no longer within code. The solved the problem and replaced the outdated ducting with no extra charge. Now all is up to code and I was extremely happy with their service. read more

Tom came to assess, said he could fix but seemed hesitant. Our house is old, we had an ugly old non working swamp cooler sitting on our roof w a big gaping hole in our hallway. We asked if he could work on the swamp cooler too which he said yes, but he actually suggested we consider upgrading to central heating and air. I laughed at that because I had a few quotes from others (central heating and air has been my dream since I bought this old freezing house). The quotes I received from a Costco partner was $50K! You read that right, $50,000. Another was $30k. As you can see w quotes like that my chuckle at Tom's suggestion of central heating and air was warranted. However, when I mentioned my previous quotes I think Tom might have laughed. He quoted us for the removal of the wall heater, swamp cooler, and a brand new central heating and air unit, not even 1/2 the price of one of the lowest quotes I'd received. We couldn't believe it. We jumped on it and his team got started a few days later. Watching them work together was literally a joy. Talk about team work! Always on time, clean and efficient, the job was done in a few days. I've lived in this house since 2009, and I no longer have to wear layers to bed. We're so happy with the service, the unit and even the cosmetic repairs on the roof where the ugly swamp cooler sat, and the hall where the wall heater was and the open rusted hole in the hall ceiling from the leaking swamp cooler shaft. Words cannot express my gratitude. It's the little things people take for granted as I never thought we would ever be able to afford central heating and air. Our plan was always to do some minor fixes so we could list our house for sale, but now I just think I want to stay here and love it a bit longer before we list it. Thank you Tom and team! Breakdown: $169 labor $10.50 parts PLUS $69 service fee Called and asked why there was a service fee on top of the $169 labor charge. Normally, a service fee would be included in the labor charge BUT not here. Its a separate additional fee... just because. To add salt to the wound, called them back out because the toilet was still running after their visit. Received ANOTHER bill for $69 and called and asked why. Their response was that the water running wasn't due to the flapper but because of pulling the chain too hard when flushing. BUT, they spoke with their manager and waived the $169 labor charge that they were going to charge in addition to the $69 service fee for the 2nd visit. For real??? Save yourself the rollercoaster ride of price gouging and find a more reputable plumber with more than 2 stars here on Yelp! (should've checked before, ugh!!!)

Plus he was referred by the filter company and he said he had done 10-20 WHF installs over the past years. I didn't have any expectations regarding the quality of the work, but he certainly would have surpassed them. Every joint was sealed, every pipe secured, and the tanks were 'mounted' against the wall. He had to dig up the main water line into my house which was seamless, and without any input from me he installed bypass valves in case we needed to bypass the filter loop. He and Betty were easy to work with, he provided an on-site quote within about 24 hours of contacting Betty and he showed up exactly on time and on the scheduled date. Doug has a bit of a dry and matter-of-fact personality so don't expect a warm fuzzy welcome which is fine. He was professional and his work was top-notch which is the only important point.
