The bibimbap has fresh ingredients, easily customizable. The ttoekbokki is great, not drowning in sauce like another place I tried. The japchae tasted great and does not finish with a plate full of oil, also at another place. The hotdogs are not listed on the online menu but are available. My wife ordered a bibimbop and there was no meat. It was just rice, shredded carrots, and a side of kimchi, pickled cucumber and sauce.

We were in the area and popped in for a quick lunch. I had the combo corn dog (delicious, crunchy and filling) and my husband had the four wing dinner. Everything was pipping hot and delivered to our table pretty fast. The chicken was a little sweet and crispy server with fried dumplings rice and a fried egg. The dumplings were tasty. My brother was with me (we're both foodies that LOVE good food) & shared everything. Kogi did NOT disappoint. Altho busy (30 min wait) well worth the wait. Pork was cooked to perfection that sat atop of rice & some veggies melded together that had my brother & I craving for more! The pork was so tender that it melted in your mouth. We also had the sparkling mango lemonade. My only regret was not ordering TWO spicy pork kogi bowls~ which means another trip in the near future! Not a big place~ few tables so highly recommend snagging any available table while waiting after ordering. Ambiance casual but clean; self order at counter but food is brought to table if eating in. I always look through the menu and pictures to see what i want to order ahead of time. They have happy hour from 3-5pm on the bibimbap. I was there at 2:30 and asked if they can give me the happy hour price. She can't. Oh well.. After I ordered my takeout , the girl said there's a 10-12 minutes wait for the korean fried chicken wings. I thought the korean garlic soy chicken wings tasted good. Very crispy and meat was juicy. The flavor was nice. I ordered two of the "3 tacos for $7.99". I had the beef bulgogi and 2 spicy pork. When I got home, the soft taco shells ripped when I held it. Luckily, I had the crunchy taco shells at home. I had to add more spicy korean to the tacos. It didn't have enough veggies . Flavors were pretty plain to me. My 1st review of 2018 goes to...KOGII KOGII! Yay! One of my favorite Korean dishes is Bibimbap and if I have the appetite for it, you can count on me getting that in a stone pot with lots of MEAT and all kinds of colorful toppings. WITH AN EGG. Can't forget that. AND IT'S NOT just for a picture, but also because I like a variety of veggies to go along with it.... Every time I've been to Chicago, I make my SO take me here. I can't get enough of this place! Also, we seem to have great timing when dining in because it's always empty when we arrive. But about 15-30mins into us eating, there's ALWAYS A LINE forming. My SO says there's usually only 1 lady working, the owner so be prepared to wait for your food if it does get busy. I always get the bulkogii (marinated ribeye) with white rice, a fried egg and stone pot. Kogii Kogii spells it like that, which I assume is a nice play on their name bul-"kogii". They have a HUGE selection of veggies to choose from the bar. I usually get like cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, bean sprouts, spinach, corn, broccoli, kim chee, and whatever else I like to fill up my bowl. I remember the last time I came here I overloaded my bibimbap with too much veggies and couldn't finish the rice. I was super disappointed in myself because I really hate wasting food. Now I know to take it easy on the veggies. The bulkogii is delicious when you mix it in with all the veggies and rice. I admit the lady should cook eggs a little better, because mines wasn't over easy - but it's all good. If you do get the stone bowl like me, be careful cause its SUPA HOT. I always seem to burn my fingers on it. If you have a big appetite, I highly recommend getting the fried chicken. Kogii Kogii makes the best Korean fried chicken I have ever tasted. EVER. Their garlic soy flavor is the bomb. I don't know how they make it so crispy...IT'S MAGIC. I could just eat a dozen of these legs/wings and be good for a meal. Super tender, juicy, and tasty. They put BWW & Wingstop TO SHAME! Secretly planning my next trip so I can order those kimchee fries that I never got to try.....and more of that fried chicken mmmm. read more

I absolutely love Korean food and this is exactly what I wanted. They had tteokbokki with beef or in ramen and it's delicious (add mozz cheese at home and melt it!). The spicy pork tacos are also delicious as were the fried dumplings. We also got the boneless Korean fried chicken (wow). Absolutely 10/10 for when I get a Korean food craving. Note - There's signs that say the Korean Tacos are part of the Happy Hour deals, but learned today that is no longer the case. But definitely stop in for the awesome deals on the wings and the BiBimBap! Best wings outside of Chicago for sure! You have your standard plain, soy garlic (Mild), and Seoul Sassy (Hot) options. I always go for Seoul Sassy. It's not as spicy as other Korean wings, but it still has the heat in it. As saucy as the wings may appear to be, you still get that CRUNCH!! that's from the double frying. That's a sign of amazing wings! Even if you don't come in for happy hour, 6.50 for five wings is still a great deal considering how well they're made! If all this place sold was the wings, I would still give it five stars! They do make the wings to order, at least whenever I have visited, but it is definitely worth the wait! The Korean tacos are very good too! Sad they're no longer on the Happy Hour specials, but the one buck per taco price was waaaaaaaaaay too good to stay. You get a soft tortilla wrap around a very generous amount of seasoned protein (And by that I mean you definitely have to get a fork after to eat the stuff that falls out) and some pickled veggies on top. I have not tried the tofu one, but with such flavorful meat options, I'm going to be honest - I don't see myself picking tofu anytime soon. The BiBimBap is done Chipotle style. You pick your rice, and then your protein, and then veggies from a very nice selection. It's a pretty good sized amount too - Think of Chipotle's burrito bowl on a good day. If you decide to eat in, you will find plenty of seating on weekdays, but the place can be super packed on weekends! The place is kept clean and organized. There's a TV playing Korean TV but also a boombox playing KPop music there too. So definitely more of that feel to it if it's something that matters to you. The encounter with the lady at the register was a tad uncomfortable, it seemed like her attitude of being polite was forced. She definitely had a demeanor that would ward off customers. The Korean corn dogs were great but not my fancy but something about that spicy mayo's kick was very intriguing and almost weirdly hypnotic so I kept taking bites. Their sauce flavors were very rich and tasty making me almost want to go back in to order for a second time just to have some to take home! So far I've had the tacos here as well as the wings. The bulgogi tacos are one of the best I've had, and I wouldn't change a thing about them. All of the ingredients are balanced together nicely and the flavors are complex enough that the third taco was just as enjoyable as the first one. So I rate 5/5 for the tacos. The wings were tasty and crispy, and I could go through more than a dozen of them in one sitting. The sauce however was a bit runny; no big deal but it's just that I found myself wiping some of the sauce off the bottom of the container. But if there was one thing I could change, it would be to also offer fried drumsticks and tenders for the bigger bites that these pieces offer. So the wings score 4/5. Though the place is called Kogii Kogii Express, they do have a decent number of seats and at least half of the tables were occupied when I went on a weekday night. Understandably so; who wants lukewarm tacos by the time they get home? With that in mind, the interior and the seats could use some upgrading. Kogii Kogii is a gem inside of a small stripmall in Naperville. This is a place that I've always felt like I needed. They serve bibimbap chipotle-style where you can pick however many and whatever toppings you want (way beyond traditional bibimbop toppings. I love it!!!). But the real gem of this place is its fried chicken. You must be thinking... seriously? Korean fried chicken? Believe me, it is the crispiest chicken you'll ever eat. The batter is light and the sauce is even better. The garlic soy is delicious if you can't handle spice, but the spicy gochujang is my favorite. Beware, it does pack a punch. This place is a casual korean restaurant that is really approachable for someone who's a beginner in korean food. I like their concept a fresh food style Korean food. However, I know that Korean food takes a lot of labor of love to make it taste authentic and good. It's a clean modern feel. It self serving of water, and utensils which is nice. When you order you can get rice plate, or a make your own bibimbap bowl which is a fun idea. It's not cheap place to get food in my opinion. It not over priced but you can spend easily over $40 there if you don't watch how much you are ordering. We tried, the fried chicken both spicy and garlic soy sauce, flavor and the stone bowl bibmi. We also ordered, fried dumpling, a galbi rice plate and had kimchee fried rice. I felt the stone bowl bibimbap should be in a traditional stone bowl because it was too hard to mix the bowl with the veggies and rice. I wish they offer a big plastic spoon like the traditional sliver spoon because that is how Korean food is to be eaten with a large long spoon and with chopsticks. The food tasted good enough. The side dishes tasted fresh in house and delicious. Galbi was done well with a good flavor. For the price you don't get a lot of food. The fried chicken wings were tiny not very big and it's $10.99 for a large. I can't imagine what a small looks like. SIGH, it's missed some marks for me because it's trying to be hit and trendy in a way that doesn't make it work for me to return that easily. I got to pick all of my own vegetables to add to the bowl which was nice- there's a variety to choose from (but their kimchi is not very good at all). This dish was alright, nothing spectacular ($11) My mom got the small boned spicy chicken wings ($6) these were prettt tasty. Kind of a bit too crunchy compared to the ones I've had in Korea which were very lightly crunchy We shared the kimchi fries ($7) this I would not recommend. I finally visited the location recently for lunch and the 3 star rating fits. Good soy garlic fried chicken wings-these are big and meaty wings-a good snack/appetizer. I also had tacos-small corn shell tacos with ribeye (2) and spicy pork (1) with a bit of lettuce. They needed sauce, so put some dumpling sauce and bibimbap sauce to provide flavor. They didn't have any of the short rib varieties available...at 12:30 on a Friday. I'm sure the bowls/pots are what attracts folks here and the produce looked fresh. The people who work here are kind and patient (as many of their customers are "new" to the food...) and they don't make you feel incompetent if you pronounce one of the dishes incorrectly.
