Small place but the food is great! I am assuming it's family owned and they offer asian and Asian fusion choices. I currently have a hard diet and they were very accommodating. I ordered teriyaki and unfortunately none of the sides that come with it I can have. Their sides change daily and that day they had pickled things. They still went out of their way to sauté me veggies and offered a chicken broth and diakon soup. Everything was wonderful! Will definitely come back here. read more

Most mountain towns seem to have a few Thai restaurant along with the "Himalayan"/Indian restaurant but to come across a Korean restaurant near downtown Flag is a real find. Korean food is equally good in the heat of the summer or depth of winter. We had the bulgogi for dinner which hit the spot after a day of hiking. Service was faster than expected and the restaurant had a nice clean vibe. Looking for forward to coming back in the winter to try the army stew and being close to the university, the chi-mec, the modern KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) will be worth a try, although at the time we were there I do not recall them having a liquor license yet, dinner prices are in the high teens and came with fresh side dishes. Looking at the photos posted, the sides change depending on what is available or in season, of course probiotic packed kimchi should always be in season! read more

First off, I love Korean food: good, bad, mediocre, as long as it's Korean. We were browsing around for something to eat and this restaurant popped up. I was so happy to see that Flagstaff is expanding in cultural food. I recently came back from a trip to Korea and this was my first nostalgic meal since then. It definitely brought back the vibes of walking down the busy streets and stopping into a small shop. The japchae and deokkbokki were delicious. Glad we found this place during our trip to Grand Canyon. Food was great. My sons had the chicken teriyaki and they loved it! The food was well seasoned and was quite healthy too. I had the Bibimbap and the Mandu, both were very delicious. The bibimbap comes with your choice of spicy sauce or soy sauce. I prefer spicy so it didnt disappoint. This is an excellent restaurant! We had the watermelon mint juice, Korean bbq plate, and the bulgogi plate. We also had sides of cucumbers and kimchi and they were also very flavorful. They were soooooo good! The flavors were so fresh and delicious. The service was excellent and the owner was so kind and friendly. This is definitely a Flagstaff gem. Their toboki is so yummy! As a Korean, I highly recommend this place. The menu is very well organized and the dishes listed in the menu look so good. This place is fantastic! Some of the best food I've had in Arizona so far. The Mandu and Dakangjung were especially great. I was very impressed by the little details. This is the best Korean BBQ bowl I have had. Truly an experience of amazing Korean and Teriyaki flavors that made my Beef Bulgogi bowl wonderful!! This is the real deal. I love Korean food so I seek it out whenever I can and this was one of the best places I've eaten. We came here on a Saturday night and ordered mandu, tteokbokki, kimbap, and a bulgogi plate. The food was amazing. The mandu crisp and well-flavored. The tteokbokki was just spicy enough and came with tempura vegetables on top. Kimbap was fresh and very tasty. The bulgogi marinade is sweet and the meat is incredibly tender. I moved to flag when this place opened and I had big regrets when leaving town knowing I wasn't going to live close to this place. Wherever you end up sitting this location is cozy. I think I tried every dish except for the army stew, which I'm sure is also of great quality. The best pet about going to kokiyo is that they offer the best options in town. The best chicken, great sauces. Amazing beef dishes. Very really good tofu bibimbap. There were many occasions I was sad I didn't get there on time, they close at 8 as do many restaurants in Flag. More stars for Kokiyo ! Received delivery from Kokiyo during the pandemic and actually went in to the restaurant for Father's Day. I got to pick the restaurant and I chose Kokiyo! Not only have they maintained their quality but they have improved it. We grabbed the lunch bento boxes and they were excellent. Beef bulgogi w rice and sides were yummy. Can't say we were enthusiastic about the fish stew but it had amazing depth. Just not what my kid expected. All I can say is that if you are in the mood for Asian food and you can live without Sesame Chicken, GO to Kokiyo. This would be one star if not for the side dishes which were quite tasty - tofu and kimchi. My husband and I got army stew soup and bibimbap, and the food was okay at best; if you made ramen at your home you can expect a similar quality. The place itself is cold and sterile in the front seating area, but ironically completely cluttered in the back area where the kitchen is and where the customer can, unfortunately, see. As we are already stepping out the front door to leave after paying, and feeling a little saddened by the experience, the woman at the front counter coldly said "can you pick up your waste?" A tad demanding given that there is no signage or instructions given to do so. We apologized kindly and put our uneaten foods in the trash as we were glared at by the woman at the counter. If you are in need of food the side dishes are about the only redeeming thing about the place, but I would recommend take out to avoid the people and the place. We spent a few days in Flagstaff and overall we were impressed with the food there. But the most impressive place we went to was Kokiyo. We got bulgogi, chicken katsu, chicken wings, kalbi short ribs, and a vegetarian bibimbap. Everything was excellent. Amazing korean food! We got Army's stew, Galbi, and nonspicy seafood noodles. There are side dishes, soup and rice came with the entree. The army's stew portion is for 1 person, it is medium spicy and if you are a guy, you may wanna order extra rice because the worst thing is to have stew left without any rice. Galbi's marination was on point and the meat was tender. Also, the kimchi was so so good! The restaurant is small, only seven tables. The food was not great either. I got the Army Men's Soup and it felt cheap. It tasted like ketchup, the noodles were actually quite good but i'm pretty sure the "sausage" included in the dish was hot dogs cut diagonally, for $14 it was a let down. The service wasn't insanely slow, but the place seemed short staffed. Our server wasn't rude but she felt put off, whenever I said thank you she ignored me. The mood in the room was nice and the food was presented well, it came on a tray for each person with some kimchi, rice, and a cucumber dish, however I would not return or recommend. read more
