Yes, I bought quite a few for my boyfriend and I. They aren't too big, but they do taste pretty good. They are great for a quick breakfast. They open early so I went in after I got out from my night shift. Oh, I also got a strawberry cream cheese kolache. OMG, i tried not to finish it because I want my boyfriend to taste how good it is! Ok this place is wow. Also feels like some sort of best kept secret. Fantastic coffee! Freshly roasted and grounded Arabica Columbian dark roast coffee slow drip brew. Better than what any Keurig could offer you. Their Kolaches are holy shit good! Personal favorites are the pepperoni kolache, pulled pork kolache, sausage egg jalapeno kolache, and the nutella kolache-danish. Hypothetically, if I was on a "f***-my-diet-shameless-binge-eating-marathon" nutella kolache and the apricot creamcheese kolache would be my weapons of choice. They have a number of fruit+creamcheese or - creamcheese assortments. I chose Apricot and had like 12 of them so i can lie to myself that Ive had a healthy serving of fruit for the day. I come here almost every Saturday as my cheat day, but recently have found my self coming here during the week cheating my cheat day. I also have never seen grown-ass men, with their children let lose to run around, excitedly approaching the register star struck and ready to make their usual box selection. Its the look of a parent where this is clearly the highest point of their day. I dont have any kids, but i think thats a pretty good compliment on the establishment when they can provide a mental euphoric escape from raising your kids. read more

This place was on my "to-do" list for a couple of weeks now. My husband and I decided to mosey on over for a lazy Sunday breakfast. The kolaches were yummy, much better than your local corner donut shop kolaches (or so their called), but these aren't Czech stop either. We picked up a dozen consisting of: Bacon, jalapeno and sausage, and sausage & cheese. We also got a couple cream cheese, blueberry/cream cheese raspberry/cream cheese and apricot/cream cheese. All of them were delicious, the sweet varieties are a little bready, but if you manage it right, you can get a little bit of filling in each bite. The bacon kolaches were chock full of bacon, it was almost wrong how much bacon was inside that Kolache! All in all this place was great. I took a star away because of the location. Its not inconvenient, but if you don't know where it is, you wont see it from the street (Heubner). We had to make a u-turn. Also, I was surprised at how dead it was, maybe we missed the morning rush? Dead places like this worry me. I'll give it another try earlier in the morning. If you are craving kolaches, this place is worth the trek if you aren't lucky enough to live near by. Not "Czech Stop road trip worthy", but definitely "lets take the long way home" worthy. Also, worth noting, they are open till 2pm, while corner donut shops usually close at noon. read more

I Stopped into Kolache Stop this morning to pick up a couple of kolaches. They have a pretty wide selection with some interesting varieties including some with egg in them. I got three for me and BF to share. One traditional w sausage/cheese/jalapeno, one egg/chorizo and one bacon/egg/cheese (recommendation from the guy behind the counter). I wasn't really wowed by any of the kolaches. I think it might be because the dough was a little sweet for a savory breakfast food. I did notice that they make danish like kolaches with cream cheese and fruit. I may go back and try those. I imagine the dough would pair well with a fruit filling. The service was prompt and the coffee is good. It looks like they have an interesting lunch menu. read more

The kolache stop is a smallish breakfast/lunch reastaurant that specializes in my favorite type of food- meat incased in bread. I sampled a meatball kolache, a bacon and cheese kolache, and a sausage and cheese kolache. These were all delicious! The meatball kolache was like a meatball sub, but easier to eat, and the others were your standard kolaches- about palm size and heated in a microwave prior to being served. The prices are reasonable and there is quite the variety of kolaches - only complaint I have is that they aren't all available for breakfast. They staff was friendly, maybe a tad shy, but still nice to myself and family when we visited. I look forward to coming back and trying new types of kolaches! Something I would love to see is maybe a call ahead-have the food taken to your car type service, which would make this stop more appealing for early mornings heading to work. read more

1st visit. Breakfast order: "Pulled Pork, BBQ Beef and Sausage with Cheese" 1,95$ each Service / Wait time: For some reason nobody was there at this wonderful Friday morning. We came in and the employee was super friendly and prepared the kolaches very quickly (just heated them up basically). They are made fresh though and they have this great wall that shows you how they make them. It's wonderful. He was very educated on the types of meats they used and how the tastes differed from each kolache, so don't be shy to ask! 5/5 Pulled Pork Kolache: WOW! That was... so very yummy. They don't cheat you on the amount of pork in it and you really get what you paid for with $2. Simply amazing, really. 5/5 BBQ Beef Kolache: It was just like the pork - amazing! I did prefer the pork more though, but again, there was enough beef in it and it tasted so fresh and warm, fabulous! 4.5/5 Sausage with Cheese Kolache: Crisp sausage although there wasn't that much in there honest and I hardly tasted the Monterey Jack cheese. 3/5 Atmosphere / Cash out: It was super easier and the receipt showed exactly what we bought. A Czech patient of mine went on and on about the best kolaches in Texas and after my shift I couldn't stop thinking about them. I wasn't going all the way out to Seguin like he said but this place provided warm, delicious kolaches for me and my family and definitely quelled the craving. We got the plain sausage and sausage with cheese. So good! Also got cherry kolaches because my 4 year old loves cherries! We'll be back! read more

I am sad that I didn't even know what a Kolache was until two months ago when I moved to San Antonio! The Kolache Stop has become our Saturday morning habit! I am more of a sweet girl but the hubby loves the sausage cheese and jalapeño Kolache. I am a huge fan of the pumpkin, the Nutella and the apple but I haven't had anything that wasn't good! First time experience today and I have to say that their jalapeño, cheese, sausage Kolache were awesome!!! Very clean and the smell of fresh baked kolaches greets you as you walk in. They had other items to choose from. The chocolate chip cookies looked sinful! May have to try those next. Family owned restaurant. Great little spot to pick up some food on the go or have a nice chat in or outside( they have tables for both) I had the egg and brisket kolache. Not my fav. Id recommend the sausage and egg which was what my sister got. Way better. As for the sweet kolaches. I had the blueberry and cream cheese. Love this place. The sausage,cheese, and jalapeño is my go to, but they are all good. I've tried many a kolache through the years, and these are the best in San Antonio. This is the kolache Mecca! Never before have I seen such a range of them, and so many are completely out of the box items to make into kolaches. I went here last Su day with someone who was already among the faithful. Since we were buying for a few if us we were shy with how many we got. We got 4 of just about everything except for the sweet ones. I only got a mixed handful of fruit kolaches. Among what we got were the pulled pork, BBQ beef, polish sausage, green chile chicken, meatball, and sausage and cheese. Every single one was amazing. My favorite was the BBQ beef, there were little pieces of burnt ends in it, and it was amazing. The green chile chicken had enough kick without being overbearing. The meatball kolaches were tasty but we decided that more marinara was in order. While there was a little in there along with the cheese and meat, it could have used some extra for dipping. Took much in the kolache itself wouldn't allow it to keep its integrity. There are still more varieties that I need to try, but you best believe that I will be back! read more
