Ordered take out and was very disappointed with entire meal. Calamari tasted fine except it was really chewy and batter not crunchy. The chicken satay pieces were small and the sauce was blan. The chicken katsu was ok but the curry was watered down and lacked curry flavor. It did come with potatoes and carrots. The pad thai was lacking the taste I'm used to at authentic restaurants, and the shrimp was slightly over cooked. All of the portions were very small. read more

Funky little Thai restaurant located upstairs in the Kōloa shopping center. Super casual atmosphere, and we were seated immediately. The service was very friendly. We ordered gyoza, pad Thai, and drunken noodles. I have an extremely high heat tolerance and enjoy my food unreasonably spicy. I asked for extra Thai spicy on my drunken noodles, emphasizing that I wanted it as hot as possible. I hadn't been properly lit up yet on this trip, and they happily obliged. It ended up being one of the best drunken noodles I've had in my life. Don't judge a book by its cover--this place has some of the most flavorful food I've had on the island, and I come back annually. I'll definitely be back! read more

I ordered tom yum soup. The plate itself was huge, with a huge rim but where the soup was supposed to go, the bowl itself was small and shallow, probably 10 oz. The cost of the soup without any meat or shrimp was $20 and if you add shrimp like I did, was additional $6, total being $26 plus extra for tip and tax. To add to the fact that there was hardly any soup in this huge shallow plate, the soup was inauthentic, tasted like it was made with chicken stock not fish stock, no mushrooms, barely spicy, the shrimp were dry and small, all around a tourist trap. I feel angry I spent almost $30 on this. If these people ran this restaurant in new york, they would be closed within 2 weeks. The staff was nice. You have to walk up to second floor to get to the restaurant. Good luck. read more

It is new Thai and sushi restaurant that just open a month ago. We had a reservation for teppanyaki for our friend's birthday. We ordered a larb lettuce wrap and hamachi ceviche to start. They were super good and delicious. Spicy and tender for the hamachi. For our teppanyaki we ordered the Emperor Japanese wagyu with lobster tail, Austrian wagyu and sea of kauai. Everything was so good and the seafood was fresh and scallops were tender. Chef booth did an amazing job and had us laughing the whole time. read more

My husband and I tried the newly opened Koloa Thai Bistro today. The food was FANTASTIC. We had the coconut shrimp, the Lena roll (without fish eggs) and chicken pad Thai. Definitely the best restaurant we found in Kauai. Service was reasonable. Although calling 2 adults and 3 kids a large party and automatic 20% tip was a little unusual.
