We stopped in about two weeks ago and had the the Knockout and OMG, ribs, brisket and sausage loaded up on this baked potato...yum yum yum! Went back two days later and had the knock out again along with the small chopped beef and the ET's...Lord have mercy!!! Let's just say we have been back three more times and we are here again right now!!! I used to love this place but they have become inconsistent. The last few times I have gotten the potatoes they have been unusually small. What I can't understand that as small as they were they were hard and hadn't been cooked long enough. I always get the Lightweight with chopped beef. This time the potatoes were back to being huge which I was glad to see. As soon as I took a bite of the potato all I tasted was burnt, dry, hard meat. I am so disappointed. They knew better than to put that burnt meat in those potatoes. They knew they could no give that crap to someone who ordered slice beef so instead of taking the loss on the meat and throwing it away they passed it off in the potatoes and probably the chopped beef sandwiches as its hard to see mixed in with all that sauce. Well I bought two potatoes that we can't eat. What a waste of $32.00. The one thing I will say that is positive is unlike most Black Owned establishments the employees are extremely courteous. I made a trip here after seeing a video of their Heavweight baked potato that went viral on Facebook. It's a small mom and pop place. It's not a sit down restaurant it's take out only and right now they only take cash. They have a window you can walk up to outside and also one inside. When I got here the line was out of the door. Everybody I asked had seen the video on Facebook. They weren't quite prepared for the demand they received after the video went viral so I had to wait over an hour for more potatoes to be ready. They kept having family Members come in to help them. And the ordering process was a little unorganized. The heavyweight comes with butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, sausage links, chopped beef, beans and bacon bits... however today they weren't having beans on them for some reason. I weighed my potato when I got home and it weighed 3.5lbs!!!! Once I tasted it.. OMG, HEAVEN!! It was so good, and soooooo worth the wait! I'd definitely come back here. This place wasn't even on yelp, I created this just so I could share how good it was lol The meat was so nice and tender and their BBQ sauce is good too. My only suggestion is that they put salt and pepper on the potato because once you get some without all of the stuff on it, it's kind of bland. I would've given them 5 stars, but the wait and how unorganized they were made it hard to be perfect. But hopefully later it gets better and I can come back and update it read more

I was going to give one star only reason I gave two is because the chop beef was good the bake potato was cooked great... now them link sausage that come with idk if you guys trying cut food cost down them links was not great at all cheap meat idk even know what kind of links them were. Then who using them bacon bits and not real bacon never went to a bbq place that dint use real bacon I don't even use that fake bacon on my salads. it was good, it was my first time going I had been looking for BBQ in the neighborhood when I don't feel like traveling and it delivered, I ordered a baked potato with brisket and the works it was HUGE and very pleasing I had to have help eating it and I liked the fact the the toppings went ALL THE WAY THROUGH not just a teaspoon on top and the rest of the potato so dry you can't eat it I will return ,told my family as well to give them a try, only beef I have didn't like the brand of cheese they used on it ,sorry but it is a cheap brand made with oil, and you can taste it, but other than that I will return to try other things glad to know that there is a BBQ in the hood that cares what they serve to their customers read more

I was told about this place, and it's really not that far from where I live, so I thought I'd try it. I didn't realize that they don't take cards, only cash. I only had a $20 on me, so I got the rib plate with cabbage and potato salad. I like that the potato salad didn't have onions...I'll give it that..and it was decent. I expect ribs to be greasy, and these were, but they were also burnt. I don't mean crispy, I mean BURNT to the point that you couldn't even bite into it without breaking a tooth..burnt. I had 3 small ribs and a couple of gristle ends, all burnt, so there wasn't a lot of meat....certainly not for the price. The cabbage was brown. I'm not sure how you get brown steamed cabbage, but there it was. It tasted...fair... but I'm still trying to figure out the brown thing. I probably won't go back. If I had gotten meat I could eat, I might consider it, but it's not worth the trip or the cost for burnt meat that you can't even chew. Hope other folks have better luck. The overall experience surprised me. Kooly's was brought to my attention by a colleague. I say that because it's a hole in the wall and I would have never thought to go there. But I'm happy I did. I ordered the "lightweight" smoked chicken baked potato platter and it was massive! I think the only thing I didn't really care for was the skin on the meat. The wife and I popped into Kooly's this past weekend, after I saw other review about their food and service. I'm not going to write a long review, but I'm going to mimic the restaurant. First, the spot, lets be real, it's in da hood, in the cut, it's one of them you gotta watch your backside, but it's not a slight on the spot. Second, the menu is short and sweet and you have to thank the man upstairs that the person attended the front window is not dude, that played the soup nazi in Seinfeld. Speaking of the young man, at the window, he was helpful and very knowledgeable about the menu and explained what, what is.
