I'm only giving this place three stars because of what I ordered. My coworkers ordered either the chicken tenders, fried chicken or sandwiches. None of them were very happy with their food. However, I ordered the falafel platter which was very good. The falafel were perfectly golden brown on the outside, with a nice crisp exterior, soft interior, and seasoned well. The salad was pretty lame and I wish they provided me with more pita bread. Kosher Deluxe is a very large deli and they have just about everything one can want. Would I come back here? For the falafel platter sure, but as far as everything else, I'm not sure. read more

I give this place 5 stars because they do a great job in many areas: 1) They have a very long menu with a variety of things from a chinese menu, deli, salads, shwarma, to cholent (on thursdays and fridays). Yes, a lot of the food is greasy and bad for you, but they do have plenty of healthy things on the menu. My favorite is grilled chicken with couscus and vegetables for $10. It is a full meal, healthy, and tastes very good. When I'm looking for something small and cheap I'll go for the chicken noodle soup for $4. I often end up just getting shwarma with a plate-load of salads. 2) The place is clean and well-maintained. They get good scores on city inspection. 3) The service is very quick. I never have to wait long in line, and delivery is the fastest. 4) Management does a very good job running this place. They are quick and very efficient. I once ordered a special that included fries. When the fries didn't come I called, and minutes later someone arrived with the fries. Management does a phenomenal job. I would want them on my team. read more

The people that work here are rude. I approached the counter on Monday evening and the women hardly picked up her head from her cell phone. I ordered Moroccan fish with rice and vegetables. I was in the mood for food and randomly walked passed kosher deluxe and decided to go in, my first time there I noticed the place was dirty, not kept up, lights were off but I didn't think much of it, I then waited in line for 5 minutes and nobody would take my order and I was the only one waiting in line, then either an owner or mashgiach comes out looks at me and goes away. I continue to wait, and he comes out again, screams across the front restaurant at a 2-3 year old child to close the fridge door, I understand you want the drinks cold but he should have done it in a polite manner by going up to the parents quietly. But other than that, the food was decent I judge a restaurant on how well the also can make a simple hamburger. Also there a a lot of employees just sitting around doing nothing, they might as well fire people and save money to fix the place up. read more

A freak summer cold drove me to Kosher Deluxe for matzah ball soup. I threw in a potato knish for old times sake. The soup was CLEARLY the noodle soup with TWO matzah balls thrown in. I paid $9.50 a quart. One quart of matzah ball soup = 2 soggy matzahs? And I wanted noodle soup, I would have ordered noodle soup. Terribly lazy and they should be ashamed of themselves. There's a lot of good and a little bad in this cafeteria-style kosher eatery. The best stuff is to the right as you enter. You can't beat their Schwarma in a baguette with hummus, and the meat and potato borekas are excellent. I'd recommend you skip the chinese food and platters. It's overpriced and mediocre. But there's great soups and side dishes. I love the Kasha knish, although it can sometimes take them a while to prepare it. Good chicken egg roll too. The best thing here by a long shot, though? The desserts. Dairy free sweets aren't always the greatest, but the brownie here is rich and chocolatey, and the Pecan Pie is excellent. One of the best versions of this pie I've ever had. Chock-ful of pecans! You may want to be here on off-hours, though. It's a favorite lunch spot for the diamond district, and it can be packed, with lines out the door! read more

Working late, my company ordered us dinner from this restaurant. I ordered a first cut pastrami on a baguette with french fries. The fries were limper than a wet noodle and the first cut pastrami, which is supposed to be the leaner cut, had more fat in it than meat.
