    Lunch sushi

True Japanese food. Kitchen is run by a Japanese chef. Reasonably priced, local business, not a chain restaurant. All food are nicely prepared and fresh.

My friend who lives in Goshen found this spot as a central point to meet up for lunch…read more Their website looked great so we were excited to try this place. When I arrived, I was absolutely in love - with every detail. I had no idea this place would impress me so much. It was intimate, I counted maybe 8 -10 tables. The sushi was being made right there in front of us. The servers were top notch and knew when to check in and when to leave us to chat. The food was beautiful cooked and plate. Presentation makes a difference!! My friend& I both got miso soups and the premier bento box which came with SO. MUCH. FOOD - an udon soup, California roll, dumpling, choice of appetizer and choice of entree. I went with crispy rice with salmon and teriyaki chicken. 1000000/10 Sushi Bada is a chain so I dying to go to the closer location. Thank you for the best lunch date!

I waited and it took about 10 minutes to fill the empty glass from the bottle placed in front of me. A soft shell crab roll with pollack (fake crab) and fried shell skin empty legs, no softshell crab body, and w t f ROMAINE LETTUCE okaaay. There was scant rice and every bite fell apart. Did they use discarded crabs legs from an appetizer? Cucumber avocado roll had just enough rice to qualify as a roll. The "low sodium" soy sauce was watered down. Anyone with eyes can see that. Okaaay. Won't be back.

Having valet service makes the visit comfortable, the grounds are well kept (including the Koi pond) and the host desk is always friendly and accommodating. During this visit, we had a private booth, which I highly recommend. The chef ALWAYS puts on an entertaining performance and I'm always in awe at the sharpness of their knives. The food is always prepared as requested and the service is second to none. The staff is well dressed, cordial, and ready to tend to every course and need. Mt. After that, service slowed to a crawl. We spent much of the night politely waving for drink refills, and there was a long wait after soup and salad before the chef arrived. The full experience clocked in at nearly three hours -- enough time to consider dessert elsewhere. The restaurant has been renovated, but the hibachi experience itself wasn't exactly a showstopper. Our chef was very animated and did all the expected tricks, but with nearby chefs singing at full volume, the atmosphere felt less like hibachi and more like an impromptu karaoke night. The prices were steep -- nearly double what similar hibachi spots charge -- and unfortunately, the food didn't rise to the occasion. The filet mignon and sirloin were underwhelming, the chicken was generously coated in teriyaki but somehow still lacked flavor, and the green tea soft serve arrived with an unexpected chocolate syrup drizzle that definitely did not ask for permission. While this place is clearly popular and booked months in advance, the experience wasn't unique enough to justify the cost or the time commitment. There are plenty of nearby options offering the same hibachi show without the three-hour runtime.

Sangria's has been a go-to for us for years for good tapas and sangria, but we've now had issues on…read moreour last two visits, and this most recent one was especially frustrating. The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience. After this visit, we'll think twice before coming back.
