It was windy and I asked one of the girl to send the waiter and she said they were a bit busy and asked to be patience. After we finally ordered our meal it took long time to bring our meals and this is the second time that happened to us. Maybe because we were only 2 people. I saw that a table of 6 people who came 20 minutes after us hit their food first. This was unacceptable. read more

I'll start with saying that I am Peruvian so i know what this cuisine should taste like. Been coming to this place since they opened. Everything is so good. Closest to that homemade taste out of all the local wannabes. Service is always great. Staff is always kind. I love that they've expanded so the wait times aren't as long on busy nights. The food here is amazing! Kotosh is easy to miss while driving by, but definitely worth checking out. Both of the main dishes we ordered came out very fresh, fast, and with large portion size . The sauces on the pastas were well done and we enjoyed them very much. They have a wide selection of rolls to choose from, some with funny names. Love me some good Peruvian food! Kotosh didn't disappoint. My staple is always the lomo saltado, which I tried here as well, in addition to the salmon skin salad. Lomo saltado: sirloin and fries, what's not to love? I was quite impressed with both the meat quality and fries - just made this dish so much better than other places I've tried it at. And the sauce - so yummy! A definite must try! I will add if you don't finish the plate in one sitting, the flavors were even better the next day. Salmon skin salad: so I will preface this was I'm not a big fan of salmon skin, however my BIL ordered this for the table to share. The sushi here is top quality and the service even when busy is superb. The sushi chef remembers us even when we haven't been there in months/years. It's quite pricey so we go there only on special occasions. It was easier to go when my boyfriend worked down the street or earlier hours. The ambiance is always poppin. My new favorite dish is the Tallarin Huancaina Lomo. The sauce wasn't spicy to me but the waitress mentioned that it has a little kick. The beef was a little tough but it all was very tasty. I will ask for chicken next time. Our other dishes was Ceniche Mixto, green salad, fried calamari, and kids meal with karaage and spam rolls and it looked so delicious. I visited Kotosh on a Saturday at 6pm. We had a party of 12, which they were able to surprisingly accommodate pretty quickly. However, we had tried calling previously just to see if there was a wait but we were not able to get through so if you feel risky, go ahead and just go in person to check! We were seated outside and our party was split into two tables of six. There were multiple heating lamps, but the lamps were on too high - my brother in law and his wife were getting toasted in their seats! We tried to ask the server to help us with that but she stated that the other customers across from us requested for them to be that high. This restaurant is quite interesting, serving both Peruvian and Japanese cuisine. My table decided to just stick with the Peruvian food and ordered the following: 2 servings of Lomo Saltado - $19 each -not that big of a serving but was tasty -fries could have been crispier -adding the green sauce makes this more fire lol (I basically added it to everything!) -flavor was enough -meat was tender Arroz Con Mariscos - Paella ( didn't catch the price!) - quite tasty and was a generous serving - had seafood and I enjoyed the prawn on top with squid and other Mariscos Chicharron Mixto Al Ajo - $25 -quite disappointed -not a big fan of the overall flavor -the dish was not crispy and already soggy from the sauce Inca Kola - Surprisingly, this was my first can of this Peruvian soda. I wasn't a big fan of it since my brother in law stated that it tasted like a not so flavorful bubble gum haha. I totally agreed. Overall, I wasn't blown away by the food but it was a good experience. The food came out at good times (other than the chicharron mixto - that took a while). They remembered to put the green sauce on our table but forgot our other table (they didn't remember to ask for the sauce until late in their meal!). I ordered here a few times, and for Peruvian, the sushi is good. It isn't exceptional, but good, and I'm glad I tried it. Also, I ordered through grubhub a couple of times, and the quality stayed the same, I appreciate this. The usual for me is the there ceviche, lomo saltado, and a roll or two. I was skeptical about the meshing of the 2 strong and distinct cuisines (Peruvian and Japanese) but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was terrific. Warm, friendly, and very helpful in navigating the menu. We decided on the YUCA A LA HUANCAÍNA: Fried Yuca with spicy cheese sauce ($10), TALLARÍN VERDE: Spaghetti with spinach, cheese and basil sauce - topped with Chicken Katsu ($20), and CAUSA RELLENA: Whipped potato with aji amarillo filled with imitation crab and avocado ($10). Everything was tasty, the portions were pretty large, and prices low. I would say the best example of the combinations of the two cuisines was by far the CAUSA RELLENA. I had such a lovely experience dining here for the first time today with a friend. Lily warmly welcomed us and gave us a detailed rundown of the menu and her recommendations. She even let us have a sample of two Peruvian juices... I preferred the passionfruit one! My friend and I shared the Acebichado Roll, Slur Roll, and the Chicharron Mixto Al Ajo. All very delicious but my favorite has to be the Acebichado Roll which was so fresh and had such a nice citrus flavor. As it was my first time having Japanese Peruvian food I was not sure what to expect but I'm so glad I came! Interior is simple and cozy. Small parking lot but I had no trouble locating a spot. Let's start w the obvious, the green sauce makes it all work. With that said, the food doesn't need the green sauce, but it makes everything else even better. The best fish soup (chupe de pescado) in town. Salad is fresh and delish (salmon skin salad). All of their cebiches are yummy. Friendly staff and a clean atmosphere. oh my god, this is now 1 of my fav restaurants in the S Bay. after years of procrastination (& listening to friends saying how great it is), I finally checked it to see what the hype was all about. they opened at 11, I walked in around 11:15 to get a table and the fishmonger came in right behind me with the day's catch, so you know the fish is fresh!! the yellowtail carpacio was divine & the tofu salad is my go-to now. my friend orders shrimp saltado every time she visits. def next time I want to try their Peruvian style tuna sashimi :). p.s. This place is a Gem here in Lomita. We went from coming here a lot with friends and family to coming here once in a while due to their prices have gone up quite a bit. For two people it's a lot. The food is great tho. Their sushi selection is great and very flavorful. The service is pretty good and very attentive. Visited for the first time last week and had a very enjoyable experience. We were a party of four and got seated after about 15 minutes which is pretty good in these limited seating times. We started with a couple of appetizers of sashimi and both were good but the Tiradito De Atun was a standout with its lemon and soy sauce. I had the Mariscos Saltado while my wife had the Chicharron De Pescado AL Ajo. Both were very good and would definitely order either one again. Ordered on a Saturday night for pick up at 5:30pm, took 45 min for the food to be ready. When I walked in, it was pretty busy, almost every table was filled. Ordered the chaufa pollo, tastes amazing with the green sauce! Got two orders of the lomo saltado because that's one of their most popular dishes and it did not disappoint. Love the hand roll combo, and some of my faves include the Tuna Tataki, the SLUR, and the Eel & Masago or Waterpillar. Their eel isn't rubbery, their food is well make, and their sushi is better than middle-range so I do think their prices are fair. If you're looking for something cooked, I've recommended basically everything in my previous reviews.
