Dined here for my mom's birthday and what a time we had! Would like to give a HUGE shoutout to the owner and staff of Krave who made my mother's birthday a memorable experience. They played Stevie Wonder's "Happy Birthday" version & danced with us! Food was good - very flavorful with a lovely presentation. Cons included too much oil used, overcooked scallops, candied plaintains? Plaintains are sweet as is. Can do without the additional sugar. Could've been the chef that day. Unsure. My favs were the sautéed spinach, meatballs, and the codfish fritters. Very good! Would revisit and I do recommend to others to dine!

Happy Birthday

Went to celebrate another year of life with my friends. The food was good. Especially the oxtails. The rum punch could have had more of a punch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music was played at a good sound level. We were able to calmly converse at the table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good time was had by all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The food and service were good my one feedback was that the salt content was a little bit high in the Mac and cheese and the oxtails. Outside of that everything was good. The drinks are top tier!!!

Always 10!!! Went last night and had the amazing Lloyd as our server. His customer service is outstanding! Ordered the usual drinks & appetizers: Rum Punch, Double Trouble & jerk wings - well done. Wings were excellent! So good, we ordered another one. For entrees, we got curry shrimp with rice & peas; fried shrimp with rice & peas - side of oxtail gravy. Everything was great! Shrimp on both dishes was cooked well. Got another double trouble drink....yes that's the best drink on the menu. And a take out order of Cole slaw (comes with the fried shrimp dinner) & Mac n cheese.

I visited Kraves on Saturday to celebrate my father and brother birthday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance of the restaurant is calm and relaxing. There is music that play in the background. The music is not loud and obnoxious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, they play r&b, hip hop and some Caribbean music. Preference wise if I'm going to a Caribbean establishment I like hearing soca, reggae, dancehall, etc. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The establishment is kid friendly. They have a kids menu as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food tastes amazing. The oxtails were tender and falling off the bone. Everything was flavorful. I really enjoyed the jerk chicken tacos! The drinks were pretty good. Two people at our table had the rum punch. Neither of them liked this drink as it has too much cinnamon. To me the drink tasted like a horchata. Service was ok. There were a few mistakes with our meals. But it was addressed immediately. I do recommend.

Truly enjoyed my birthday at KRAVE. Very good idea of authentic Caribbean food! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is lovely inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Snapper Escovitch peas and rice rum punch

Had codfish cakes and tasted the lobster crab rolls. The former were ok (I've had better), and the rolls were just mehhh. Both accompanying sauces were super thick and not good. Snapper escovitch - super dry. The escovitch tasted like it was sitting for days. Peas and rice - smh, and not in a good way. Side note - I was hungry, so I ate the food but it was not bc it was enjoyable. Rum punch - was cool. Had an after taste but (I can't say what that taste was). I doubt I will return

I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Krave. My friends and I went on a Friday night, the music was great, but not so loud that you can't carry on a conversation. We ordered the cod fish fritters and pepper shrimp for appetizers. They were both very good. The pepper shrimp was very spicy, which I enjoyed. The service was good - our orders were taken and provided quickly. I had shrimp friend rice for my entree - so yummy! The atmosphere was great, the service was efficient, and the food was delicious. highly recommend and will be coming back!

Everything I've had here is great, Rasta pasta, pepper spicy(very very spicy), wings calamari and drinks are good too!The service is great to everyone is very polite and attentive. They have taco Thursdays too Casual wear is good and there is a pay parking lot if there is no street parking

Kettle pot fried chicken with peas and rice and Coleslaw

The food was decent. The rice was pretty good the Fried chicken was seasoned wheee it was a tiny bit spicy to me. The coleslaw was meh . The Customer service was not up to par as they sometimes dismissed us when asked a question. My food was the very last one to come out so I waited longer than others.

As with many Caribbean spots that try to brand themselves as upscale, Krave falls short. A girlfriend told me about this place and I checked out their menu. One day while in the area, I decided to stop by and order dinner to go. If you know me, you know I tend to spend a small fortune on a first time restaurant test run. I like to sample various items so that I know straight off the bat, whether or not I'll go back. We were told 45-60 minutes for our order to be ready but it was actually waiting for me to grab it, around 25 minutes. The place looks clean and well-kept, plenty of hand sanitizer, and I believe they checked temperatures before allowing people to dine in person at the time of my visit. Food Rundown: Calamari ($15): Definitely not worth the price. For some reason the calamari was red under the breading. It was dry as all hell, like it was dehydrated and then fried, possibly pre-cooked and kept warm. It definitely did not look anything like the picture from their menu. It came with a "hollandaise" sauce, but if you want my honest opinion, I swear that was Mickey Dee's 'secret sauce' of ketchup, mayo, sans the relish, and maybe some red pepper flakes and paprika. It was not very appealing and tasted basic. Crab and Lobster Rolls ($15): These are so NOT good. They were fishy tasting and smelled bad, like tin crab that's gone wrong. They were dry and unappealing, and served with no other sauce than that one small container of "hollandaise", which was apparently to be used with every appetizer we ordered. Cod Fish Cakes ($10): These were OK but I've definitely had better. The main question was, where's the cod fish? They tasted like cod-flavoured dough balls. They were quite bland, no dipping sauce, but tasted like they may have been freshly made. Lamb Meatballs ($12): Where do I even begin with these? First, we didn't even know what they were at first. They were packaged in a plastic soup container, filled with this thick yellow liquid that did not look appetizing in the slightest. I initially thought that it was a soup they accidentally sent us because you literally could not see anything but liquid. When I opened the container, the scent was lovely! I tasted it and it was very flavourful. I found the meatballs in what we determined was the yogurt mint sauce but it tasted more like a thick curry yogurt sauce. Unfortunately, the meatballs were very dry and the entire dish looked nothing like the menu picture and not worth the cost. The only saving grace was that they gave over a half pint of the sauce, so we used it with many of the other items that came with no sauce, or needed something to make them taste better. Baked Mac & Cheese Side ($15): I was very disappointed with this. Again, they served it in another plastic soup container. I'm used to dry macaroni pie served at West Indian restaurants but the nicer restaurants usually serve a more traditional Southern-style mac n cheese. Not in this case. It was definitely cooked ahead of time, dry and bland. The packaging was not appealing at all. Plantains Side ($6): These tasted really good. They were one of the few items that tasted freshly cooked. Again, they were served in a plastic soup container. Dutch Pot Fried Chicken ($15): This was soooo bad. The chicken was cooked beyond death. It was dry, overcooked and crispy-burnt. My husband ate a few bites but did not finish it. It was horrible and again, seemed to have possibly been cooked prior and kept under a heat lamp. Jerk Chicken ($15): This was one of the few items that actually tasted fresh. You can tell that they actually cooked it to order, or at least it seemed that way. My one issue was that the chicken was not cook through. There were bloody bones inside and that was a completed turn off. I didn't finish it. Ackee and Shrimp ($32): This was one of the better dishes, albeit salty. My son ordered it with mashed potatoes which helped subdue the saltiness of the dish. This is actually a great combo that I would like to try again but I would probably just buy the ingredients for my mother to make for me. Krave's version was unnecessarily salty. Either they did not boil out the salt from the fish enough or they added toouch salt back in. Either way, it was great idea that was poorly executed. Kids Chicken Fingers ($15): This dish was served with fries. The chicken tasted to be cooked to order. It was levels above their Dutch pot chicken, that's for sure. My toddler enjoyed it. The fries were not that great for a 15 dollar dish. All in all, I probably won't ever go back. The price tag doesn't fit the quality of goods provided. I've had better fare at less refined places. Perhaps the food tastes better when you order in house but if that's the case, why offer takeaway? They missed so may marks and I was looking forward to finding a nicer Caribbean restaurant close by to frequent. I'm disappointed by what I received.

Tiny Jerk chicken tacos. Perfect portions for an appetizer.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and clean, with nice music playing in the background that really set the mood for a relaxing brunch. The staff and service were excellent everyone was friendly, attentive, and professional. The drinks from the bar were honestly some of the best I've had in a long time. The bartender definitely did not skimp on the liquor, and the drink was perfectly made. For brunch, I ordered the omelet with jerk shrimp and it was absolutely delicious flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the catfish and she loved it as well. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. She also ordered dessert and really enjoyed it. Toward the end of our meal, Alvin, the owner, came over to our table and introduced himself, which was such a nice personal touch and made the experience even more special. Before leaving, I even ordered food to take home because the meal was that good. Overall, this restaurant was an excellent choice. Great food, great drinks, great service, and a great atmosphere. My friend and I enjoyed it so much that we are already planning to come back again with our husbands. I would definitely recommend Alvin & Friends for brunch.

We ate in the brewery behind the restaurant (there's a cool service window to the back kitchen behind the bar!), and I could not possibly have expected the meal we enjoyed. As I mentioned, the catfish sandwich was lovely, soft fish encased in a light frying batter that was just deliciously spiced. The cornbread is absolutely not to be missed, it is thick and moist. The servings are generous and you will feel fulfilled at the end of your meal. My wife had the honey BBQ wings, and when you get the option, have these baked, not fried. I'm sure the fried wings are lovely, but the baked is cooked so tenderly that the meat was just falling off the bone into the sweet sauce below (which you should dip your cornbread in). Don't forget to ask for some house secret sauce for your food. I'm fairly certain you could put it on anything and it will become even more irresistible than it seems when you first smell the aromas wafting up from your dish. I have two regrets. I didn't take any pictures of my food, and I don't have a second stomach. Get yourself here as soon as you can, bring an empty stomach and an open heart. The staff is so kind and the owner is a joy of a woman that serves up her smile and kindness as much as she serves up a filling meal. I will be making sure to get back here soon so I can explore the menu more.

I'm a…read moreprecovid frequent dinner and take out was never really my problem thing when I frequented here because it had a certain ambiance with the service when ever I dinned in there that brought me back over and over with different people to experience. So I was so very disappointed when after Covid they continued with the only pick up service. The food quality is enough to continue yes but the vibe dining in and at the bar I truly miss. My daughters fell in love with this place because every time we walked into that dinning room there was a particular servers who KNEW US. They knew us enough to know my daughters had a favorite table (the 1st we sat at dinning there). They know us to know that my daughters had special distinction drink mocktails (one of the reasons the fell in love wit this place) that they could order even when it was no longer in the menu. This was one of those places we frequented....even if they couldn't get their special table or waiter, the quality never disappointed. During Covid we order delivery regularly because we didn't realize how much this spot because our Caribbean food must have. I can't say we ever really had tried a different meal from over favorable ones that made us say this is one thing they don't get right to us. And the rum punches and Bob Marley drinks they served during their dinning days is what got me to the pin t I had to start stopping in this joint just to have a drink and appetizers. This really used to be by spot back when they had dine in services. Over the years it's in our delivery/pickup Bronx favorite list unfortunately. I say unfortunately because now that we are back at full operational living. I har to slash the delivery/pickup weekly rituals to only situations of desperation not necessity. So this spot has only become a craving order delivery/pickup order spot. Not a I got some/gonna make some time to go enjoy a drink and some Caribbean food spot destination. Which this was my #1 default choice before Covid as I said this used to be my spot. I would take my daughters here damn there biweekly if not be there weekly myself on dates and when hanging out . Cause they people there were serious enough about customer service they would acknowledge knowing who you are and treat you as such. Hence again why my daughters loved this place as kids. *Looks right and left* a yoo when yall opening the dinning in area again cause it's been log enough now...FIX IT! lol

The jerk chicken lovers in my life can't get enough. My recommended dishes are the whiting (fried) with rice and peas, rasta pasta and now the lobster (which I didn't know they had). The seafood is made to order, fresh and super tasty. I never thought sweet chili and lobster would be a good combo but it totally rocks! It was truly delectable. My only issue is that they charge for gravy if the dish isn't saucy (as if) lol but I get it!
