What can I say. When I crave donuts I like crispy creme. Plain or filled donuts. Their dough is ligh and fluffy. I can't smell the oil on it like some donut places. But their regular glaZed donuts are medium size and not too big. Reese donut is really good. Slight peanut buttery but not too much and the chocolate is not too sweet. Their custard filled donut is with light creamy custard. If I didn't know I would say it's just like whipped cream. The chocolate filled is also delicious and chocolaty. Cinnamon apple is just like pie filling. My only gripe is that they do not have donut holes. They have small cake balls/ holes. But no donut holes. Why??????? [Short Story] Okay, so I'm in class, taking a test. I'm doing pretty well by the way :) when all of a sudden all hell breaks lose. The culprit...my stomach... lets call him Bob.. This particular store is a little small but clean and uniform like the others. Their donuts are always awesome because they dip it everywhere. Normally a standard donut store will only dip the top but here you'll get the full package, from top to a sugar glazed bottom. I always go for the standard maple and chocolate which are always delicious by the way. Sometimes you'll see new flavors like red velvet or etc so you'll never really run out of flavors. They also serve coffee, ice drinks and store specials if you're feeling sugar deprived. I came here recently to pick up some PMS delights for my daughter, and my son's favorite chocolate glazed with sprinkles. Poor kid could not even finish his doughnut. I had a small bite to see why, and had to spit it out. These donuts are WAY too sweet. Not a fan, but service was great and the store is super clean. I am only a fan of their doughnuts NOT their customer service. When I first came in I was just looking at what they had to offer, and right away the lady asked me if I wanted to buy a dozen. She didn't say hello, thank you for coming in, how are you doing this evening, NOTHING. I said that a dozen was way too much, and that I just wanted a chocolate sprinkled doughnut. She then kept pushing me to get more which was actually kind of annoying. I decided to get one more just in case my husband changed his mind about wanting one, not because of her pushy sales tactics. When I was ready to pay, she said "that's it" (her tone was what upset me), as if what I had ordered did not meet her doughnut quota lol. I love a good Krispy Kreme donut. When that hot and ready sign is lit up we all know what that is supposed to mean. Watching the glaze cascade over those donuts is just the amazing visual component to what should be a very complete tasting experience. I had been craving Krispy Kreme for a few months and when I realized that there was a Kripsy Kreme in San Jose I knew I had to make that trip. I pulled up and that beautiful sign was lit and telling me all I need to know. Of course I went for the OG classic. This is a much smaller location, nestled in the Plant, where it seems like they glaze the doughtnuts in the store, but the actual production of the doughnuts seem handled elsewhere. Overall, rather deceptive, if I would say so myself. The people aren't as nice as a full-fledged Krispy Kreme, and the environment as a whole just seems really drab. If you think of a Krispy Kreme shop, you think their stock would be better than what's available at your local grocery store, and I am sure the ones from this store are better, but overall, I wasn't impressed. Also no free glazed doughnut samples when I came. Not a big deal, but it's always something that's been nice when I've visited the larger stores. Finally a Krispy Kreme closer to home. So far I've been here twice. Their Donuts are great and the customer service at this location is OK. (so 4 stars instead of 5). From what I can tell is that they do not have the full donut making machine, only the icing waterfall portion. I did a google search and found that Krispy Kreme tested smaller machines for smaller locations, and the dough is prepared at a larger store. So this may be the case here as the store is much smaller than the Rhengstorff location. Someone correct me if i'm wrong... So even if you dont get super fresh doughnuts (just freshly iced) theyre still good and you can make them warm again with 8 seconds in the microwave. I never quite understood the hype for Krispy Kreme. I guess I was biased because I prefer the quaint little donut shop by my house, Happy Donuts. Went here once and had their donuts a few more times after. Bottom line is that I would describe their donuts as dense and overly sweet. I'll admit that sometimes they can really hit the spot when you're craving, but their glaze can be overwhelming. I wouldn't necessarily describe their donuts as fluffy either but they are soft. I was a little taken back by how much their donuts actually cost, almost twice what I'm use to paying, but it was expected. This place is always a toss up. They are usually pretty stocked up and who can beat krispy kreme donuts? No one. But sometimes they ignore customers, are rude and do not have new items in stock. I came in at 10am in the morning asking if they had the oreo donuts that came out a couple weeks ago. They said they dont have them. No, 'we are making them', no 'we will have more at this time', just a eye roll and "No we dont have anymore". Gotta love good ole Krispy Kreme! The shop was extremely clean and the staff was friendly when I came. I ordered 2 glazed raspberry jelly filled donuts and 4 original glazed donuts that are always to die for. Even though there were plenty of original glazed donuts sitting out on display, the staff member got me 4 fresh ones and personally gave handed me the to go box once he was finished. While I was there, I was lingering for a while just chit chatting with my friend , and this huge family with several active little kids came in.
