My first experience with ordering fried chicken from a gas station. Plus my first experience with Grubhub in Chicago, or anytime. Order placed about 1230p. I'll have to assume, the order was packaged my the employees at the gas station. Special order instructions stated to provide ranch dressing, butter, plasticware, and extra napkins... NONE of this was provided!! The chicken was good, considering it came from a location inside a gas station. It was still hot, moist, and the breading wasn't overwhelming. The so called biscuits were dry, hard, and overcooked. The reviews I read prior to placing my order, quite a few stating how wonderful the biscuits were. Apparently, they were given fresh biscuits, or they thought they were good, coming from this type of location. Since we were having the order delivered, I kinda regret not ordering from an actual restaurant, like Popeyes, as they have very good biscuits and chicken. My other issue is with Grubhub. Since this was my very first-time using this service, my delivery was supposed to be free!! Unfortunately, I was still charged for the delivery. Grubhub did send a confirmation text after the order was placed. Another when the driver was on their way, and driver called when he arrived at my house, (this was requested in ordering instructions). The prices are amazing. My friend got two pieces of chicken, a drink and biscuit for $3.99! I got tenders for 4.99 which was a great deal compared to the prices I'm used to in New York. When my friend told me that gas station chicken in chicago was cheap and good, I cracked up. Gas station chicken? But actually seeing it in action, it's a great idea. The chicken is fresh and tasty and not dry. The fries were awesome too. However I made the mistake for getting a side of red beans and rice (thinking it might be like Popeyes) and ugh. Don't ever get that. The rice to bean ratio was maybe 9:1 and the beans were flavour less and I had so much regret. Plus the rice was soggy. But I had a bad experience about a month ago with a rude employee and bad food but decided to give Krispy krunchy Chicken a second a second chance after talking with home office. So I go in today and I get two corn dogs they were already wrapped up ready to go and I was in a hurry. I get back to work sit down to eat my two corn dogs pull the first one out of the bag and it's Bart like bad okay same goes for the second one. First time there stood there waiting to even place an order for 15 minutes, while the cashier carried on conversations with their co-workers completely ignoring the line of customers forming. I just stared at dude in complete disbelief, thinking that would give him a clue. So that when he finally asked to take my order, without even acknowledging his rude behavior or apologizing for the wait, I just took my time responding to him and then told him no he could not take my order now, because his lack of service would not be condoned by getting my business. Tried again with this spot- same clown working the register and taking orders. This time rather than make sure all the order was there, he repeatedly probed my spouse with questions about marijuana: what kind he was smoking lately, naming all these different kinds, and acting like he was more concerned with selling marijuana than the food on their menu. Despite telling the clerk that he didn't mess with any of it, he continued to force the conversation. Sure enough, the order was missing a second order of fries. Trying to call and get resolution regarding the complaint, it was too loud for same clown at the register to hear what I was saying and said for me to call back that it was a bad connection and not the racket in his kitchen. Next call, seeking a manager, he claims he is the manager, and that it was a different person at the register to divert the attention being on him for trying to deal in marijuana. In order for them to identify the order, I stated the order that was missing an order of fries. He then calls me back yelling at me and cursing at me that I reported the items missing that weren't missing, failing to understand that I stated the entire order that was missing the fries, so that he could identify the order that was missing the fries. He then threatens to call the police on me if I come into the restaurant- so obviously I'm not going to get the item I paid for on the next order. It's so loud in the kitchen that he can't hear me and asks that I callback and in the same noise misunderstands what was reported as missing and thinks it professional to call a customer back and curse at me and threaten me with police, if I come into his restaurant. Real professional- be more concerned with customers potential marijuana consumption than with the food they are ordering from you that the order is missing items paid for, then repeatedly call back the customer from the number on the caller Id to harass and threaten them, because clerk is so high that they can't even get the missing order straight, and threaten customer with police when the clown at the register is actually doing illegal business trying to sell marijuana to customers. read more

This place is inside of a gas station, don't let this scare you. I used to get food from them at least twice a week, than my commute changed, so now I stop by every few months. I usually pick it up myself, but had delivery plenty of times as well. The food is good, guys working behind the counter friendly. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes for the food to be ready. I am not a big fan of fried chicken, but this place makes it taste amazing. The chicken is nice and soft inside (but not undercooked like some places). Outside is perfectly crispy. Cannot believe I'm getting this excited over chicken from a gas station. They have good hot dogs too, their honey biscuits are amazing. Another thing worth mentioning is for a small fee they would bring me whatever i needed from a gas station with the food delivery. On many occasions I asked for a gallon of milk and other nonsense. My roommates and I just got delivery from here and it was great! The chicken was crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside with really good flavor. We got the honey biscuits which were so great. The fries were a perfect thickness with nice seasoning and the Mac and cheese was great as well. All at a very affordable price. I drive past this place at least once a week and had been meaning to give it a shot, based on Yelp reviews and my general curiosity about a chicken place inside a gas station! I had chicken tenders, which were a bit dry and the coating was bland. I drowned them in honey mustard and suddenly they were a little better. If I was in a pinch for food and craving chicken, I would eat them again. I think they were better than KFC chicken tenders and definitely better than Popeyes chicken tenders. I also tried: *Mac n cheese -- YUCK! This is worse than the stuff from the blue box! Seriously. Don't order it. *Fried corn on the cob -- how interesting! The batter had a bit of spice to it but it didn't do much for adding flavor to something as simple as corn on the cob. I'd skip this one next time, but it was worth trying to say I've had fried corn on the cob now! *Corn dog - standard corn dog. Deep fried, golden goodness. These are hard to mess up and this one was pretty solid. It did take an extra 7 minutes to cook so I had to wait a bit for it. It was kind of worth it since I love corn dogs! *Honey butter biscuits - hmmm...I'm going to say so-so on these. They weren't warm, which probably would've made a difference. Maybe a little extra butter to go with them would've helped? I'm not sure what was missing, but there just wasn't enough flavor for me. They weren't bad and I would probably have them again, since I'm a sucker for biscuits, but I would add some extra butter or even a drizzle of fresh honey to make them better. This place is a hidden gem! Pickup or delivery only. I have ordered for pick up before, if you do please don't let the location throw you off. It actually shares a spaces with a gas station. This time i ordered from grub hub for delivery, food was just as tasty. I ordered the family tender platter which is 12 chicken tenders, 6 biscuits, and a family size fry for $16. Great value for some great food, split between two adults we have enough left over for lunch tomorrow. Food was seasoned with a cajun spice that gave really great flavor. Updated via text to 7:30 to 7:50. 8 pm restaurant called to tell me they still had not even sent out my order and told it would be another 20-25 mins for delivery. Over an hour and a half for fast food chicken no thanks! Went from 5 stars to 1 star based on lack of customer service and lost a very good customer. The chicken is very, very good - at least what I had, which was a thigh. My husband rated the white meat pieces he had as merely "very good." I also liked the biscuits so much that I ate three of them. We also ordered Jambalaya and red beans and rice - we got two containers that seemed to contain identical stuff (we guessed it was red beans and rice) - which means either that the Jambalaya and the red beans and rice are identical, or that someone filling the order goofed. Whatever it was, it was the least tasty of the things we had. The boudin balls were also good, if a bit heavy (but it's a little fried ball of rice and pork sausage, so that's to be expected). And I MUST mention the fried corn on the cob - taking the concept of frying everything you can lay your hands on to a whole new level. It's a third of a cob, battered and fried to the same crispy kruchiness as the chicken. Delicious! Delivery was 30 minutes late, but we were ordering on a Friday evening, and this is a place that operates out of a gas station, if I recall correctly, so we cut them some slack on that point. All I have to say is damn! That was good! I ordered for delivery online, straight from yelp. I got a family tender meal which included 12 tenders, 6 biscuits, and a tray of fries. Delivery took a little under an hour. The tenders were juicy, and we're so full we have half of them left! The fries were crispy and golden, very good American style food. And the biscuits were a hit with my girlfriend, they were very sweet and sticky like honey, and crispy outside with a very soft moist inside. We also requested extra spicy dipping sauce. Overall, the meal was delicious - the chicken was breaded with a savory and mildly spicy coating and the quality of the chicken was not bad considering the economic value. The biscuits were infused with a honey butter flavor that complimented the chicken and texture-wise, melted in your mouth. The Mac n Cheese was creamy but could use some sharpness. Finally, the fries and dipping sauce made for a great side. In short, this is a great casual take out night idea.
