While we were waiting for our food orders we decided to order some drinks as it was getting a bit hot. I ordered Halo halo, Mango Smoothie and Lychee Tea. It took a while for someone to acknowledge us while we were standing there for a while waiting to order. What disappointed me was I didn't feel the aloha welcome at this place. I still ordered my drinks. The halo halo was okay. For $8 it lacked ingredients, the mango smoothie was good and creamy. Now for $5, the Lychee tea was AWFUL as it had NO Lychee flavor at all. My cousin tasted it for me too cause I thought maybe my tastes buds were off but no lychee flavor. LOL How sad is that. I didn't bother to go back and probably won't go back either. Note: In response to the owner comment below. Thank YOU Truly for your response and understanding my experience. I appreciate it. As I travel a lot, I try to be as raw and honest with my reviews and sometimes it's difficult to write ones like this when I have mixed feelings about the orders, I try to see a bigger picture and my overall experience. I honestly did expect the "halo halo" to be like the ones I have tried in many places as it has unique flavors and ingredients. A kind suggestion maybe rename it "Island Style Halo Halo " As your product is not a bad tasting dessert, it's not like the authentic one. As for the tea, it really tasted like unsweetened black tea. I felt it lacked the Lychee flavor. Anyway I appreciate your prompt response. Mahalo

The hype for the Kula Kups is very real! The taste of the cup is amazing! I live in Oahu and never experienced a truck like this one! Definitely will be back when I come back to Maui.

Whenever I am in the Upcountry Pukalani area and in need of a treat, I try to stop by Kula Kups. It's a little food trailer located in the Kula Malu food truck lot. They have a surprisingly pretty large menu of offerings that include shave ice, coffee, boba, and various other drinks. I have tried their biscoff coffee, slushy, avokado and more. My most recent discovery was their boba cake which is topped with cheese foam and boba. It looks similar to the super popular soufflé pancakes, but it's more of a Japanese style bread/bun. It's delicious! Love the cheese topping. Their avokado is also delicious and comes with tapioca balls, a generous serving of avocados, condensed milk, and more. I really enjoyed the mix of all the flavors and it reminded me of a halo halo but with only my favorite parts. Haha. I've also tried the mango bango and that tasted ok. It wasn't very sweet and the mango was frozen. I think it would be so much better with freshly cut mango, crushed ice, and a big helping of condensed milk! The menu items are a little pricey, but still a nice treat every once in a while. Stop by if you're in the upcountry area!

Halo Halo is extremely good. Would take this over boba any day. Albeit I'm certain their boba is also very good. Lady working today was really friendly and kind.

We are hitting the local food trucks and decided to stop in for a nice refreshing drink. It was delicious.

We stopped in to grab some Thai food for dinner and grabbed one of these for refreshment. What a great idea.

Green tea and honeydew milk tea

Def recommend! Delicious and not too sweet. Although they were busy, they still provided great service

Oh wow! This went way above my expectations!…read more When my trip to Maui was first booked, I researched a lot of food/desserts to try and spots to go to. I saw a lot of hype about this shaved ice, but I was like "it just looks a snowcone an I've had plenty of those" so I kinda blew it off like "oh I'll try it if we just happen to stumble upon a place" but I didn't write it down as a "must try" We went on a hike at the Pipiwai trail one morning and drove the whole rode to Hana. I was pretty bummed that we didn't get to the banana bread place before they closed, but on our way back to Waleia, I was looking up some spots to get a snack. This place popped up and I remembered it from my research so I figured we'd just go. It was on the way. We got ube, green tea, and lychee with a snow cap and mochi. Omg! It was wayyyyyyyy better than just a regular ole snowcone. It's so much creamier and the additional texture of mochi made it even better. Idk if it was because we just got back from hiking but it was so refreshing! I deffinitly recommend The only downfall of the location is that there was only one table and it was full when we were there so we had to walk down a bit to find another bench to sit at.

I guarantee you wifey & I went visit more than once during our stay! I stay lil' bit older now, so the doc said I gotta cut back on my sugar some because my levels are nearing pre-diabetic status. I tried to resist for as long as I could...but 2nd day on Maui ah, had to give in! I blame the humidity HA! Needed to cool down! So off we go! On our multiple visits we went sample: -Thai Mango Sticky Rice (TWICE in 2 visits!) -Coconut Lovers - Coconut, Tiger's Blood, Pina Colada -Pick Me Up - Green Tea, Coffee, Coconut, w/ Free Snow Cap OOH those Ululani's Internation Shave Ice Desserts HIT! FIYAH! The Thai mango Sticky Rice was winnahs with us! Sweet & indulgent...but somehow not TOO sweet! Packed with treats - Roselani haupia ice cream, shave ice, mango syrup, snow cap, sticky rice, and topped with mango puree. Sooooo ONO! No can go wrong too with any of the Ululani's shave ice flavor 'combonations'. Both flavor combos hit the taste buds so good - sweet, salty, cool, creamy...UMAMI! Eat outside too on the tables when you can, get plenty guest chickens & roosters that will keep you company LOL! We went after a long…read moreday of hiking and beach time on Christmas Day, and we were honestly just excited to find any place open. We rushed over and waited about 20 minutes in line, which felt reasonable given the holiday. We ordered three flavors--mango, passion fruit, and Tiger's Blood--and added macadamia nut ice cream for an extra $3. Overall, the shave ice was fine, but nothing memorable. The ice itself wasn't as fluffy as Ululani's, which really affects the texture. The syrup flavors were also underwhelming. The mango flavor was a bit strange and didn't really taste like mango at all. The passion fruit and Tiger's Blood were better, but still not very bold or punchy. The macadamia nut ice cream was another letdown. It was taken straight out of the deep freezer and was rock hard at the bottom. To be fair, the employee did warn us, but for a $3 add-on, I expected a better experience. The ice cream flavor itself was just okay, and there weren't many macadamia nuts mixed in. Compared to other shave ice spots, this one falls short. The ice isn't as fluffy, the syrup flavors aren't as strong, and the value for what you get feels low. For reference, I'd give Ululani's a solid 4/5, and Waiola Shave Ice on Oahu is a 5/5 for me. Peace Love Shave Ice lands at a 3/5--fine if you're nearby or need a quick treat, but not a must-visit.
