It's a fast-casual omakase spot. I personally thought most of the pieces were overly dressed for my preference (which is typical of these fast-casual spots). It's a no-frills type of vibes and I like that they gave you an app and dessert. It's tasty, but there are definitely better spots in this area.

If there's one non-touristy thing you gotta do in NYC, it's try omakase -- and Kun Tsuki in Hell's Kitchen/Upper West Side is the spot. For $89, you get 16 courses: two starters, a wide range of super fresh fish (cut thick and generous), and dessert to finish. You can really taste the care in every piece. My favorites were the seared scallop, sweet shrimp with uni, and the fatty tuna with caviar -- literally melt-in-your-mouth good. Such a perfect date night or special meal without breaking the bank. Definitely check out Kun Tsuki the next time you're in the city!

Pretty good for the price! It's probably closer to 5 stars if you factor in how reasonably priced it is. All of the pieces were pretty good and no complaints about service. Just didn't quite hit 5 stars for me bc there was no piece that particularly wowed me or stood out, which is what I usually save for 5 stars. I do love that it's BYOB, though they have a decent sake menu now.

My first omakase experience did not disappoint! From the moment I walked in the service was attentive, kind, and consistent. The fish was so fresh! My favorite was the toro with the caviar on top. There were only 2 other people in the restaurant so we talked and enjoyed together. I would love to come back when I'm in Manhattan again

With sooo many new omakase restaurants opening up, it really seems like they all serve the same fish or have the same offerings. This spot in particular I was pretty impressed as they have an 18 course, which includes 2 appetizers, 1 miso soup, 13 nigiri pieces, 1 hand roll, and 1 dessert. The fishes are fresh and once you get to the fattier pieces later in the course, you start to drool. The two appetizers that we started out with are unique and were a great way to start the course. This was followed by a shrimp miso soup, which was not salty and pretty refreshing compared to other miso soups. The nigiri is served from lean to fatty. I fell in love with the salmon and foie gras piece and the otoro and sturgeon caviar pieces. It doesn't get any better than this. This ended with a tiramisu piece that tasted like a Klondike bar. Overall, this is worth the $98 due to the high quality pieces.

Still on a mission to find the best affordable omakase place in NYC. While this place is solid, it wasn't memorable enough for it to be THE ONE. I will say that I didn't come out starving, which is rare for me after most omakase places. For 16 pieces, the bill (after tax and tips) came out to be ~$116.

amazing lunch deal - 10 courses for $55! came with some friends and its pretty empty too which is nice. all the fish was so good from snapper to tuna to salmon to scallops i was loving every bite. they have a very unique snapper that was crunchy and barbecue flavor inside is cozy and service was incredible. ill be back!

16 courses for $89 in NYC. Wow. Quality, staff, and service couldn't have been better. You are greeted with a smile and offered to hang your coat while you dine in. Every dish was phenomenal food tasted fresh. Highly highly recommend.

$85 for 18-piece omakase + BYOB is a great deal to find in the city - only pay $10 corkage fee and enjoy! Honestly can't wait for my next visit! The service was great and they already had our pieces lined up and ready to go. Everything was very fresh and delicious - I particularly enjoyed the Wagyu piece: melted in my mouth. There's limited seating so it feels more intimate but the staff is also very inviting and welcoming, so the space feels more comfortable.

Good omakase deal. The food is done well, but don't expect 5 star service. There's a nice variety in the omakase set. The chef does an excellent job of creating pieces with a flair. There's use of yuzu, jalapeños, and an assortment of other flavors. I am normally not a big fan of uni, live scallop, sweet shrimp... but here I loved every piece! The ambiance is fairly simple. Recommend getting chef-side bar seating if possible. Bathroom is clean.

Kun Tsuki is the best bang-for-your-buck omakase I've had in the city. For $85, you get 18 courses of insanely fresh sushi, and every piece had a unique flavor profile that highlighted the fish instead of overpowering it. The pacing was great and the staff was super welcoming, making the whole experience even better.

Overview: 18 courses for $89 (before tax/tip) is a great deal and the quality of the nigiri was outstanding for this price point. There is the counter and side table, I recommend the counter. This place has only been open for 3 months, I can see it getting busier with time. I think that there is a 20% discount somewhere you might can find online for reservations during the weekdays. Service: Everyone was super friendly and happy, good mood throughout the night. I would only suggest that the timing of the items be a little less rushed. At times, the chef would place 2 pieces on your plate before you're done chewing. Food: My favorite scallop piece in the city so far. The sea bream was also pretty memorable. Loved the matcha custard at the end. The pieces are on the smaller side, but with 18 courses, I was pretty satisfied. Would happily come again!

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.

The slices aren't thin, delicate, and melt-in-your-mouth as one usually gets in a sit down; they are extra thick, and I had to really bite down on some of the pieces. The rice was nicely seasoned and was cooked well + portions are also big to match those thiccccc salmon slices. To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The restaurant is a little hard to find as the windows are blinded and the sign is a piece of paper on the door.
