zama omakase has great sushi, vibes, and ambiance. They are a straightforward no nonsense sushi spot that gets right to the point. The service is fast and the sushi is fresh!

Pretty decent omakase place. I enjoyed most of the courses and it looked like they had quite an extensive sake list (though we brought our own - $25 corkage fee which is reasonable in my view!). I will say the service was a little weird - I found the host to be a little overbearing and odd but not a huge deal. Reservations were pretty easy to make and despite plenty of seating over a long sushi bar, there was only 4 people the entire night. Overall, not a bad spot!

Talk about "best in show" for Hell's Kitchen. Absolutely blown away by Zama Omakase. For a little over $100 per person, this felt like an experience that easily could have cost $250+ somewhere else. Every course felt thoughtful, beautifully executed, and honestly just delicious. The oyster shooter was unreal. Such a perfect way to start, super fresh and packed with flavor. The tuna appetizer was also fantastic and set the tone immediately. From there, every piece of fish tasted incredibly fresh, with flavors that were clean, balanced, and memorable without trying too hard. The uni with ikura was one of the standout bites for me. Absolutely amazing. Rich, briny, buttery, just one of those bites that makes you stop talking for a second. The soup was also outstanding, which is not always the course people rave about, but this one really deserved it. What really made the whole meal special was how inventive and generous the chef was. You could feel the creativity throughout the omakase, but nothing felt gimmicky. It just felt like someone who really knows what they're doing and wants people to have a great time. The dessert was also so creative and such a fun ending to the meal. On top of all that, the service was top notch. Attentive, warm, polished, and made the whole experience feel even more elevated. This is one of those places that completely outperforms its price point. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Truly what a stellar omakase. This was so fun at such a great price point. It truly feels like a steal at the $108 I believe it is for a lovely dining experience. We stayed for 2 hours, had sake with the owner, got to know the owner, and enjoyed almost every bite! The space is beautifully designed and it is extremely welcoming. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with exuberance. The oyster, uni, caviar piece that is near the beginning is just so tasty, and the tuna tartare is very good. I loved what we were getting with the standouts being the Ikura & Uni piece, scallop, A5 wagyu, and king salmon, but there were so many good pieces from Otoro to horse mackarel, it was just a treat! The owner makes his own ice cream as well, and so we had a ginger candy ice cream that was just so exceptional and a great way to end the meal. We will be back often as this hits the great mix of affordable and thoughtfully done.

One of my best and favorite omakase experiences I've ever had! I found it better than a Michelin star omakase we recently had. This omakase course flavoring was rich in umami while being delicate and intricate! The flavors were creative, unique, and absolutely delicious, mouth watering, leaving you full with bliss... sigh.. we were sad when it ended.. And the ambience was very chill and casual. We also really enjoyed the sake which paired very nicely with our omakase. Thank you for an amazing experience Chef Ben! I highly recommend you make a reservation.

Zama Omakase is the BEST value omakase in the city! My boyfriend and I were so excited to see that this restaurant recently opened on our block. My boyfriend has tried dozens and dozens of omakase restaurants in NYC (& Japan) and this is his favorite one at this price point by far. Ben (owner & chef) is really nice, hardworking, and thoughtful. Unlike other ~$100 price range omakase chefs in the area, Ben has an extensive culinary background so the non-sashimi courses are truly differentiated. The restaurant is really nicely decorated and perfect for a date night or catch up with friends. It's one long table with a lot of seating. All the tableware is cute and intentional. The 15 courses takes about 1.5 - 2 hours. We would recommend this spot to anyone and hope you get to try it out!

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.

They share a takeout menu and it's super easy to order--text what you want to the phone number on the website and pickup in ~20 minutes :). You pay on a handheld and they don't ask for tip for takeout. I love this process and truly wish more sushi restaurants in LA adopt the takeout box. The only one I know of is hefty but also $200 each lol, making Sanyuu's $69 omakase and $78 Everything don, not to mention the $30 giant salmon nigiri set, A STEAL! I enjoyed most of the pieces but I will say I don't like their amaebi or uni at all. I'm not sure what kind of uni is used here but it's the type with a very strong mineral flavor & aftertaste that I don't find enjoyable. We're spoiled by easy access to live spot prawns everywhere and fresh SB uni. Despite this, I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I lived in the city.

The rice was nicely seasoned and was cooked well + portions are also big to match those thiccccc salmon slices. To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The restaurant is a little hard to find as the windows are blinded and the sign is a piece of paper on the door.

The ube tiramisu was free since we wrote a google review for the restaurant. Everything was delicious and the zucchini was surprisingly good as well. The pork was so tender. the ebi tempura were huge, and the mazemen was thankfully not spicy. However, the scallops could've been more tender and we we were all unimpressed with the ube tiramisu. Overall, I would come back and would definitely recommend konban! Get the corn ribs, zucchini, pork katsu, and corn ice cream! There are many…read morerestaurants with lines that I can't say are worth waiting on, but this restaurant is worth every minute and every ounce of energy left for the wait. I've taken a lot of friends here over the course of 10 years, and without fail, every one of them has walked out mindblown--and why wouldn't they?! The wait times have gotten better over the years (probably because people are waiting for the restaurant next door), but the food and drinks here are still top-notch. Staff is always great, and they all work so efficiently. I am generally a fan of izakayas, but there are very few that offer plates that are designed to be shareable, and this is one of the reasons the food here is so enjoyable in a small group setting. I am obviously biased and think they can do no wrong, but some of my staples that have stood the test of time: Kimchi cream udon, avocado tofu salad, salmon sashimi tacos, and the kani cream croquettes. I was so excited when they opened an outpost in Flushing years ago, but sadly it shuttered during COVID. It is definitely small and there is always going to be a wait, so don't be those people who come in with a huge group during prime time because they like to move (getting customers in and out) very fast.
