The kids wanted dim sum, but the parents didn't want to drive to Orlando to get it. We found Kung Fu Dumpling in Oviedo and gave it a try. The restaurant is in a small strip mall close to the intersection of Alafaya and Mitchell Hammock. It is a little small, but well kept and clean. My kids love Hong Kong style Wonton soup and it did not disappoint. We like to have this soup with pork and shrimp dumplings with egg noodle and some kind of vegetable, either bok choy or Kai lan. Here they serve with bok choy. The broth was seasoned well and made fresh. Pork and shrimp dumplings were also seasoned well. My wife ordered the vegetable lo mein, which she said was good. I could tell it was tasty by the color of the noodle. I think they used a bit of dark soy sauce, which has a stronger, tastier flavor, but also colors the noodle a dark brown. I ordered beef chow fun which was excellent. The noodles were nice and thick, the beef seasoned and sliced thinly, along with the usual vegetables made for a wonderful dish. We also ordered some dumplings to share: Siu Mai, har gow, and pork and shrimp dumplings. The siu mai was surprisingly good. I noticed they also used dark soy sauce in the meat. I wasn't a big fan of the har gow, which is shrimp in a translucent rice dumpling. It was good, but I would have expected a bit more seasoning with soy sauce and sesame oil. The pork and shrimp dumplings were new to me. These are like pot stickers with different fillings. I had these steamed and were tasty. We closed the meal out with Ube ice cream for the kids. If you haven't had this- try it. It's purple. It's fun to look at for the color and tastes amazing. Service was good- we were visited. I less than 6 times throughout the meal. Overall, I'd definitely eat here again. Kung Fu Dumpling will not replace our beloved dim sum restaurants, mainly because we order other dim sum dishes and other Chinese entrees, but it is quite good and much closer. read more

Ordered from here one night after a friend recommended. It did not disappoint! We ordered a variety of dumplings, egg rolls, and a couple dishes. Unfortunately, they were out of the Steamed Chicken Baozi, which we were particularly excited to try. The dumplings were tasty, though my daughter didn't care as much for the chicken dumpling. The food was ready on time, but it was horrible. Ordered broccoli and garlic, it was broccoli rabe which is totally different than broccoli. If it had said broccoli rabe I wouldn't have ordered it. Very bitter. The vegetable dumplings tasted horrible, and the spring rolls were gooey. General Tao chicken left a lot to be desired. Just did not taste good. My friends and I decided to try 3 different types of dumplings. The kimchi ones are a little spicy. All three were very tasty. My friends enjoyed the egg rolls. The chicken wings were very crispy and moist on the inside. We loved the lo mein noodles. They make their noodles and you can tell the difference. The chicken for the two main dishes were just as good as the wings. My friend wasn't a big fan of the braised pork. I tried it and it tasted like the one I had in Taiwan, and was good. We thought they were closing around 8 cause we got the vibe that they were cleaning up and there was only one other table still there, but the sign says they stay open later so not sure. I went to collect my order and was told it was canceled due to them not having the dumplings, Of course I was upset and asked for another order of different dumplings. Super good and great service. Although we tried XLB and the pan fried pork buns, they were just ok. Our favorites were kimchi bulgogi and beef chow fun, those were awesome. The pork belly kou rou fan was different, but for me I think I just am kindy iffy on the kou rou fan. Next time I'd just get the pork belly...all...day...long. lol, melts in your mouth. One of my favorite restaurants! The staff there are very friendly and the food is absolutely amazing. I've had a few of the dim sum, noodles, Thai Tom yum soup, hot and hour soup, and they were all absolutely amazing. Their teas are really good and everything is freshly made. These people obviously don't need any more money. A few weeks ago we went there and they were closed early. Sign outside said sold out of everything!!!! Really???? How does that even happen. Tonight we drive 40 minutes after a game just to get there. Sign says they close at 11:30 we walked in a 10:10 and the waitress said, sorry we are not serving anymore we decided to close early tonight!!!! Great way to run a business. An experience. Not only was it kind of impossible to find the hours for this place, they are open so late!!! Their hours on the front door reflected either Midnight or 10 PM closing but wow is it one of the best scratch foods at that hour. They weren't kidding about the handmade dumplings, they really are SO GOOD!! The Sichuan Wontons were my absolute favorite and the bean sprouts and cucumbers were so great to refresh from the heat. This a mom and pop kind of place with the most wholesome staff and great variety. Some items are only available on some days but everything looked SO GOOD on the menu. This is the best Chinese food in Oviedo. This place is relatively new and we just recently discovered it. Their noodles are homemade and amazing. Salty? Perfectly, exactly as Chinese food should be. I visited Kung Fu Dumpling right after they opened, and I wanted to give them another shot. I am glad I did, as I really enjoyed everything I tried tonight. I have serious comfort food memories of NJ Chinese food Hot and Sour Soup, and this is something I could never be pleased with in this area. I thought Kung Fu Dumpling's version was terrific! So that made my night right there! The egrolls were good, nothing that special. The highlight of the meal for me was the steamed Crystal Shrimp Dumplings. Nice big pieces of chopped shrimp inside, they just had a nice, subtle flavor. I will definitely be ordering these again! The chicken dumplings were pan fried and orange in color with the dough being shaded with carrot. They also were very flavorful. Holy mother of Mary. I been craving dumplings every since I saw a Facebook post about Korean dumplings. I got off a late job around 9pm on a Friday. When I was searching for Korean cuisine around my area, this place didn't initially come up. Instead a place next door did, when I pulled up to the place next door it was already closed (Apple Maps had the hours wrong) but to my luck, which I have a lack thereof most of the time, Kung Fu Dumplings was right next door, AND THEY ARE OPEN UNTIL MIDNIGHT ON FRIDAYS :D. I had the Sichuan Wontons and Soup dumplings. The Sichuan wontons were so good that I just had to have a second serving. Everything is made with love, handmade, even the dumpling sauce was nothing like I ever tasted. So amazing, I could just drink the entire container... but I refrained. If your hesitant on trying this place, don't be. You won't be disappointed. On top of the food being great and prices being fair, customer service was amazing. Thank you for the amazing meal! Was very excited to try Kung Fu Dumpling at the high recommendations of local family members. We recently ordered a variety of dumplings and some Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was good, with chicken and shrimp nice flavors and cooked well. The dumplings looked good but all of them had the same problem. The dumpling itself was cooked but the fillings inside were raw. Even the pan fried dumpling had raw pork inside and the dipping sauce tasted off. The steamed dumplings were even more raw on the inside, even the seafood did not get cooked through. Since our family had good dumplings previously we assume this may have been an isolated experience. We believe dumplings may have been made in advance and frozen then cooked so the outside was able to be cooked but the insides remained undercooked. Unfortunately after biting into raw meat I have no desire to give the dumplings another try. read more
