This place changed my opinion on lamb. I usually don't eat it because of the gamey taste, but I couldn't taste that here. Items I ordered: - Laghman Noodles: I liked the noodles texture! The tomato sauce was good too! Just wish they gave us spoons and forks so I can scoop the sauce as well as have an easier time with the long slippery noodles. - Wellington-Style Roasted Lamb Shank: It's good! Oh why did I wait so long to check this place out? I was a bit sad when the previous business that was in this spot closed down.. and when Kusan Bazaar first opened, I didn't particularly see anything on the menu that caught my attention.. So for the longest time, I just brushed it off and went to my usual lunch locations in the area for awhile. Getting a little fatigued from the area, Kusan caught my eye once again.. Not sure if the decor had changed since their first opening, but a glance at their menu and I was like.. let's just go for it.. Saw the Laghman noodles were pretty popular, and from photos as well as its description.. I felt that was a good choice.. I was ready to start ordering on my mobile, but a wonderful and friendly waitress came up and asked if I needed help and if I was ready to order. Ended up getting the Laghman as well as one of their yogurt drinks as well. Food was, needless to say, absolutely amazing. The texture of the fresh, hand-pulled noodles is something on a different level. The aromas and flavors of the laghman was something that was much needed. Very tasty and suitable for family with kids. I love the lamb best! Especially the Wellington lamb shank, our family loves most. I quite like sour and spicy foods so it was right up my alley. The portions were good for it's side and I appreciate that they didn't fluff it up with other cheaper ingredients. Came here on a weekend night and noticed it was pretty popular. The interior of the restaurant is really nice. We ordered the beef noodle soup and the beef cumin chao-mian. Out of the two, the beef cumin noodles were my favorite they kind of tasted like a mix of tikka masala with nice chewy noodles. The meat here is definitely their specialty. We also ordered the chicken and lamb kebabs and the golden, crispy roasted lamb rib, and they were all very tender with great flavor. Super fancy modern. This is a uyghur restaurant (a distinct branch of chinese cuisine) which was so interesting! I would say maybe its like a mix of like afgan/mediterranean/halal and chinese dishes. I dont think I've eaten food like this before! Order from a QR Code. Can pay through your phone as well so its super easy to just split the bill or not chase down the waiter for the bill. Water comes in a self serve glass vase. Pretty hands off service which is convenient. I wasn't too hungry but I got the Eggplant with Mashed Garlic ($8.99) and then a side order of flat noodles ($3.00) then mixed it together to make my own diy noodle dish. It was good but slightly more oily than I would like. The noodles were really chewy. The eggplants were A LOT more spicier than I thought. I don't think I would get it again bc I could not handle it but I would try something else next time. My friend let me try her Urghur Special Milk Tea ($5.95 which is butter milktea). Super interesting and good. We decided to come here bc we never had Uyghur food before. We are delighted with our experience here. The ambiance was nice, the staff was friendly and the food was delicious. They advertise their food as no msg, fresh and halal. We ordered the cucumber salad, Wellington style roasted lamb shank, and the Laghman noodles. The cucumber salad is exactly what they say it is. Cucumbers with yogurt, lemon, and salt and pepper. It was definitely fresh and came in handy when the Laghman was too spicy. Laghman is a noodle dish kind of like a wet stir fry noodle with lamb and an assortment of veggies. We ordered it less spicy but the Uyghur definition of less spicy is super spicy for me LOL. One bite had me in tears and my tongue was out of service due to the tingles... and that's when the cucumber salad came to save me! The noodle dish itself has flavor too it but I couldn't enjoy it without crying LOL The Wellington style roasted lamb shank was my favorite of everything I had here. It's a puff pastry wrapped around a lamb shank, and the meat was SO tender! The puff pastry was just right and together, they went perfectly with the yogurt dipping sauce. It also came with a cumin based spice to dip, but I was too focused on the yogurt sauce. I would come here just for this again. So unique! Oh and we also got a dessert: mango yogurt sticky rice. It was good but not what I was expecting LOL but that's on me for having an expectation. It was warm sticky rice with some yogurt, goji berries and mango. I've been to Kusan Bazaar twice now, and it's easily one of the best Uyghur cuisine spots in the Bay Area. The interior is modern and stylish, with a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Had an interesting time here at this restaurant... My friend really wanted to go here when he saw a Tik Tok video about it, so this was dinner and leftovers for the night and the next day. In Milpitas, Kusan is part of a plaza with lots other restaurants and lots of parking. It was busy on a Saturday night, but there's parking availability just have to circle around. They close at 9 so I'm glad they could take our party of 6 an hour before closing. It's a classy fusion restaurant with an aesthetic interior and set up for tables and utensils. However, whether it was late or slow, we were disappointed by the service, as our waiter didn't serve us water or provide utensils at the start. It took about 10 minutes for us to finally ask for water for the table. The food is on the pricier side but the portion size is good. You can either do a large group or split the receipts since they use Toast for their ordering system. I ordered the Signature braised beef noodles soup, and that took about 20 minutes to arrive... I was happy with the portion but disappointed in the flavor. The broth didn't have much flavor, and I had to ask for salt, which made it a lot better. The noodles were soft and somewhat similar to pho. The meat was tender, falling off the bone and delicious though. It was a good dining experience, however, there was a discrepancy with the individual bill. We double confirmed our server whether tip was included in the bill, and no was the answer. However, there was a large party service fee... So, my friends incidentally double tipped when the service fee was already included. It seems like a communication issue. I was surprised that my $22 item ended up to $30 because of the tax and service fee. So, double check with your server, if you're with a larger party. read more

Chicken Kebabs (4/5) Grilled and seasoned nicely. Cumin profile is more on the lighter end. The amount I got could be larger for the price I'm paying. I've had quality kebabs from elsewhere. 2. Lamb Noodles Soup (1/5) This has got to be the most bland, lifeless soup I've ever had. I genuinely don't know if it's supposed to taste like that and I'm being culturally insensitive, or if it was mistakenly without any salt or seasoning. I say that last part because I was with a friend who had a soy allergy, so I'm not sure if it's supposed to have soy sauce. My bowl was also missing white radish. Even the meat didn't have any flavor. Incredibly un-umami. Sucks the life out of you. And a single goji berry? I would not pay even half the price for this. Avoid. Lamb Wellington (4.5/5): I loved the naan that wraps the lamb bone, the lamb itself could be a little more flavorful though.
