I left there a few hours ago. I asked the staff to check my tires because my tire pressure light was on. They watched me drive my car to the garage and rubbed the tires to see if there was a nail. They said they don't like to take cars into the garage unless they have to. I told them that I am used to my car being taken up in the garage to get fully checked out. They were sure that I didn't have a nail. All they did was put air in all of my tires. My tire pressure started to decrease in the back right tire right away. I am now at the Frisco NTB and they found the nail in the back right tire. That was lazy service. The team members were very nice but thorough service is solving the problem. THIS NTB IS UNTRUSTWORTHY, LIARS... I WILL NEVER GO BACK! This has been my usual NTB in Plano to simply repair a tire and buy occasional new tires for the last 8 years. Yesterday I stopped by to get a repair on a tire that was leaking and obviously had a nail or screw in it. NTB told me the tread was too low to repair it and |would need TWO new front tires at a total cost of $444! Something told me they were lying to me so I took it to Discount Auto & Tire Shop at 2433 Valley View Ln instead. BEST DECISION EVER!! Mando was absolutely amazing and credibly honest. He took the tire off with our plans to replace it, but he located the huge nail and he said there was nothing wrong with the tread and it could definitely be repaired. Problem solved for only $40 versus the $444 that the liar at NTB quoted me. I've been here twice so far, the first time for a battery change which was quick and easy. There was a minor issue after, but they fixed it quickly and made things right. The second time was for an oil change and a multipoint inspection. I usually go to Ford for this because they have this "the works" package deal, but I've been unhappy with their service for many reasons. During this 2nd visit, they found many things that needed to be replaced (as I suspected on my 8 year old car). Tires, and rear brakes and shocks. They took me back where my car was jacked up and showed me the shocks that were leaking and compared the front and rear brake disks with me. Ford would never do this of course. They were able to get everything done in about 3.5 hours. They made it sound like I was getting a huge discount, but I think it was pretty fair for the amount of work. I was glad to get everything done in one day and appreciated the great customer service! Overall much better experiences here than at Ford! Terrible experience. I called for emissions testing .. asked how long it would take . They say 15 minutes usually less. After and hour of waiting I was told just another 15 minutes. I agreed. 20 minutes later asked again .. "5 more minutes" .. now it's another 15 minutes and I'm still f*ing here. Honestly the people were suuuper nice. Just left me feeling so frustrated. Come to find out it was a mix of "lunch breaks" . I can't trust them again to do work for me. I missed a doctors appointment due to this which causes just even more frustration. They didn't find nails in two of my four tires after three trips, they didn't put back on the caps on the air valves, but WORST is they grossly overinflated my tires (should be 32 each, but had them at 32, 35, 40 and over 50 psi - all 4 different and VERY dangerous). They admitted that they didn't align it properly or balance them properly. On the second trip, it was supposedly done, but that's when they over inflated them. Took back a third time and that's when they weirdly found the OTHER two tires had nails, but they didn't see them even though they had already removed those tires TWICE before. Then, I decided it was time to go to DISCOUNT TIRE now. Knowing they would have to be balance again and I'd need ANOTHER alignment, NTB/Mavis refused to refund the balance and alignment charges that were no good. I will NEVER go to NTB/Mavis again. I highly recommend you check with Discount Tire instead. Great deals and very competent workers there. Keifer and Will are managers at NTB and they BOTH tried to say they would handle it. Even admitted that the person working on it to begin with was NOT qualified. The incompetence of NTB is scary. My tire could have exploded on me and then it would have cost them much, much more - especially if I had gotten hurt. DO NOT BUY FROM NTB/MAVIS - they have unqualified people working on your cars. read more

I went to the NTB at 4900 Plano Pwky to get four new tires and an alignment on Wednesday, 3 January. After a couple of hours I was called and told my car was ready. When I first checked in for my appointment I asked if they understood it would be a four wheel alignment, and they said yes the understood. When I picked up my explorer I asked if the alignment for all four wheels had been don. The response was yes, but they didn't have the alignment tech sheet to give me because the printer had run out of ink. The person behind the counter was quick to point out that it had been done because he witnessed it.... I asked when I could get my tech Sheet and was told that they would call me the next day (Thursday). Not being called I contacted the store on Friday and was told they would have it ready for me on Saturday. I went in on Sunday afternoon and explained to Jeremiah, who was behind the counter, why I was there. He went to the work area to get the tech sheet and returned saying that "Mike", who had done the alignment was no in today. Jeremiah asked for my key get the explorer into the rack so they could get a picture of the alignment. Jeremiah came back and handed me the tech sheet, and apologized saying evidently the alignment was not done. He promised it would be done now, and there would be no charge to me. After about thirty or fourth minutes Jeremiah said my car was ready and handed me a tech sheet the showed the alignment had been completed. However he reported that they didn't know how to correct the "toe" part of the alignment, and said that that would not be a cause of wear on any of the tires. To be honest I believe that this experience left me very distrusting of NTB, because of the unprofessional mechanical work performed. I do appreciate Jeremiah fixed the problem, but I will relay my experiences to others who ask my opinion of the NTB store there. read more

Very disappointed with my service today. First of all I've been a NTB customer for over 10 years. I can say I'm a loyal customer. I came in today to get tire fixed. I was quoted $440 even after I told the store manager I have bought complete protection warranty. After some questioning, we found out I bought the old tires in 2019 with 29000 mileage and my current mileage is 56000. Then I got a new quote of $278. I'm able to get my warranty applied which the store manage said no to because the reason why we were changing the tires is because natural wear. He literally lied to my face. I'm very disappointed with him because I drove extra miles to this location. And when my fiancé told me that he didn't trust NTB I was defending them. I'll never use NTB again. Just an add on information, previously at a different location, I was told I need a new battery but later I was told that was wrong evaluation. read more

I found a big nail in my tire on a Sunday morning. As we all know, there aren't many auto shops open on Sunday's in Texas. NTB was one of a couple tire shops open in my area. NTB was the only shop that could get me in same day. They allowed me to make an afternoon appointment. They had plenty of tires that fit my vehicle in stock but unfortunately the tires I wanted weren't in stock at this location but were available in their warehouse. They were able to send someone out to pick them up and installed them next day. Their service was great, the quality of work was great, and pricing was fair. Bonus: THEY'RE OPEN ON SUNDAY!!! Also, new ties come with lifetime rotation and tire pressure checks. I recommend this NTB location for Tires. read more

This location is horrible. Had work done on a Monday that included an oil change, state inspection and then had to get brake pads and rotors replaced. Picked up my car that evening and noticed as I drove it the next day or so a constant flapping sound. I figured maybe the new parts needed time to adjust but to my surprise I find the belly pan under my car completely hanging off. To return someone's "fixed" car to them with a piece dangling off is ridiculous and lazy. I then show up Wed morning right when they opened to have it be fixed but was told "they have no technicians there until 1:30" a car shop with no technicians...wow. Drove over to the location off PGBT and they were able to remove the belly pan but I will need to replace it in the future all thanks to the Plano Pkwy location! Horrible experience, don't waste your time or money dealing with this location. They're not accommodating nor professional. read more

This location advertises that it is an official inspection station, and has the sign indicating that they are an official inspection station. However, when I took my car here this morning for an inspection, I was told by the staff on duty "we don't have any inspectors on staff and haven't for months." Per Texas Dept of Public Safety requirements, part of the qualifications to be an inspection station is having licensed staff to perform inspections. If they're not going to hire the staff necessary to meet those requirements, they really need to stop advertising themselves as an inspection station and remove the sign from their building. read more

They installed warped rotors on my car and tried to cover up the mistake by saying there were no issues with the rotors. I had new rotors installed at another place and I no longer have issues. When I asked to speak to the mechanic, I was told he was at lunch (which he was not). They took me as a walk-in customer and told me it would be two hours to patch my back left tire. Seeing as the yellow light on my dashboard kept coming on each week reminding me there was a slow leak, I knew I needed to bite the bullet and get this done. The facility is spotless and stark white. The staff are all very friendly and professional. They regularly updated me on my car's status and the remaining time it would take. I sat in the waiting room for most of the time. There was free coffee available. I opted for a Coca Cola from the vending machine. The two single stall restrooms were in decent shape, especially for a garage. A television showed the latest episode of a realtor show, "Like it or List it". It was entertaining for a spell. The best part was when the service representative walked up to me and handed me my keys. He said I was free to go. I was confused because I hadn't paid, and we hadn't stood by the computer where they usually go over the services they have performed. I protested, and said, "I have to pay!" He said, "It's been taken care of. You can go." I promised my hubby that I hadn't flirted or showed cleavage to get this deal. I have used this location a few times and have been sadly disappointed by there lack of professionalism and crappy job. I have used other locations without problems. On this last occasion my AC was not cooling off. I took the car in and asked that they check to see if it needed to be charged. After receiving a bill for about 40 dollars, I was told that couldn't really tell me anything unless I paid for them to charge it. The 49 dollar rip off fee was for them to tell me that "if may need to be charged and we are not really sure what the problem is". The fee was for them to sit in the car and turn the air on. I think this is just poor service. Additionally on picking the car up, the Ac which had previously worked on somewhat, was only blowing hot air I know the ac was working before I went in there so I can only assume they did something. They were rude and blew me off when I went back in. It's just poor service and I personally would not trust my car at that shop Thank you read more

Considering the wheels are brand new I didn't want a tech scratching brand new rims. I needed new TPMS sensors as well. A friend recommended me here and a tech named Noah got me in and out in no time and not to mention it was the best price I found. These guys deserve the 5 stars I'm giving. Dropped off my car for a wheel alignment being told to pick up after 45 minutes. After coming back right at the 45 minute window, come to find out, no one was working on the car. Manager on Duty gave lame excuses like its been too hot this evening, etc. Nevertheless, car gets on the alignment rack and 15 minutes later was ready for me. Manager on duty, put paperwork in NTB envelop without explanation of what work was done. I open the envelop to read the alignment report, to find that the alignment was out of spec and for the most part had not changed from what was before. Upon questioning, Manger on duty says that his alignment techs had left for the day and as such had to put a general mechanic to work on the alignment. What's more that the tech did not have the right tools to do an alignment.Apparently the alignment techs have their personal tools and NTB does not provide them the necessary tools. Seemed very rubbish to me. Looks like I just pissed off 90 minutes of my life with the alignment being just as was before. I am mad about the fact that when the car was signed in for alignment, no one in the shop mentioned that they will not have the right guys working on it nor that they did not have the tools.
