I have never had an oil change as accommodating as the Kwik Kar on Preston! Not only did they rush in order to help get me to work on time, making sure I had quick service, but they did so with a great attitude. They brought me over to show me a problem with the belt on my car, giving me a visual to help explain that it really needed to be fixed. Since I am a female, I often experience car companies try to overcharge me for unnecessary things because of my lack of knowledge about cars. The people here made sure that I was informed and didn't try to pressure me into anything extra, just only what would keep me safe and my vehicle healthy, which I really appreciated. Since fixing the belt would take another half hour and I had to be at work within the next ten minutes, the assistant manager/service advisor Jon Crutcher, offered to drive me to work, and picked me up when I got off, making sure I gave my okay on any prices beforehand. He made really great conversation, and my car returned to me freshly vacuumed and running smoothly. My lock for my lugnuts on my wheels were missing as well from a previous tire change from another company, and even though they were closing, they helped me get the right information in order to get a new one so that I wasn't trapped if I had a flat tire. This is not the first time visiting KWICK KAR LUBE Preston but this time they all went out of their way to help me out finding out what was wrong with the car in addition to have the state inspection. John, the new assistant manager, went out of his way helping me finding out that there was a rat stuck between the spark plugs just under the cover case on my Mercedes-Benz. I could only see a piece of, what it appeared to be, wire but he assured me that there was more there to meet the eye. He proceeded to work on it until it was totally removed (piece by piece). I'm very thankful and pleased. In addition to an outstanding service, John went out of his way ensuring the now deceased rodent was totally removed. I'm gladly pleased to meet John and certain he is a positive addition to the management team and along with Nate, the manager, continue surpassing expectations for every client ensuring a tidy and professional crew delivers excellent service with outstanding quality control. Drove into Kwik Kar with difficulty steering and my car sounding like a weird cat crying loudly (not a normal cat crying loudly!) every time when I turned the steering wheel. (Yes, it had been making a noise on & off for a few days-- and I as planning on getting it checked out "soon" but today it "blew up" so I was obviously forced to get it fixed). It made a terrible sound while driving on Preston Road. Prayed all the way to this Kwik Kar. When I explained to my new friend Pete, he immediately said "Did it sound like this?" (Making the identical weird cat noise). Wow. John from (kwik kar) promptly took me to work. Everyone I encountered was friendly (instead of moaning like, bummer--another car to deal with)...The price for my special Christmas present to myself--a new power steering pump-was less than what was estimated and also they did not charge me for labor. We had a bit of trouble finding a trustworthy place to do mechanic work on our car upon moving to Plano. Then one day I needed some immediate brake work due to a leaking brake line. Kwik Kar at Preston was right there where I happened to be so I turned in there. It turned out to be one of the best happenstances. They fixed my brakes quickly and did not charge me outrageous labor costs like some places tend to do. Their prices are competitive and fair. They also have thus far only found things wrong with my car that I knew personally were going bad. There has been no attempt at scamming me into spending more money than necessary. You can watch them work the entire time through the windows if you are a suspicious sort. Everything was done to my satisfaction and more. Joe F is so easy to talk to if a person has any questions or concerns. He took the time to answer my every question in a very timely manner even up past 11 PM last night so that I felt very assured that the price he quoted me, that it would be honored. Everyone was very courteous, not only to me, but to everyone that came in and used their service the time entire time that I was there. I was shown the parts that they were using to replace the struts and mounts and they were the exact brand that I asked for. The price that I paid for the entire installation of these new parts, even with the tax, came out to be more than $100 less than the best other deal that I could find by a 5 star rated auto repair shop. read more

I needed an inspection for my motorcycle. Originally went down the road to Mckinney Oil Exchange at 4650 W Eldorado Pkway, who I had called earlier and who told me, no problem, we'll get you in. I show up 15 minutes later (30 min's prior to closing), and they said they couldn't take me in - too many in front of me. I asked them how long it'd take, knowing what it entails, and they said 5 minutes. So I cruise down the street to Kwik Car. They took me right in, completed the inspection in 45 seconds, then another few minutes for the computer/paperwork, and presto - I'm done. Unlike the other place, they were friendly, fast and considerate all the way. I'm sure their other services match. Kwik Kar = way better than Mckinney Oil Exchange. read more

We came in with tires that were loose and shaking as we went down the road. Got there at 4:30 pm and thought we would only have time to get problem diagnosed. Instead, they quickly saw the problem and were able to replace necessary parts before closing which was at 6:00. The front wheel bearings, 22 years old, were rusted and immoble. Nate was able to get that and the tie rods done in less than 2 hours, with an alignment. Price was very reasonable and Nate was awesome. Heavily recommend this Kwik Kar. We used to live right next to it, but have since moved to North Frisco. But we will drive the extra distance to get our cars serviced at this location. Great people!!! read more

My experience with most auto service places has been negative. Usually they will push you to buy stuff and then charge you for stuff that you didn't want or need. I decided to go to this one since my wife took her vehicle in for inspection and oil change when I was out of town. She received great service so I thought I would check it out. From owner down, Kwik Kar guys were friendly and didn't push you for anything you didn't need.. and took care of my tires and even placed a lug nut that was missing on my truck at no charge. That's twice in a row in my family. I trust this place and intend to keep coming back as long as I keep getting great service. read more

My friend came to visit me from New York and a week later, he started having problems with the oil plug and brakes of his SUV. He had to leave for Houston for a meeting and it was not until the day before that he realized he needed to get his car fixed. Being a loyal customer, I took him to this place. Despite being busy, the crew inspected his car and diagnosed a faulty brakes booster. They replaced the oil plug and repaired the booster as required. My friend found the prices amazingly reasonable and he hasn't had a complain since this last fix. In my opinion, this car repair shop is worth trying. I highly recommend this shop. read more

I've been jumping around auto repair shops because of bad experience. My Nissan Sentra was a gift from my dad on graduation day and it was frustrating to see mechanics mess the car up. A month ago, I came across Kwik Kar and was more than satisfied with their service. They diagnosed Sentra thoroughly and gave me a detailed explanation of what needed to be fixed and the price they asked for, in my opinion, was fair. The staff members are friendly and honest, and I felt comfortable there with the efficiency and professionalism they carried out their work. I went to Kwik Kar which is close to my home for an inspection and Pete got me in very fast and when I returned to get my car he mentioned to me that my that my timing belt and water pump is starting to make noise and needs to be replaced soon. As I have over 90,000 miles on my car and take it to the dealer for servicing since i had it, they have never mentioned it to me and service manual suggests it be done earlier than the mileage i have on my car currently. I really love the people and services they provide at Kwik Kar! They are fast and efficient. I met a really friendly worker who explained things properly. I have a relatively old car and other autoshops would never really fix the problem that I had when I brought my car in, but not Kwik Kar. They were able to locate the problem and locate it to me. Several parts of my car's engine had to get removed and changed, and it was hard to believe that the previous places I went to weren't able to fix a problem as big as that. I was unfortunate enough to run over a box of roofing nails a few months ago and they really worked with me in replacing 3 of the tires that were not even a year old. They price matched and did the work quickly. Just went in to get an oil change and they showed me some issues that I wasn't aware of. They told what i should do now and what can be done later. I'm a fan of these guys. This was the first establishment of theirs I went to because of location, but I recently went to the one on 24th street too. To keep it short and simple, they will always have a customer in me. These guys are always friendly and helpful when it comes to handling parts on my car. The lobby is a big hit because when I have to bring my kids, there's a little area where they can play while I wait in the lobby. This is a good location for me as it comes on my way to home. The manager here is polite and friendly, when you'll visit this place, you'll get to know that their customer service is up to the mark, as they immediately comes to you and asks for the problems in the car. My son's car needed some some drivetrain parts replaced that were broken in such a way that they were very difficult to remove. It took thirteen hours to remove a part that should have taken a few minutes. The mechanic was ready to give up and say the transmission needed to be removed to get the broken part out but he was able to get the old drive shaft out. They still honored their quote for much fewer labor hours. I will definitely bring my cars back to these great group of guys. read more

The mechanics here are top notch. I just bought a 2000 Toyota Camry as my son's first car and brought it here for them to inspect it because the check engine light came on. They very easily could have charged me for unneeded services, but after inspecting the car said nothing was wrong. Went in for an oil change today, and Pete found that I had a broken axle that I didn't know about. Nice to know that they can fix issues like that without having to take to the dealership. Horrible place - Took my truck in to have the front end looked at because it shakes on the hwy. I knew I needed a ball joint replaced but they claimed I needed 2 even though the other one was only 3 months old. Also said I needed struts and shocks. $1100 later I still have the exact same problem. Oil change is way over priced - AVOID this place. Don't know how these types of places can stay in business. read more
